Goodluck for today Brickie Thanks xx

I've woken up today feeling very not pregnant.. I've had HG so have been feeling terrible but I've woken up without a single symptom now im so worried!
im 12+5 so maybe its just time it went and i should be greatful.. but i can't shift my horrible feeling Sad

BeeMyBaby · 17/07/2015 10:54

missmartin I had a day last week when I suddenly didn't feel tired which was the first day in about 7 or 8 weeks that I wasn't desperate for a nap, sometimes the symptoms just disappear for a day. I was also reading another thread where one lady said she had an mmc but still had been exhausted and felt sick throughout the weeks after baby had passed- pregnancy symptoms don't always give you much insight into baby- just enjoy feeling better today!

AlohaMama · 17/07/2015 10:57

I'm hoping to avoid buying another pram this time round. I have a BOB revolution jogging stroller which I LOVE! Can use for newborn with car seat attachmetn but once they can hold head up they can go in it anyway. Super-lightweight, easy to fold and great for cross country, and can literally steer wtih one finger. Not that I do much jogging with it right now - ha. Also have a Mountain Buggy Nano for in town, which fits any car seat as they just attach with bungees rather than clipping in. If DD wants to go in buggy then teh baby will be carried in sling.

MissMartin10 · 17/07/2015 10:57

Bee yep i should shouldn't i! Grin dp says that aswell.. you know what is like Haha

jmac88 · 17/07/2015 11:24

This might sound stupid. But how important is it to gave a car seat attachment? Is it just so you don't have to wake the baby when getting them out of the car?

MissMartin10 · 17/07/2015 11:40

jmac do you mean the isofix base? if so then yeah its just so the carseat clips in and out of the car and onto the pram.. to make it easier is baby is asleep ect Smile

So after saying I wouldn't be having another scan unless I had worrying symptoms, of course I had some brown spotting this morning! Almost like I jinxed it. I surprised myself with how calm I've been, helps that we only heard the heartbeat on a Doppler on Tuesday. Luckily it was very slight and light and seems to have stopped now, saw the GP who was lovely, said it's very common and his wife is at a similar stage in her pregnancy and has had the same thing. Felt my belly and said everything seems right for size (???) but as I was still worried he booked me in for a scan Monday morning. I'll only spend the weekend worrying though so we're going to see the same private sonographer tonight. It's only £32 now for us as we're returning customers, money well spent to see that everything is (hopefully) ok.

lilyb84 · 17/07/2015 12:08

I'm sure everything's fine looking but sorry you've had a worry this morning, and hope the scan reassures you!

lutrinae · 17/07/2015 12:36

Teenie I would recommend John Lewis, they're one of the few places to size correctly. Bear in mind your size will change when baby is born though!

The Mumsnet bra intervention is a must read IMO! Really opened my eyes to mis-sizing.

Hope everything's ok looking

jmac88 · 17/07/2015 12:47

missmartin not sure what that is but yeah generally mean when buying a pram how important is it that yiu can attach the car seat. I hadn't ever thought about it before! I think I'm getting too fixated on getting the perfect pram. Particularly when we don't have a lot of money to spend! Seems like this is one of the most important things!

Also, how important is it to not over do things at this stage? I know people say to get lots of rest when in first trimester but now I'm at 14 weeks 5 days do I still need to take it easy?

The reason I ask is because along side doing a 37 hour per week full time job I do some out if hours/on call work for the nhs. This meant that on weds I did a full job and then got called out for 12 hours throughout the night. I then went to work the next morning after a couple of hours sleep and did finish a bit early so I got a nap late afternoon. This happens about 3 times per month. Dh says I should stop doing the out of hours work but we need the extra money and I do enjoy the work. I did feel exhausted afterwards but I dont think I want to accept that being pregnant will mean I have to change my work. Any suggestions. Am I being irresponsible? If anything dud happen to the baby it probably would make me blame myself for doing the extra work......

looking I'm sure everything will be ok but wish you luck for your scan anyway!

