Hiya - just thought an alternative place for those of us on our 2nd or more pregnancies might be a good idea. I just found out and already it's very different than the first time!

I'm on #2, EDD 25/3/16, one DS 2yrs and 2 months.

Rooibos I'm 5+5 too and have been lamenting on the March thread that I've been feign worryingly well last night and this morning.

However I'm feeling increasingly gross now. I think at this stage symptoms are just a bit intermittent. It's still very early.

Try not to worry.

ThursdayLast · 29/07/2015 10:41

Oh Rooibos, try not to worry, I have days where I feel much much better than others, and some symptoms (like the ballooning boobs) haven't happened at all this time around.

You've got a scan in two weeks? I know it will fell like an age, but that's about as early as it's worth doing a scan isn't it?

Big hugs to you Thanks

LastOneDancing · 29/07/2015 11:05

To echo exactly what everyone else is saying I don't have half the symptoms of first time around either. Apart from very brief spells of nausea and lack of AF I've never felt less pregnant.

I know it's hard but just try to have faith Thanks

SunnyL · 29/07/2015 11:11

Yup I'm also practically symptomless. I'm not even sure my chocolate and carb craving has anything to do with hormones. i think the fat chuffer in me is just using it as an excuse. I found a diary of mine recently that said i didn't really feel anything until 6+ weeks last time.

RooibosTeaAgain · 29/07/2015 12:35

Thanks. Yes 2 weeks is earliest can see anything - the consultant scanned me last week ( went to discuss plan due to stillbirth not for a scan!) and found an empty sac ( wish she had not scanned me!) Guess hard comparing to other 2 pregnancies and is so different.

And Sunny - totally get you on am I craving things or is it an excuse to eat crisps!!

Haha ChloeMumsnet shameless

LastOneDancing · 30/07/2015 11:55

We don't need that shizzle Chloemumsnet. We're survivors experts.

RooibosTeaAgain · 30/07/2015 14:03

Ok well I bought more preg tests and today (5+6) I got a CB saying 3+. Just needed to see it. It was only one day late.( yesterday said 2-3). Just paranoid after 2nd pregnancy and all its disasters ( and not feeling pregnant!)

Sorted our next intraplipid infusion and steroids/progesterone/clexane etc so will look pregnant no matter what happens. Stomach swollen from medication and steroids give horrid side effects ( spots, facial hair and hunger - joy!!)

Thanks for reassurances given.

Off to encourage my 3yr old to learn to use his scooter!!

LastOneDancing · 30/07/2015 16:42

Glad you had the result you needed Rooibos.

I hadn't heard of the lipid treatment thing so I have just had a Google - very interesting and the treatment seems to have really positive results.

Enjoy your scoot!

BeetlebumShesAGun · 30/07/2015 17:47

Afternoon, mind if I join?

Currently 5 weeks with DC2. Dad is 19mo and I am panicking as I always said I didn't want 2 in nappies...actually I said I only wanted one child but DH talked me into it. I'm also surprised at how not pregnant I feel!

I did get asked outright at work today if I was so clearly my eating everything in sight as I have an excuse is showing, stomach wise!

BeetlebumShesAGun · 30/07/2015 17:48

Strikethrough fail. Sigh.

RooibosTeaAgain · 30/07/2015 18:20

Welcome Beetle. And you are not alone at not feeling pregnant. Did you confess at work or deny? You have 8 months to get dd out of nappies maybe? Saying that I have a ds and he was out aged 3, but I know of people with girls dry much sooner.

Lastone - yes due to ivf and reproductive immune issues ( 3 thrombophilias, raised NK cells, imbalance of TH1:Th2 and raised CD19 and CD56) every pregnancy costs several thousands in medication. Though my obstetrician has prescribed some this time so only have to fund the intralipids (£270 a time plus consultants fee) and a few others! Everyone else at work has summer holidays - I seem to have intralipids instead! ( every 4 weeks).

Still not able to scoot ( he has weak muscles so struggles). But need him out of pushchair before next year!

hufflebottom · 30/07/2015 18:42

Hi beetle.

Dd was out of nappies by 2.

Luckily by time lump arrives she'll be nearly 6. I've completely forgotten what to go though.

I'm force feeding myself at the moment. Looking at food is making me nauseous. Stood in work yesterday deciding what to get for dinner after I finished and all I wanted to do was cry. Hate this feeling.

Today though can't get enough of peaches. Yum.

ThursdayLast · 31/07/2015 07:48

Morning all, and hello Beetle!

Rooibos I'm glad you're feeling a little reassured. All that treatment sounds mind boggling. I can assure I'd prefer to feel a little less pregnant mist days Smile

My DS is 2.4 and only veeeerrryyyyy sloooooowlyyyyyy coming to terms with the idea of the potty. I'm not sure if we'll have him totally dry by D-Day, but I'll be keeping my fingers crossed!

