Hiya - just thought an alternative place for those of us on our 2nd or more pregnancies might be a good idea. I just found out and already it's very different than the first time!

I'm on #2, EDD 25/3/16, one DS 2yrs and 2 months.

Haha sunny I haven't tried preggo yoga - sounds like it might be worth a whirl? I had to stop my normal Pilates class and can't find an antenatal one anywhere.

DH felt his first kick this evening Grin

Fraggleyourock · 02/11/2015 23:43

I'm sorry things aren't going so well for you huffle! Hopefully this pregnancy will start getting easier for you! I'm also sorry you've not been well brindler! I hope you're feeling better now! Pregnancy yoga sounds like a blast sunny! Awww, Thursday! It's lovely, isn't it?! My dp and I love feeling the movements, the most amazing feeling ever!! (Other than that moment you meet your little one for the first time!)
On another note, I was induced at 38 weeks due to my gestational diabetes last December, rules changed in January and now induction isn't done unless baby is looking huge... So I was just wondering what to expect this time around, obviously never having naturally gone through labour... I'm 31+1 today so it's kind of on my mind. Any stories would be greatly appreciated!! (Knowing my luck I'll go 2 weeks over and end up with an induction anyway Grin)

Boosiehs · 04/11/2015 14:35

HEllo ladies

I'm 28 weeks today. This baby is seriously energetic.... well eithr that or its the difference in position of placenta!

SUper tired this time, also getting really bad hip and rib pains. :(

Anyone else finding that SPD is worse with DC2?

I also have the GTT this week. I really really hope I don't have diabetes. fingers crossed

hope you are all doing ok -wish I had time for pregancy yoga - sounds great!

SunnyL · 04/11/2015 19:44

Welcome Boosie - I've got a v active bump too.

Fraggle I had a natural labour though it was a back to back baby. This meant it was a super duper long labour. First contraction was sunday afternoon and baby finally arrived Wednesday morning when I'd had the grand total of 3 hours sleep.

That's my main reason for trying yoga this time as I'm hoping to avoid back to back again.

SunnyL · 06/11/2015 18:55

Had my scan today and it was 99% perfect. Apparently the wee mite has a duplex kidney which the sonographer says is a relatively common abnormality that may cause baby to have more UTIs. I had lots of kidney problems when I was younger with a similar abnormality so not a huge shock.

Still don't know the gender though DH thinks he saw boy bits Hmm

Fraggleyourock · 06/11/2015 19:47

Wow sunny! That sounds like a really difficult birth! Bless you!! Awww, glad all is well with your little one!! Do you have a preference on the sex?

Fraggleyourock · 06/11/2015 19:49

Hi boosie! I have had a bad pelvis this time around, but that probably wasn't helped by the fact I fell pregnant again 3 months after having my ds Blush. Have you got a bump support?

Qwertybynature · 07/11/2015 11:09

Welcome Boosie. Pleased all is ok with your scan Sunny.

So I just had this posted on a parenting page I follow on Facebook. I'm a bit Shock and Confused! orgasmic birth

Has anyone heard of this? Nothing could have been further from my mind during labour! "With each contraction I said "I love you" to my husband. Seriously?!

Brindler · 07/11/2015 17:25

Glad scan went well sunny! I've not heard of the duplex kidney thing before but glad it's nothing too serious.

Saying I love you between each contraction?! I'm more likely to be telling mine to get lost and never come near me again!!!!

SunnyL · 07/11/2015 21:19

Oh dear god I read the orgasmic birth thing. Sod that for a game of soldiers.

MIL was telling me about natural c-sections last week. Thats another thing I'll be avoiding like crazy. Apparently they wait til you're in labour to make an incision and then the baby comes out the sunroof with each contraction Hmm

Boosiehs · 08/11/2015 08:30

Erm. No thanks! My ELCS will be with quite a lot of anaesthesia!

Qwertybynature · 09/11/2015 12:22

Natural c-section? Each to their own and all that but that sounds like an awful lot of hard work for no real reason. How on earth do you time such a thing?!

Have been getting a few more kicks but this baby is definitely more laidback than my ds was. Hope it's a sign of things to come! Have another scan next week to get the rest of the checks done so looking forward to seeing him again.

Hope you are all feeling ok?

hufflebottom · 10/11/2015 09:49

I'm good Qwerty but not going to get too excited over the fact that I'm feeling ok at the moment.

How's you?

How's everyone else?

