Hiya - just thought an alternative place for those of us on our 2nd or more pregnancies might be a good idea. I just found out and already it's very different than the first time!

I'm on #2, EDD 25/3/16, one DS 2yrs and 2 months.

Which would you prefer sunny?

I don't know, I hadn't thought of that qwerty! I suppose this time will be much calmer (in theory) so he might be in a fit state to try!

I feel much happier knowing we are a potential name for either sex Smile

I'm awake so early as a friend who has been in labour for a week just sent me a beautiful picture of her son. So lovely.

Qwertybynature · 09/10/2015 08:49

We have a girls name but we only liked one boys last time and my ds is called it! I'll only want to know if they can see at the 20wk scan, if they can't then I'll leave it.

My dh told me what we'd had; it was the only thing in the birth plan that worked out!

What a lovely message to wake up to. A week?!!

hufflebottom · 09/10/2015 11:50

Qwerty having the same problem with girls names.

ThursdayLastWeek · 09/10/2015 12:07

Yes we thought that about boys names, but we stumbled across one that we both like and 'fits' with DS name so pressure off Grin

Can think of thousands of girls names I like, but we've got a lovely one that also really 'goes'.

Yes, my poor friend had a MW appt last Thursday and was told she was 3cm dilated. Labour proper took off yesterday morning, and her little boy arrived last night. He is her third as well, so it just goes to show that labours don't necessarily get quicker!

SunnyL · 09/10/2015 12:35

A week? Man thats poo. I was convinced this one would be quicker!

We're struggling on names for both. There are 4 on the shortlist for boys but the girls list is getting longer not shorter.

ThursdayLastWeek · 10/10/2015 15:08

Had to sense to edit myself to a first timer today.
We're about the same pregnant, but when I said I was having a section she asked why...
Luckily I managed to make it sound mildly problematic rather than the 10 day he'll put it felt like Grin

Qwertybynature · 10/10/2015 16:51

Well swerved Thursday Grin

Qwertybynature · 10/10/2015 16:56

Do you know (or are you going to find out), what you're having huffle? The name thing is the only reason I'd like to know as I think its going to take us ages to find another boys one and I don't want to choose one in a hormone haze!

Brindler · 10/10/2015 19:05

I'm struggling for names too! All my favourite ones have already been taken by close friends/relatives.

Been feeling so tired the last few days. Actually cried tonight because I was hungry but didn't know what i wanted to eat! (ie. I threw a massive pregnant tantrum!!)

Fraggleyourock · 10/10/2015 19:14

Too late to join? I'm due January 3rd, very excited!! Admittedly I'm also a little nervous, as my son was due January 3rd this year, he arrived just before Christmas, but they are going to be so close in age!

Congratulations on all of your pregnancies! Flowers

CarrotPuff · 10/10/2015 19:56

Welcome Fraggle! 12 months gap?

LCR I hope you feel better soon, sounds horrible.

I've had an anterior placenta last time, and didn't feel anything definite until 20 weeks, but felt quite a lot of movement after that. I don't know if it moved to the top or something. They did put it in my notes after both 12w and 20w scan.

They didn't put anything after my 12w scan this time, but I've been feeling movements from 14w quite consistently, and a couple days ago got a proper kick. I'm thinking maybe it's posterior this time?

We haven't found out with DS and we loved it, so not finding out this time either. I think we pretty much agreed on boy's name, although that might change. We really struggled with girl's name last time, and the one we picked we don't like anymore, so it's going to be a struggle again! I do have one I like, but not shared with DP yet, I suspect he won't like it Grin But then I do think it's another boy.

Anyone else got a feeling about sex of the baby? Did you have one with your older one(s), and were you right? I had v strong feeling with DS he would be a boy.

hufflebottom · 10/10/2015 21:39

Sorry Qwerty had a phone meltdown and it decided it didn't like mumsnet. Shock

I've been told in likely having a girl. And we keep coming up with girls names and I think I like them then later on I'm not sure.