I've decided as soon as I have some medical reassurance (12 week scan) I'm getting in eBay and buying a good pram/pushchair. DS is on the large side and he's good walking, but not good at standing still while I pay for stuff...

LastOneDancing · 31/07/2015 11:57

Thursday I have just seen that you are a JSer! I haven't been on in ages but I'm on the FB group from last time Smile

I have this whim that I might be able to wear new DC for a while and stick with the normal buggy, but I have been looking at alternatives. I've got an uppababy but the second seat is about a million pounds and poor DS would be practically in the shopping basket Sad I think he'd still be a bit little at 2 for a strolli or a buggy board?

rdr15 · 31/07/2015 16:03

Welcome beetle
My DD will be 20 months when this LO arrives so we will definitly need some sort of double pram but they are so expensive! Will probably look on ebay too as I can't bring myself to think about paying another 500-1000 on another new pram :(

lutrinae · 31/07/2015 21:24

Mind if I join you ladies?

I'm due with DC2 on 23rd Jan. DS is 2.4.

Currently I'm working on: trying to get him to sleep in his own bed all night, to sleep all night, to stop bf-ing and if that all works then potty training before No.2!
TBH I'm not so bothered about the potty training compared to the rest Confused

He is going to playgroup for two afternoons a week in October and am hoping that will help with some of this stuff.

I look soooo pregnant compared to last time (never got rid of my tummy) but I keep forgetting I am running round after a toddler all the time.

lutrinae · 31/07/2015 21:30

Travel wise I am just going to get a buggy board for our existing buggy and already have a wrap sling for the baby and I have a toddler sized sling for DS although he mostly walks everywhere now anyway. Luckily he is v good about hand holding etc.

chandelierswinger · 31/07/2015 21:54

Hello everyone, I'm approx 5.5wks with no.3- is it okay to join you? Have had a very shaky start to this pgcy and hoping joining you all won't jinx it. (Silly I know Blush) Started what I thought was my period about 2 weeks ago, which turned heavy/nasty, then got a phone call (long story) to say I was pg! Spent a weekend in hospital because of pain and amount/type of bleeding and was told I either had ectopic pregnancy or was prob miscarrying. Then blood HCG results doubled so I had a scan that showed nothing, then a week's wait for another scan, which showed a sac (so far!) Am still under EPAC (still testing +ve, so less stressed!) and have another scan in 11 days for viability! Think I'm due at end of March but we'll see, as dates are shot to pieces!!!

lutrinae I'm having the please-sleep-in-own-bed-all-night thing with DC2... who is 5 Shock

bex198443 · 01/08/2015 00:42

Can I join in? I'm pregnant with 3rd child! Ds is 13 dd is 4 this is defo my last lol (I think!) I'm due around the 5th Feb but not had scan yet... found out I was pregnant late on so everything is behind itself! Doing it on my own! But I don't really mind I've raised the other 2 on my own for the past 7 yrs so I'm more than capable! Bit of bad timing though as funding for my job was cut so now officially unemployed. ... first time in 14yrs!!!! It's strange and horrible having no money BUT at same time it'll be nice to just enjoy being pregnant (if that's a thing lol) and spend some quality time with my kiddies! So would be great if I get a hello back ???? xxx

Raeside · 01/08/2015 07:27

Welcome bex and lutrinae and Chandelier - this thread goes in fits and starts but it's most definitely a much less frantic place than the traditional buses...!

Not sure what to do bout prams but as DS will be almost three when the new one arrives (assuming it sticks) then I suspect it'll just be buggy boards and hand holding. And a bit of stern shouting.

OP posts:
ThursdayLast · 01/08/2015 09:03

Welcome everyone!

chandelier that sounds like an incredibly stressful beginning to this pregnancy - but I decided a while ago that MN doesn't count, so it can't be a jinx Wink

Hi bex sorry about your job, but you sound really positive! I'm sure something will work out for you.

Hi lutrinae Smile

I never invested in a decent pushchair for DS, and I HATE our strollers. We usually use a carrier, but I think that going to be too much for me soon. So, having recently got a bit of child tax credit moolah, I shall be investing. Especially as it is my intention to have a section, so carrying will be out in the v early days.

Hope everyone's got a good weekend planned?

ThursdayLast · 01/08/2015 09:07

Oh LastOne I'm going to have a nose on the FB group now stalker

bex198443 · 01/08/2015 12:22

I am feeling positive lol! Selling a bit of actiderm cosmeceutical-treatments to pay for all the bits ill need so hopefully money wise it should pick up. Hope everyone's feeling ok xx
