We've chosen a girls name and possibly the boys name too. I don't like the boys name as much as the girl so we'll keep an eye out for a better one.

tinyme135 · 18/07/2015 11:22

We had a deal. I think of the girls name and he thinks of the boys name can't go wrong there haha

MiniTickle · 18/07/2015 12:37

We are undecided on names but aren't think about it to much until we find out the sex at the 20week scan. We are however driving back up north after picking up a puppy from London. She is super cute. X

I've only just got up Blush End-of-term-itis mixed with too many late nights, mixed with being upduffed. Needed my 12 hours' sleep!

DP has taken DD out to the park so I'm home alone! Not sure what to do with myself- made a cup of tea but could actually read the newspaper for once. What a weird idea.

tinyme135 · 18/07/2015 12:43

She's adorable. I want one :D

MaybeMrsMum2016 · 18/07/2015 13:00

Oooh, if I knew where you lived I'd be on my way to pinch that puppy! Very very cute!

lilyb84 · 18/07/2015 13:09

I'm on my way to a family wedding, sans alcohol. Wish me luck!!

tinyme135 · 18/07/2015 13:33

Good luck. I might be going out tonight with people who don't know so I gotta make up an excuse why I ain't drinking haha

mrschatty · 18/07/2015 16:18

I'm going out tonight to mil bday but everyone knows... I'm shattered today going to try and have a snooze before the drudge of getting glammed up! Hope you all have a nice evening x

TeenieDeenie · 18/07/2015 16:56

Afternoon ladies! Hope you are all enjoying the weekend Smile

Great news on the scans ladies and Brickie glad you have been able to head off on your holiday after a stressful time. I hope you have a lovely time with your family.

Looking congrats on your team blue revelation Smile

Thank you for the suggestions re a wedding outfit and maternity bras. I went for a fitting today to debenhams and mothercare, both measured me the same size thankfully so I was then able to look at what both stores had. I've went from a 34D to a 36E and was told they may get even bigger! Little bit shocked as I thought they just felt a little fuller Blush Happy to say I got a total bargain and got 4 maternity bras for £16.20 as debenhams had 70% off some of theirs so I got 2 x two packs for that price. So even if they only do me for next few months, it's not like they cost the earth and I have spares for when some are in the wash.

I'm not sure how I feel about my body today. I know fitting room lights are not very flattering but just looking at my body it's changing quite quickly, I'm still really really bloated but just feel like I'm too big for only being 13 weeks. I don't know if it's water retention, because I had a big lunch etc etc but I just stood looking at myself and all of a sudden felt huge and a bit embarrassed to be standing in my bra. Thing is I've actually lost 1.5 lbs since my BFP so it's not weight weight, it's just changing shape and lots of bloating.

Re wedding outfit, it's an evening invite and I don't think any of my dresses will fit in 3 weeks time, especially after a full days food as night time I am bigger with the bloating! I like the idea of something shorter but will need to start looking I guess. Arghhh.... Sorry for the 'me' post...

TeenieDeenie · 18/07/2015 16:57

Also I hope the ladies going out this evening have a fab time! Smile

melonface · 18/07/2015 19:04

Hope you've all had a good day ladies. I'm off out to see and tell the last few friends our news, then no more secrets and I can shout it from the rooftops! We're having a cocktails (mocktail for me) and crumpets evening!

Blackandwhitecat3 · 18/07/2015 19:24

Ah enjoy your evenings brave ladies who are going out. I just want to lie down!

Teenie if it makes you feel any better, I felt like that in front of the mirror too (and like you, I'm still 4 lbs below my "day 0" weight so it is all bloat and organ reorganisation, but it still feels weird to see it. I'm kind of trying not to look in the mirror naked until bump is much bigger.

TeenieDeenie · 18/07/2015 20:13

B&W, it probably wouldn't have happened if I didn't need to go and get measured. Like I said I don't think changing room mirrors do the majority of us any favours! Bloat, water retention, wind, slow digestion, internals reorganising themselves and baby growing by the day all play a part and the sensible side of me knows this... I think I just got a shock. I went swimming last week and didn't feel too bad/big. Maybe just taken a wee growth spurt. Trying not to overthink it and I'm definitely not complaining! I know how lucky I am to be pregnant today and wouldn't change it for the world!

kep1979 · 18/07/2015 21:08

I feel the same ladies, pretty much same weight as before but feeling mahoosive. I battled anorexia for years so feeling anxious, curiously not about the weight gain/size change but more that i'll start struggling again.

tinyme135 · 18/07/2015 22:19

I know how you feel kep about 6 months before getting pregnant I finally recovered from an eating disorder. I dropped from a size 14 to size 6 being too big for me and now (before pregnant) I got back up to a curvy 10 :)

BeeMyBaby · 19/07/2015 08:50

I have actually gained weight and DH told me I look like a duck (not sure why as I don't waddle at all!) but I'm just wearing loose clothes and going with it... I managed to eat salad this weekend without feeling sick at the thought so I might be able to start eating healthy things for 2nd trimester. I've eaten so much stodge over the last 7 weeks!

I got the preloved reusable nappies in the post yesterday that I bought, managed to get around 40 branded ones for £64 and they seem in good condition, I am very pleased and I'm now set on the big items for the baby. I just need to buy things like a bath sponge, new mattress etc so hopefully it will be less than £100 in total.

MaybeMrsMum2016 · 19/07/2015 09:46

Bee You're so organised! I just keep browsing the same moses baskets not knowing which one to pick! It's a toss up between these 2:

www.online4baby.com/clair-de-lune-padded-palm-moses-basket-cream-marshmallow

I love the first one with the marshmallow fabrics, but the other one is so much cheaper!

DH has spent the night out after going out for his friend's birthday. I'm trying to convince him to get me a McDonald's on the way home! Grin

MaybeMrsMum2016 · 19/07/2015 09:47

Whoops, this is the second one!

BeeMyBaby · 19/07/2015 10:01

It's just because I have all the other big things left over from dd2. maybe I would go with the cheaper one as some find you don't actually use Moses baskets for very long- for some it only fits for a couple of months and obviously if your baby is crawling at 6 months then it's not useful either. I suppose it also depends on how long you intend having the baby in your room before it moves to its own room in a cot.

MissMartin10 · 19/07/2015 10:10

I'm going to buy one of those side sleepers like the chicco next to me or the snuzpod as i really like the idea of co-sleeping.. apparently its easier when you breastfeeding? i know they're alittle pricey but this is my first baby of hopefully 3 so it will be put to good use and it can be used up to around 6months as they are abit bigger than moses baskets Smile

maybe i like the marshmallow one Smile

BeeMyBaby · 19/07/2015 10:19

missmartin yes I think they do last longer, dd2 was in hers for about a year and it made breastfeeding unbelievably easier (as I didn't have to get up ever, I just had to roll).

MaybeMrsMum2016 · 19/07/2015 10:21

Bee and MissMartin I like the look of wicker ones too, but as DH is 6'2" this might be a long baby and palm baskets are bigger.

I think we would struggle for bedroom space with a crib or side-sleeper.

Blackandwhitecat3 · 19/07/2015 10:29

Question: if you have a Moses basket (we're planning to use the carrycot of our travel system if we get one), do you have to get a stand to put it on? I'm guessing you don't put it on the floor of your bedroom?

MaybeMrsMum2016 · 19/07/2015 10:34

B&W This is our first baby and I plan on getting a stand. A girl I work with said I don't need one, but if I end up with a c-section I can't be bending down to the floor throughout the night. Plus I think it would help with potential back pain I sometimes have.
