Regarding house prices, we have the same type of house as marmite (new build) and it was just over half that price 5 years ago! We are in the SW. But it's barely increased in value since.

maybebabybee · 23/07/2015 10:20

marmite my boobs are sore but not horrendously, they just hurt when squeezed really. Not having any of this 'can't wear a bra or walk down stairs' agony that I've read about...

I think everyone's symptoms are different and it doesn't mean much. I'm not feeling hugely sick, more just a churny feeling in stomach. Also constantly feeling quite hungry but yet nothing sounds particularly appetising.

Rosieblossom123 · 23/07/2015 10:27

marmitemofo reading isn't far from me at all :) well our broker said we could afford to go up to £310,000 but in London you don't get anything for that :( but it shows you the further you go from London the more you get for your money and I'm so glad I've got the spare bedroom so we could turn it into the nursery can't wait :) the people that sold us the house paid £152,000 in 2008 how crazy is that??? I work in an estate agent and I'm always shocked with the housing market.

I feel like poo today, feel like I got ran over by a train, so nauseous can barely look at food and my colleagues wanna take me out for Chinese as a bday present as I'm off next week. Slightly scared tho don't know if I should be eating Chinese? anyone knows if it's okay to grab something tiny from there? it will sound weird if i said no as they know how much I love Chinese lol

BeautifulLiar · 23/07/2015 10:32

I was born on in Lambeth/Peckham/somewhere. Wish I knew :( it makes it awkward when we register the baby's births!

Feeling awful again today. it's the first day of the holidays and I've promised Pizza Hut. Wish me luck...

lilmisshopeful · 23/07/2015 10:32

Just had the most hideous surge of nausea and the only thing I wanted to ease it was Nutella on toast. Normally can't bear the stuff. Sat on the sofa under a duvet with my fix and a cup of tea.

BeautifulLiar · 23/07/2015 10:33

I'm pretty sure there are no rules on Chinese Rosie!!

Me624 · 23/07/2015 10:34

marmite and rosie I'm very close to you as well! Are you both going to be giving birth at RBH? That's my plan, a number of friends have been there and most seem to have good things to say about it.

BeautifulLiar · 23/07/2015 10:34

Haha lilmiss I just had Nutella on toast :) don't normally eat it either!

b0nker5Mum · 23/07/2015 10:35

Just typed a post but lost it...!Confused

We're on SE London/Kent borders, no plans to move yet but will re-evaluate when we have to think about applying for schools for ds as we are in a blackspot for primary (no catchment at all!) so may move further into Kent but not thinking about that for a while...

I'm exhausted, ds is going through a sleep regression, refused to go to sleep until 9pm (2.5 hours of rocking him!) and then Woke every hour until 4 when dp took over.... I have loads of work on but lying under a sleepy toddler now and thinking how easy it would be to doze off!!

marmitemofo · 23/07/2015 10:36

I would think Chinese food would be alright rosie, just avoid the usual suspects like shellfish

sat at my desk at work feeling so queasy urrrgh. I remember sickness lasting till 15/16 weeks with DD so got another 9/10 weeks of this omg. have am meeting with a colleague this morning then think I will head home and work in bed..

lilmisshopeful · 23/07/2015 10:38

London house prices are crazy. We bought a 2 bed flat in South London for £230k in 2010 and sold it last year for £380k. Craziness! It did help us buy a house but we were totally priced out of where we were and I couldn't quite bring myself to leave London....just love it...so we moved a couple of miles South to an 'up and coming' (read 'still pretty edgy') area of Croydon and bought our 3 bed edwardian doer upper. We'll be doing it up til we retire tho!

Smirkingpicnicbasket · 23/07/2015 10:39

This thread moves so fast - I've attempted to catch up!

Glad to hear everyone is as lax with feeding children as I am, we have reverted back to Ella's Kitchen as I cant cook anything!

I'm managing to control the sickness (just!), I feel ok waking up and manage to get myself breakfast but after that I have to eat something small every hour to keep the nausea at bay and unfortunately Tea makes me feel better - the caffeinated kind!!! Does anyone know if there is an acceptable amount you can have during pregnancy - or how much is too much? I am currently drinking about 3 cups of tea and a can of diet pepsi!!!!

My house is a stinking tip as I have no energy to clean after DD has gone to bed and I just take myself off to bed. Poor DH has been trying to clean and tidy but he works so hard and late some evenings he is exhausted too! Safe to say it is not marital bliss in our house.

