Hiya - just thought an alternative place for those of us on our 2nd or more pregnancies might be a good idea. I just found out and already it's very different than the first time!

I'm on #2, EDD 25/3/16, one DS 2yrs and 2 months.

OP posts:

Great news LCR - pleased your scan was good and congratulations on having another girl!

Brindler · 20/10/2015 19:30

Excellent news LCR!

Yes Querty I have got a badge I just haven't plucked up the courage to put it on yet! Hate drawing attention to myself. Most of the time I can get a seat anyway but I should really just stop being a martyr and start actually wearing it!

hufflebottom · 20/10/2015 20:08

That's brill LCR

hufflebottom · 21/10/2015 10:24

Quick question?
Is anyone else feeling exhausted, drained and achey?
Finding everything is taking twice as long?
Midwife said that it will pass but it's killing me at the moment.

Qwertybynature · 21/10/2015 12:01

Yes I am Huffle I still get insomnia and my ds keeps waking at half 4 (am) demanding to go outside. My hip has started clicking too but it doesn't hurt.

Have you had your iron levels tested? There's a liquid iron supplement you can buy (I'll try and remember the name) that is meant to be good if you need a boost.

Fraggleyourock · 21/10/2015 20:34

Internet has been down for a few days!
Fantastic LCR! So happy for you! I have dreaded my 20 week scan both times! (And my 12 week, worried there would be nothing in there!)
I hope you managed to find something to wear in the end sunny!!
I have a question for all mum's with active tots/toddlers... My little boy has just started crawling forward, he has been going backwards for ages but today decided he would finally travel toward the object he would like, rather than further away from it Smile! I am incredibly proud! But found myself looking around the room, panicked expression plastered on my face, at all of my sharp cornered furniture which is perfect for crawling head height!! What did you find was the best way to protect your dc heads?

Brindler · 21/10/2015 21:35

Yes Huffle I had a real stage of the overwhelming tiredness last week which lasted a few days. My midwife had said my iron levels were starting to get on the low side which I was expecting as I've been on and off anaemic since my teens. Have now started taking extra iron tablets and actually feel a bit better this week.

Fraggle re little heads out coffee table ended up being stored away (and has never made a return - dd now 4!) and I think a lot of cushions around the fire surround. You can buy corner protectors though. I didn't think the plastic ones were much use but you can get some spongey ones. Dreading that stage again! I'm worried I've forgotten how to look after a baby!

hufflebottom · 22/10/2015 08:31

Ended up being checked out yesterday and bloods taken as I had some bleeding. I did ask if my iron levels could checked.

I do have some iron tablets from a few months ago. Might go grab some spinach though

SunnyL · 22/10/2015 11:33

Woo hoo - first scary client meeting went well yesterday. Colleagues assured me I didn't look pregnant - unfortunately I might have blown it by standing rubbing my tummy during my final presentation - d'oh!!

Got another full day workshop next week with my client and then I don't have to see them face to face again until January 28th when I clearly won't be able to hide it anymore.

Huffle I got some sort of iron supplement thing in my bounty pack a couple of weeks ago. Its like a liquid sachet that you can buy in Boots.

hufflebottom · 22/10/2015 15:05

Ooo might mention this to midwife who didn't have bounty pack when I last saw her. See if that helps. Cheers my lovelies

Qwertybynature · 22/10/2015 16:38

This is the one huffle spatone

Maybe they just thought you had wind Sunny? Grin

Brindler · 22/10/2015 19:16

Oooh spatone was also recommended to me by a friend. Supposed to be amazing stuff. I'd completely forgotten about it until you mentioned!

hufflebottom · 22/10/2015 19:34

Will go and have a nosey tomorrow.

Brindler · 24/10/2015 14:28

Ugh DD has a sick bug. First one in over a year mind. Trouble with it is everytime she's sick, it's making me sick too! Not because I have the bug (yet, touch wood!) but because I can't bare sick at the best of times let along when pg! And the trouble with me being sick is every time I do i wet myself a bit!!! Not happy times in our household! Hope all your weekends are going better than mine!

Qwertybynature · 25/10/2015 14:14

Oh dear Brindler, your post has made me laugh a bit but I do feel really sorry for you .DS & dh had it last weekend, it's gross.I could smell sick all week. Hope your dd is over the worst of it & your pelvic floor is holding up Grin

Ds was up at 6 this morning, was dreading a 5am start from the clock change but we seem to have got off lightly.

hufflebottom · 25/10/2015 20:42

Oh Brindler hope your dd feels better soon.
I'm house/cat sitting for my parents who have taken dd away for a few days.
However said cat is giving me the impression that he's going to pop his clogs. Is it bad I want him to wait till my mums back.

SunnyL · 26/10/2015 06:27

Oh Brindler and Huffle - tough times both of you. Hope the puking stops and the cat survives a bit longer.

I had a midwife appt on friday and got to listen to the heartbeat. Seems I'm going to have as many midwife appointments as I did last time - every 4 weeks. It did make me wonder about you poor souls who said you had no appointments until December. Clearly different NHS areas have different priorities. Despite budget cuts NHS scotland seems quite happy for me to have the same care with DC#2 as i did for #1.

Hope everyone else is well?

Qwertybynature · 26/10/2015 17:05

Has anyone's sickness reared it's ugly head? I've managed three r whites ice lollies all day.

Hope the cat has pulled through huffle

Every 4 wks? That's fabulous midwife care Sunny great news you heard the heart beat too.

Brindler · 26/10/2015 20:14

Thanks everyone! The sickness only lasted the day and she is now right as rain. Hope the cat is ok Huffle!

No more sickness here but I'm soooo tired today - think I might head off to bed in a min!

20 wk scan on Wednesday though - eeeek! Can't believe I'm now halfway through! Someone else had the same scan date as me too - was it you Qwerty??

hufflebottom · 26/10/2015 20:32

He's holding out, think he's doing it to freak me out.

Exciting times Brindler. Are you gonna find out what it is?

Qwertybynature · 26/10/2015 20:56

Yes it's me! Hoping I'll be much more reassured after Wednesday. Keep thinking I can feel tickling / fluttering but nothing definite. We've decided to find out (if we can). Good luck for Wednesday Brindler

Brindler · 26/10/2015 21:09

Oh fantastic! Yes we are going to find out too. Starting to get a bit 'nesty' I think and really want to start getting organised and know whether I need to get rid of 4 years worth of girls clothes or not!

Qwertybynature · 26/10/2015 21:11

Same here! I'm on a mission to de-clutter.

Brindler · 28/10/2015 17:25

20 week scan done! We have ourselves a boy! A big one. Slightly bigger than average head ?? and overall growth 4 days ahead of schedule! Ouch! All otherwise healthy and amazing to see in so much detail. Unfortunately dd has not taken the news well ....

hufflebottom · 28/10/2015 17:44

That's brill Brindler, well the ds. Maybe not the head bit. Hope it all measures out in a bit. Not so good for your Dd. Hope she gets over it soon.
