I've had hip/lower back pain since about week 10, but it only happens when I've been active, such as walking more than 20 minutes or swimming. It's not terrible but annoying, and I think it will only get worse as I get bigger. Sometimes I just ache, and sometimes I get shooting pains and then I have to waddle!

I'm not yet ready to give up on all exercise since it's got other benefits, but I've cut down and found swimming in front crawl rather than breast stroke helps a lot. It can't be muscular since I hadn't put on any weight when it started. I think it's just all those hormones making my joints loose. I predict fun times ahead.

kep1979 · 16/07/2015 09:18

tonic hoping everything is OK for you.

And brickie hoping that things slow down and that you manage to have a lovely uneventful holiday.

After feeling very cheerful for the last few days I have woken up feeling grumpy, I'm shattered, and am worrying for no reason at all about Bean. Waiting another 5 weeks for the next scan seems too long...... I may suggest to dh that we have the gender scan we planned at 16 weeks, even though we already know. I cannot wait until our beans start kicking properly - I would feel so much more reassured.

Blackandwhitecat3 · 16/07/2015 09:22

Crumble it really does depend on the angle of everything when they're measuring, and the error in measuring mm is huge. Remember they measured me a whole week behind at my early scan and then a week later I completely on track. I just think they got a more accurate reading. I think that you are probably right - if they measured minicrumble big at 12 weeks and small now...surely it's probably just that overall it's doing ok? Hope that's the case.

Brickie and Tonic thinking of you both. So much worry for you.

Tiny I'm sorry to hear you are finding things so tough. Pregnancy hormones are definitely strong for me with massive mood swings (and a lot of crying!). DH has had to learn to cope with it, but it really helped for him to know about pregnancy hormones and mood swings, and also for me to say "I'm having a really hormonal day today" etc. it must be so hard for him! How did it go with your Dad?

B&WKitten must be having a growth spurt. I've been up for an hour and I'm exhausted already. Smile

Valancy sorry to hear you're having another difficult ill day. When's the end of term for you? It's such a relief for me to be on hols and not have to worry about school.

SleepyDragon · 16/07/2015 09:23

Morning All

Welcome to the newbies

Tonic i have my fingers firmly crossed for you

MaybeMrs i bought my SIL a gruffalo outfit for our nephew, i got it from Tesco but that was last year.

whoever mentioned pain - i have horrible pain in the tops of my hips when i walk..... and i am still mega tired for some reason.

14wk today - whoop!!

ValancyJane · 16/07/2015 09:37

Not til next Weds black it really can't come soon enough at the moment!!

Romeolovesjuliet · 16/07/2015 10:07

Just popping on quickly as at work but just wanted to say to brickie, I hadn't realised they had diagnosed you with a SCH. I had this with my DD but it was between weeks 5 and 8 that I had my bleeds. I had 2 very big ones (gushing out, down my legs - sorry) and then the rest of the time small amounts on and off and then after my second big bleed at about 8 wks it all stopped and turned to brown then I didn't have anything for the rest of my pregnancy. DD came of her own accord at 38 wks. I'm surprised the hospital aren't seeing you again for reassurance if nothing else - they didn't ever seem too worried with me - said there was a risk of MC if the bleed became bigger than the baby but that risk got smaller as the baby grew but the risk was described to me as being low ish. They saw me fortnightly for scans until the haetoma was no longer visible on the scan. Are you still getting fresh blood? I hope you're doing ok - I know how terrifying it is and there is so much blood you can't imagine things can be ok - but try and stay positive Flowers.
hope you manage to get away and get some time to rest.

Blackandwhitecat3 · 16/07/2015 10:08

Valancy "only" 4 more days....you can do it!

tinyme135 · 16/07/2015 10:24

Only problem is he's going through depression too cause his grandad is on his death bed so I'm meant to be his rock and I'm not :(

Oysterbabe · 16/07/2015 10:31

Chatty I've had a few sharp pains low down and at the sides. frightened me at the time but I'm assuming ligament pain.