TeenieDeenie · 17/07/2015 12:48

Ahhh 'Lutrinae' we don't have John Lewis here, only Mothercare, Debenhams or M&S. Thanks though.

lutrinae · 17/07/2015 12:55

Ahhh, sorry! I think you measure yourself and find out the right size.

Any ideas on a nice weeks last minute holiday what's cheap. Can either be in England or abroad. Oh and it's got to be in September. OH just phoned me at work saying let's go away in September for a week, long story short his mum and dad might be giving us their holiday but if they go we're going away anyway so that's why I need ideas haha, so it's going to be last minute.

I'm going to be 5 months when we go so we don't want it to be too much for me

Any ideas :)

Marvelette · 17/07/2015 13:37

Hello Tiny. We booked a week in Kefalonia in August for a decent price at the weekend which looks lovely! Think Greek holidays have gone up a bit since the developments at the beginning of the week but they're still a bargain compared to normal and nice to go and support the Greek people by spending your euros there! We can't really afford it but at the same time thought our final 'couples' holiday was probably worth every penny and hopefully we won't miss the money in a couple of years! Let me know what you decide.

tinyme135 · 17/07/2015 13:55

I was looking at the forest holidays. Out the way of everyone relaxing log fire but they're quite expensive

AlohaMama · 17/07/2015 14:16

I'm desperate for a short 'holiday' (think 1 night!) with DH in October, just need to work on persuading the DPs to take the kids overnight.

Blackandwhitecat3 · 17/07/2015 14:52

Looking I admire you for staying calm. Hope everything's ok and the scan shows that tonight.

That forest holiday sounds wonderful, Tiny, where is it?

I feel dreadful today - really exhausted - have already had one nap and ready for the next, sick, tired, hormonal, anxious. Teenie I totally agree with you - growing a baby is exhausting!

Also Teenie yes your employer should buy you a new chair if the one you've got is uncomfortable. I'd add in a bit of backache to the stitch and say you feel you need a more supportive chair now you're pg.

MissM (and other mums), do I need to buy a car seat base or can u just get the car seat?

MissMartin10 · 17/07/2015 14:57

b&w im not 100% sure but i think that you do... unless specific carseats don't ..all the ones I've seen have to isofix base that clips into the back of you rear seats i believe in majority of cars after 2006.. but don't quote me hehe..then the carseat clips on to thatGrin

AlohaMama · 17/07/2015 15:09

b&w it depends on your car and if you have the metal brackets that isofix bases clip into. You can either use those or many car seats you can secure using the seatbelt. Advantage of isofix base is that you can clip the car seat in and out easily (useful if you've got one of those infant seats with a carry handle). You need to work out if you car can take isofix or not and then decide if you want to use it or not. If you are planning on using a car seat that just stays in the car, then it may just be an un-necessary expense. Although, saying that isofix is more foolproof and therefore is potentially safer.

Juniper404 · 17/07/2015 15:26

You have a base in your car that stays put, then the car seat clips onto it. The base can be attached via isofix if you have it, or secured by a big metal pole that goes into the footwell if you don't.

We have the maxi-cosi cabriofix and the non-isofix base. DD always woke up (without fail) when the car stopped so often went into the carrycot as then she could roll. But we did carry her in the car seat quite a lot.

tinyme135 · 17/07/2015 15:33

Forest of Dean or sherwood forest. From what I can see online it's like cabins in the wood with log fires. Some have hot tubs and all that.

Blackandwhitecat3 · 17/07/2015 15:53

Thanks

MissMartin10 · 17/07/2015 16:36

tinyme i was looking at sherwood forest. . looks lovley doesn't it Grin .. so expensive though unless like a family go and help spread the cost

AlohaMama · 17/07/2015 16:41

ooh like the look of that hottub in a forest!!!
