Hiya - just thought an alternative place for those of us on our 2nd or more pregnancies might be a good idea. I just found out and already it's very different than the first time!

I'm on #2, EDD 25/3/16, one DS 2yrs and 2 months.

I was just sitting here thinking I had no symptoms yet apart from sore boo a when DH offered me some of the v posh yoghurt he was eating.

POO, I yelled. IT SMELLS ABD TASTES LIKE ACTUAL POO.

So maybe even though I'm only 5+3 that weird smell/taste thing is slowly moving in.

Aw that's a rubbish pregnancy symptom to have Rae, though I bet your dh was happy to have all his posh yogurt to himself Grin.

huffel I feel like I already have a bump but I think its just a combination of bloating and my stomach muscles still not having fully recovered from being pregnant last time Blush. Bit embarrassing if I have to start wearing maternity jeans because I've had a big lunch...

Rooibos sorry I didn't reply to you the other day, I've been working 2 very long days and I've only just got on mn again. Thank you for all your advice. The cot bed we've got is the type where you have to take the whole thing apart to remove the sides or change the level of the mattress. It's a really annoying design. I've still got some time to figure it all out though.

Indomitable · 28/07/2015 08:33

Morning folks, can I ask a question?

So all the advice I've read says that you can continue doing your usual exercise but to take it easy, not get over heated or out of breath (?!).

I started running this year and did a 5k in May, but haven't run since. (At all). Would it be a bad idea to start again? I'm a terrible runner anyway, my HR goes through the roof even when I'm not pg. But I have this very odd feeling that I want to do some exercise. If I did, if do a bit of intermittent run/walk (like in the C25k programs) but I'd be out of breath almost immediately.

What do you think?

Raeside · 28/07/2015 08:37

Hi Indomitable I think it's ok to continue your normal exercise regime, for the most part, as long as you avoid things like squats and lunges. I know a lady who is 8 months and still running competitive 5km races....I am not a runner (very bad knee, massive tits) but I'm a swimmer and am still going 3-4 times a week but I am now only doing 1.25-1.5km a session now and have dropped the sprints and the butterfly drills.

So I think it's just bout what you feel comfortable doing. As your belly gets bigger you might want to get a proper belly support band for comfort.

Thanks Rae, maybe I'll have a little plod. (Though my normal exercise regime involves the sofa and TV!)

SunnyL · 28/07/2015 09:27

Indomitable I'm in a similar position - took up running and have even done a couple of triathlons since DD but due to work and life haven't been for a run in over a month. Last time though I did zumba and swimming until I was 8 months and the midwife didn't bat an eyelid. I just made sure I did the fat girl version of zumba i.e. low impact

I'm planning on going for a run tomorrow Smile

I've been carrying On running - although I bottled out of the one I thought I might do this morning as I feel so disgusting right now.

In your shoes I would just potter for a mile or two on a route you feel comfortable on Indomitable. I am only 7weeks and my pace is already considerably lower and my breathing more laboured.

I'm signed up to do a half marathon in September and I'm determined to complete it!

Indomitable · 28/07/2015 09:45

Lol Thurs "just potter for a mile or two on a route you feel comfortable on" its so hilly here I was never 'comfortable'! But I can walk the uphill sections and jog the downhill bits.

ThursdayLast · 28/07/2015 09:56

I know the feeling! I live in a valley and all routes lead up

Indomitable · 28/07/2015 10:45

I'm on the side of a hill, so you can either start by going uphill and finish downhill (my preference) or go down, have a relatively flat bit for the majority run but then finish uphill (no no no!)

SunnyL · 28/07/2015 12:35

I tend to run home from work since its the only real time I can guarantee to myself. It's only just over 3k but keeps me moderately fit. I started the C25K when my DD was 6 weeks and did it when she was in the pram. thankfully we've got an old railway line which is very flat for running with prams and buggies.

hufflebottom · 28/07/2015 15:28

All you runners. Makes me feel lazy. Sad

My exercise is the school run and housework. Blush

ThursdayLast · 28/07/2015 17:17

Talking about running is not actual running. I've managed TWO naps today Grin

hufflebottom · 28/07/2015 17:55

Very good point Thursday

SunnyL · 28/07/2015 17:58

The moral of today's story is don't let a newly pregnant woman do the weekly shop. Carbs with a side of chocolate today. Whoops.

Raeside · 28/07/2015 18:21

I just ate half a packet of almond thins because 'oh I definitely can't leave these, they'll go stale'. Rendered this morning's swim utterly pointless. THEY WERE SO YUM.

OP posts:
LastOneDancing · 28/07/2015 21:24

I swam and walked yesterday and had salads and stuff.

Today I ate toast, a jacket potato, a wispa, half a pancake, a bit of moussakka and a kebab Blush

The fat hungry carby hunger was upon me Sad

ThursdayLast · 28/07/2015 21:34

I've had three packets of mccoys today.
SO bad. 2 x crumpets, a bagel and pasta bake.
Revolting.

RooibosTeaAgain · 28/07/2015 22:39

2 packets of prawn cocktail crisps here Blush - I just "needed them". I never eat prawn cocktail crisps, ever! and 2 slices of lemon drizzle cake, sigh.
Swimming tomorrow with my 3yr old - but I will not do much exercise there, as it is harder work changing him than swimming!

Trinpy · 28/07/2015 23:43

I ate lunch and then was starving again after a couple of hours so had Nandos - it was looovely. Ds was also a bit slow eating a breadstick earlier so I may have bitten off a chunk while he wasn't looking 'helped' him Blush. I forgot about the crazy hunger in early pregnancy!

ThursdayLast · 29/07/2015 08:35

We're on our second playing of the room on the broom DVD already.
And then we're going to explore a superworm trail later.

I guess today's a Julia Donaldson kinda day!

Carb count - two slices of crappy white toast and marmite so far...

RooibosTeaAgain · 29/07/2015 09:57

Did worst thing possible today - used my last CB Digital. 7 days ago it showed 2-3 weeks, today it said the same :-(

ThursdayLast · 29/07/2015 10:09

Rooibos from what I've heard on here those digi ones are notoriously unreliable for dates. Mine said 2-3 weeks the day after my Period was due. If you're preggers, you're preggers right?

RooibosTeaAgain · 29/07/2015 10:24

Hope so. Just got very little symptoms ( lost all I had, no nausea/veiny boobs) and am not coping well with scan 2 weeks today. Think I am 5+5 today.

Trinpy · 29/07/2015 10:26

Yy the cb digis are unreliable. I got 2-3 weeks when I was exactly 4 weeks pregnant with ds then it didn't go up to 3+ until I was around 5+5 iirc. I didn't even bother with it this time because I know I would just worry.
