Welcome, welcome, welcome to the 34th grads thread... celebrating the success of Just Shagging in getting us viroids upduffed!

For those that don't know, a 'viroid' is from the original JSing thread 1, where someone was trying to type ladies (in reference to all the JSing ladies), but their phone decided to call us all viroids instead!

The name stuck and we've been the JSing viroids ever since.

The 33rd grads fred is here.

The thread we have graduated from is here in its 51st outing. WARNING: they're all a bit kerazy not to mention randy!

There is also a Just Mumming thread here for once your babies come along, or to keep up with the graduated graduates!

There is also a private facebook group (so it doesn't give the game away in your news feed!)... if you want to join to see photos of new babies etc, just ask in-thread!

Here is the stats list, please update your own spot with any updates.

Can't wait for scan news! Good luck honey and pretzel Smile

I'm 6 weeks today - I'm not sure if my MS is worse this time, or if I'm just a bit more pathetic now I'm older. I honestly have no idea how I managed to get through 5 days a week of waitressing last time. I must have been a freaking super hero!

DulcetMoans · 21/07/2015 08:25

Yay for no Ramadan! Do ask the doctor bat, I'm sure you will. Sounds a bit weird but probably some extreme heartburn/reflux. Sounds horrible though!

Happy 41 weeks la! Tomorrow night, I'm telling you!!

honeysucklejasmine · 21/07/2015 08:50

Not me, it's Jelly today! Smile

LaLaLaaaa · 21/07/2015 08:54

And good luck la, gx the contractions come back and you end up in hospital (having the baby Wink) by tonight!

CarrotPuff · 21/07/2015 09:50

Gl with scan jelly!

Seeing my gp tomorrow to get referred to MW. I know nothing exciting will happen but it's good to get the ball rolling. Also I need that exemption cert to see a dentist as I haven't been for 2 years Blush

Indigoblue2 · 21/07/2015 09:51

Anyone else considering having a physiological third stage as opposed to managed? I'm considering putting in my birth plan that I would like to wait an hour before having the injection if possible. Anyone else doing this/have done it?

Toast85 · 21/07/2015 09:54

Indigo I don't know about any of that but interested to hear more..?

Indigoblue2 · 21/07/2015 10:01

toast you have the option of having an intramuscular injection when your baby's shoulders are being born, into your thigh. I think it's just oxytocin they use? Basically it makes your uterus contract and expel the placenta more quickly and reliably, which reduces your risk of bleeding I think. That's what they called managed third stage. But you can choose to deliver the placenta naturally, which is stimulated by skin to skin and breastfeeding. Most women will pass the placenta without the injection anyway, I think the injection just works like a bit of an insurance policy. But I want to do the delayed cord clamping, and apparently the cord can pulsate for quite a while, so I'm thinking if ideally I've managed to have a straightforward birth, theres no reason to think I won't manage the third stage ok myself too? Having a managed third stage also involved the midwife pulling down and putting gentle pressure on your afterbirth to help expel it. This kinda makes me feel a bit Confused and increases the chance of tearing a small bit off and retaining it.

RhiannonElward · 21/07/2015 10:22

Good luck with the scan Jelly! Can't wait for good news Smile

Indigo I think I'd like the placenta out as soon as possible after the birth so it's all done with downstairs. I am looking into it and will get around to all the research eventually though. First I have to persuade dp and my consultant that I can have a vbac and then I can work on exactly what kind of vbac I can wangle. I have a Birth Choices clinic this afternoon so I'll see what I can achieve today Smile

Bat sorry about your reflux, it sounds horrible. I just get regular heartburn and that's bad enough so actually being sick sounds particularly shit. It's worth speaking to your doctor, he might be able to give you something more effective than Rennie. Whatever you can do to get a decent night sleep has got to be worth a try. Also, Grin at dh and his babysitting silliness. You'd think he'd have worked it out Smile

La your little man is a stubborn one, fair play, and your uterus must be the equivalent if a spa resort or something. You should rent it out to posh families at extortionate rates Wink

Pisghetti · 21/07/2015 10:43

I planned to have a physiological third stage Indigo. We did delayed cord clamping and prolonged skin to skin when she was born but I was struggling to push the placenta out (weird experience after pushing a baby out!) so the midwives offered to lend a hand and I took it as I was keen to get it all finished so I could have a shower.

La hope the contractions come back and stay around!

Toast85 · 21/07/2015 10:48

Oh interesting.. Reading required I think in that case. Not sure how i feel about either option. I tend to feel like I will go with what NHS recommends as being evidence based, but reading and thinking about GBS lately has made me question whether to get the private test done, so I can see there is benefit to reading up on the options for other things too, definitely.

La, skin tags- I've not got more of them but I have a few raised moles which I've always had, which have grown and got bigger. In particular, one which I always thought was some kind of cross between a skin tag and a mole, soft and squishy but darker colour than normal skin, and about the size of a Rice Krispie, which since being pregnant has grown, it's now got to the size of a small grape!! I showed my GP a while ago and he said nothing to worry about and I could get it removed if I want but not until after baby arrives, as it is basically a big tangle of blood vessels under the skin which will bleed lots Confused so best for it to stay for now.

gaggiagirl · 21/07/2015 11:00

indigo mine was the same as pis and my placenta wouldn't budge, loads of skin to skin and boobing then the midwife got a bit concerned so I just let them do what they needed to to get it out.

mountaingirl01 · 21/07/2015 11:06

Good luck today scanners!

bat I had that for a while in second tri, started eating less heavily later on (long shifts mean I often eat dinner after 9) it definitely helped. I can't eat as much now anyway (feel much fuller quicker) and it's mainly gone. Unfortunately for dh it comes back if we dtd...

Welcome to the new viroids! Isn't it interesting how we always seem to come in pairs or groups..

Purpleball · 21/07/2015 11:13

I've got more skin tags weirdly. I noticed the other day. one inside my belly button

I need help from anyone who's had a section as I appear to be clueless
I don't know what happens with the placenta. I assume they take it out - doesn't make sense to have to dilate and give birth to it. I also don't know what happens to the amniotic fluid - assume they will suction it out don't want my waters breaking weeks later
If they suction the water out, will they suction the lochia too? I've been told I'll still have it and I've got maternity pads probably not enough

Indigoblue2 · 21/07/2015 11:14

Thanks rhi, pis and ga! So what do you think about putting in my birth plan for ideally trying to have physiological second stage, but if no sign after half an hour or so, maybe an hour, then have the injection? That way hopefully I've got the chance to expel on my own, but happy to have jag if needed.

I interrupt this post to bring you an announcement!!

9 has been reached!!!! 9, 9, 9, 9!!!!!!!

Indigoblue2 · 21/07/2015 11:15

*third stage!! Not second stage. My fanny announcement overcame my senses Grin

Purpleball · 21/07/2015 11:21

Well done indigo bucket fanny GrinGrinGrin

Anyone planning to use a cord tie? They were mentioned at babynatal last week and seem better than a plastic clip and less likely to get in the way. Apparently they can mean the umbilical cord drops off quicker too and heals better

Indigoblue2 · 21/07/2015 11:22

purple I think fatty was def planning to use one?

Has anyone heard from fatty recently? I can't remember hearing from her in ages since she calved Smile