ThursdayLastWeek · 10/11/2015 09:54

A natural section Shock how hideous!

sunny just saw your kidney news, sounds like you've got a great attitude towards it - was the sonographer reassuring?

ThursdayLastWeek · 10/11/2015 09:55

It feels like this baby never stops moving! I felt it kicking into the mattress last night ask was lying slightly tilted on my side Smile

SunnyL · 10/11/2015 13:41

Yes the sonographer was pretty chilled out about the kidney thing. I've done a bit of googling since they told us about it and it seems its one of those pretty common abnormalities. It cause no issues or it may cause LO to have more UTIs. I was talking to my mum who said they didn't get ultrasounds when I was a baby but they might have seen some of my i
kidney issues if they had.

LCR77 · 11/11/2015 14:51

Interested by what you said about changes in guidance for gestational diabetes and induction fraggle I've got my second GTT on 24 Nov and really hoping no GD this time as led to EMCS. Although was induced at 40+5 and diet controlled. Where did you find this new guidance so I can do some research. thanks x

Fraggleyourock · 13/11/2015 19:41

Hi LCR! I hope you manage to escape it this time! May I ask why you ended up needing an emcs? They told me when I went in to get the glucose test and strips etc. at my first appointment with the diabetes centre that you are no longer induced through medication. If your baby is growing too large on the growth scans, then they will induce. I don't know why the guidelines have changed, that part wasn't explained to me. Sorry I can't be of more help to you!

SunnyL · 15/11/2015 08:47

Morning all.

Well my pregnancy snoring is back. I've also lost all my energy post 7pm.

Poor DH is being an absolute saint with me.

hufflebottom · 15/11/2015 09:31

Send him my way Sunny, my OH is being a prat.

Take the 7pm as the time to sit down in PJs and do nothing.

LCR77 · 17/11/2015 10:27

Hi Fraggle thanks for your reply

The EMCS was due to over-reaction to the induction pessary and they struggled to control my contractions which in turn led to failure to progress. Only got to 4cm in 16 hours. Baby was getting very distressed and heartbeat fluctuating. Also found out in recent debrief that there was some placental deterioration. I think (although not confirmed) the fact I was already in early stages of labour when induced also had an impact in the crazy contractions and didn't help.

I'm having a full debrief next week as I'm still a little unclear as to what went wrong. I've made it clear I'd prefer an elective c-section than be induced again. It was like having one continuous contraction for 16 hours they were so strong and close together. Not something I want to repeat!

Brindler · 18/11/2015 10:37

Not posted in so long the thread dropped off my 'I'm on' list! So just rectifying that!

Wow LCR that sounds awful! Hope you get a better time this time round.

I'm also going through a huge energy slump phase. I want to do loads of things in my head but physically get too exhausted already! Not good when you're halfway through redecorating!!

hufflebottom · 19/11/2015 09:53

Right....after weeks and weeks of dd saying she wants little sis to be called Lucy I've had enough. It's a lovely name, and people I know who are called Lucy are lovely but I just can't love it enough, sorry if any of you are called Lucy or have a dd called Lucy.

Every other name I've come up with gets a no from the twatty oh. To be honest he's done bugger all lately so am wanting to be pathetic and not give him a say. And dd won't move from Lucy. Don't know what to do. I don't want to upset dd with a name she doesn't like but also don't want to spend the next however many years shouting a name I don't like down the road. I'd like dd's input but I think I'm gonna have to put my foot down.

Dd's name is Isabelle and I really like Eleanor and Harriet. But neither of the other 2 do.

Shirkingfromhome · 19/11/2015 20:03

Just to confuse matters I've name-changed and I can't remember my password to change it back. I have posted on here. Have ds no.2 due 23rd Mar and I've had the same scan dates as a few of you. Can I stay?!

LCR what a nightmare, really hope you get what you want this time around.

I'm feeling OK energy-wise at the moment although that could have something to do with the half eaten tub of Christmas chocs I am hiding from my dh.

Could you have Lucy as a middle name Huffle? I really liked Matthew until my dh said it one too many times (no offence to any Matthews). Now we're stuck with no-names again.

Had a third scan this week as they didn't get all of the checks done on the 20wk one. It was so clear, I find it amazing and could look at it all day. Also getting regular kicks now so feeling a bit happier overall.

Hope everyone is feeling ok.

hufflebottom · 19/11/2015 21:13

Hehe shirking I did that once.

Could use Lucy as a middle name.