DD in nursery today whilst I attempt to work from home but i'm getting distracted by mumsnet, online shopping and staring around the house at the dirty washing, bits on the carpet, smelly bin! GAH!

sherazade · 23/07/2015 10:40

What's with the Nutella ?? Just had Nutella on toast despite it being something I've not eaten in years. Told Dh I must have a jar of it the other day.
I'm a teacher so luckily hibernating these hols.

lilmisshopeful · 23/07/2015 10:40

rosie I reckon chinese is fine if you can stomach it. With eating out while pg I usually always check the hygiene rating of the place first. If it's ok then you can most types of food knowing you should be fine

lilmisshopeful · 23/07/2015 10:42

Maybe it's the sugar in Nutella. My GP said morning sickness is caused by fluctuating sugar levels or something. I've just had my second slice. Had to eat it in secret from under the duvet so I didn't have to share with my daughter. Bad mother!!

maybebabybee · 23/07/2015 10:43

Gosh, I love nutella. you lot have all made me want to eat nutella now, my ever expanding waistline curses you!

marmitemofo · 23/07/2015 10:43

yes me I'll be giving birth at RBH Smile. I did with DD two years ago - started off in midwife led unit but had to be transfered to the more medicalised delivery unit after my birth stalled and didn't progress as DD was a little monkey who didn't want to come out! her head never engaged despite being my first and being overdue, and she was back to back for quite a bit of my labour. i had a mixed experience with the midwife unit because I was there long enough for shift change over and whilst my first midwife was lovely the second was awful! I hated her and thought she was so rude Angry not what you want during labour haha. the midwives in the delivery suite were awesome though, so so lovely and supportive. so overall was happy with my experience and don't have any qualms about giving birth there again. most of the mums I know in reading also gave birth in RBH and all seemed to have a good experience (or, as good as you're going to get when it comes to child birth)

Kittykitty05 · 23/07/2015 11:01

No, sherazade I've decided I'm just plain stupid!!! I have just had a fab swim tho which has woken me up!

With POAS thing, if I'm tempted to get more, I remind myself that it could be a cute romper or pair of booties instead cost wise. That stops me!

Me and marmite no girlies I'll be giving birth at Basingstoke and North Hampshire Hospital. Three of my friends gave birth there and they had a good experience so fingers crossed, I'm so scared of giving birth lol

Thanks girls I'll definitely be avoiding shellfish, in fact i'll be avoiding fish completely haha let's just hope I'm not sick as soon as I see the food Confused my boss let me leave early yesterday as I was being sick after he offered me some peanuts haha and I've got a day off tomorrow and next week off YAYYY! I missed my bed!

Smirkingpicnicbasket I haven't cleaned in so long and same here my hubby works hard and bless him he tries to hoover and do the washing up, my ironing and washing pile look horrendous and we gotta pack for Saturday, ahhhhhhh :(

BeautifulLiar · 23/07/2015 11:08

I'm hoping for another home birth :)

Don't think you could pay me to return to Lincoln hospital...

BeautifulLiar · 23/07/2015 11:10

Haha Rosie, I'm scared of giving birth too!

marmitemofo · 23/07/2015 11:20

I'd really like a home birth but DP is having none of it! DDs birth was pretty awful what with being back to back but I'm assuming it will be easier second time round. absolutely everyone I've spoken to who has had more than one has said that the second time was much easier/quicker so fx

Chattymummyhere · 23/07/2015 11:27

I'm hoping for a second homebirth. I was not happy with my first hospital birth even though everything went well.

marmitemofo · 23/07/2015 11:31

I've got a new favourite snack at the moment - grapes. I can basically only stomach cold fruit or toast at the moment. was on the phone to my mum last night and she kept talking about food, we're doing a little family gathering at hers this weekend for my birthday so she was telling me in detail about all the food she would cook (this might sound weird but me and my mum talk about food quite a lot). anyway it was awful made me want to vom so bad but couldn't say anything as she doesn't know I'm pregnant yet as waiting till I see her this weekend to tell her!

Kittykitty05 · 23/07/2015 11:36

smirking this is a useful page www.nhs.uk/chq/Pages/limit-caffeine-during-pregnancy.aspx?CategoryID=54&SubCategoryID=130
About caffeine in pregnancy.

Another Nutella fan here. Got a humongous jar in asda yesterday. Sad thing is my kids expect me to share! Confused

Lots of peeps from London on here. I'm North Kent, any other Kent girls?