Qwertybynature · 10/10/2015 22:32

Hello Fraggle the Christmas season is going to be one big celebration in your house in future! Congratulations Smile

We didn't find out what we were having and I had convinced myself we were having a girl (although I said it). I was a bit shocked at first when I was handed a boy but only for a couple of minutes Grin

So hard isn't it huffle.

LastOneDancing · 10/10/2015 23:11

Hi Fraggle blimey! That's a small gap, but my friends are 11m apart and are extremely close.

Brindler I've been whacked too the last week or so. I was a bit worried at first that I wasn't feeling the bone crunching tiredness of the first trimester but it's hit me in the second tri like a brick. Weird.

That's really interesting Huffle - was that the sonographer that said 'more than likely' at the 12w scan?

SunnyL · 11/10/2015 07:31

Qwerty i was the same. Convinced I was having a boy to the point that i was having chats with him. Then to be handed a girl was all a bit weird. Turns out I really like my girl so was all good.

This time we're not going to find out and I don't have a scoobie about what this is. i keep referring to "her" but thats because in my experience babies are girls Wink

RooibosTeaAgain · 11/10/2015 08:44

We already know gender here, due to cvs. No surprise at all as what was expected - 3 the same. This will be the last pregnancy as well (am 40). Totally run out of names!

hufflebottom · 11/10/2015 18:20

LastOne this was at my 20 weeks scan. Hoping I get a more definite in a few weeks for my growth scan

LastOneDancing · 11/10/2015 23:04

Huffle I forget that we have quite a spread of dates here - im still 3 weeks off my 20 week scan Smile
Team yellow here though. I like a surprise!

Fraggleyourock · 12/10/2015 08:47

I know! I have moments when I think about how amazing it's going to be, then others where I have to keep myself from rocking in a corner sucking my thumb for comfort! Not only small gap, but the time of year is a pain in the bum! Got so many birthdays in December and January as it is! We are not finding out, I didn't with the little man and dp told me what we had! Made the birth that bit more special for him! And that he knew even before I did! I also loved hearing what we had from the man who "helped" make him, rather than a stranger. Saying that though, I get impatient if friends have their scans and don't find out haha!

Brindler · 12/10/2015 20:09

My 20 wk scan is not until 28 October. Think we're going to find out so I can get organised and also placate dd who is still insisting she "doesn't like boys"!

Getting rather frustrated at the lack of movement though. Thought I'd be feeling more by now but didn't feel anything til late with dd so maybe this is going to be the same. Heard the heartbeat last week so everything seems ok I just want to feel the kicks!

hufflebottom · 12/10/2015 20:56

Sending some of my kicks you're way Brindler. As much as I'm loving the feeling, the all day everyday is starting to take the piss. Dd was an hour in the morning and an hour at night. This one is all the time. I just want to be able to sit/lie down without it feeling like it's trying to escape.

Qwertybynature · 12/10/2015 21:18

Brindler we've got the same scan date. Seems like ages away Sad

No kicks here either, keep thinking I can feel something but it turns out to be wind! It's making me a little anxious tbh but have my 16wk appt tomorrow so I'll see what happens. I remember feeling much more relaxed about things last time round.

Huffle that can't be comfortable either. Hope they calm down a bit before they get bigger!

ThursdayLastWeek · 12/10/2015 21:25

My 20 week scan is on the 27th Smile

DS seems to have come around to the idea, parroting us saying about his little brother or sister and kissing my belly. Today he seemed quite certain that it's a girl!

My tummy definitely feels weirder this time - I'm getting BH at least once a day, really tight and hard across my low abdomen.
Sometimes I'm certain I feel something, other times I feel like I'm imagining it.

SunnyL · 12/10/2015 21:50

I'm not til the 6thNov and getting flutters every niw and again. Can't wait for tge mexican wave tummy when baby rolls over in a few months. I particularly liked freaking people out at work when it happened in meetings Grin