Blackandwhitecat3 · 16/07/2015 10:37

My bump suddenly became huge last night - lots of trapped wind in there, it's gone down this morning but is still a lot more pronounced than yesterday. I wonder if it has "popped up" from down in my pelvis?

Tiny that sounds like you are all having it a bit tough at the moment. Be gentle with yourself and each other. Maybe some counselling would help you and /or your OH? It sounds like you could do with a bit of support.

TeenieDeenie · 16/07/2015 11:06

Morning all!

Tonic I hope everything goes ok for you today, let us know how you get on. FX firmly crossed for you. X

Brickie Am sorry to hear you are still bleeding. Really hope things slow down and you manage to enjoy your holiday. X

Edgar I get exactly the same when I walk or swim, it's very annoying and can be a little sore at times. Will defo try front crawl and see if it makes any difference.

Any advice from ladies who are 16 weeks or near to... I have a wedding in three weeks time when I will be 16+1. I've no idea what to wear or how much of a bump I will have. Any suggestions??? I'm scared to leave it until the last minute in case I can't find anything to wear as I'm currently running out of options now at 13 weeks.

Blackandwhitecat3 · 16/07/2015 11:10

Teenie I've no idea, I guess you'll have a bit of a bump, but then it depends on your stomach muscles and what body shape you are. I think I would be trying to find a dress made out of stretchy jersey material so that if I'm a bit bigger or smaller than expected it doesn't matter.

Tonicandgin · 16/07/2015 11:13

I'm back! Thanks for all the good vibes.

Midwife sent me to a&e, so had full bloods taken and urine and examination. Woman this time (with bleeding with dd I had a man and I'm not good with male gynae people) anyway, she was lovely, very quick, but thorough and end result is they don't know the reason for the bleed, but no sign of further bleeds and cervix tightly closed. Bleeding had stopped but still have aches.

Aching can be caused by ligament movement, and my placenta may be low lying so may be the reason.

I'm just glad it went (so far) the same way as with dd. I was even in the same room! Dh came with me and kept me chatting and was his usual supportive self. He was lovely!

Anyway, been told to rest, so bam goes the ridiculously long work trip and I'm in bed with a brew and a biscuit.

SleepyDragon · 16/07/2015 11:17

B&W mine seemed to pop last night too, all of a sudden my trousers were the most uncomfortable thing in the world and i had to move them underneath my belly!

DH didn't half laugh at me!

Tonicandgin · 16/07/2015 11:17

Brickie-sorry to hear about your bleeds. A friend of mine had bleeding pretty much all through pgys and has 2 healthy boys. It caused her a lot of worry, though. Hope they stop soon

MissMartin10 · 16/07/2015 11:26

Tonic im so pleased for you that it was nothing serious Smile thank god!.. yep you rest up and take it nice and easy x
i can't even get out of bed as im feeling so sick this morning but now i really want a bru and a cookie Sad I'd prob be sick it back up straight away though lol so no point!

brickiemum2 · 16/07/2015 11:26

I'm still passing clots of old blood and hospital quite concerned so they're ringing me later on today with an action plan.

OP posts:
ValancyJane · 16/07/2015 11:27

black I know, but have serious envy that every other school I know breaks up on Friday. Cannot bloody wait, I think I will probably feel a bit better when I'm more relaxed, we're still crazy busy getting prepared for next year. I was hoping I'd perk up to do some work in a bit, but haven't actually left bed yet!

tonic That sounds positive, I'm glad all seems to be fine! Glad to hear you're following the rest instructions to the letter Smile

kep1979 · 16/07/2015 11:43

brickie keeping my fingers crossed for you - I really hope they can do something for you, although I know it's probably more wait and see if it all stops on its own. Flowers

tonic glad your appointment went well, did you have a scan or are they happy with you not needing one?

Marvelette · 16/07/2015 11:58

Just got the combined screening test through and its low risk which is excellent news. Does anybody know the difference between background and adjusted risk though? I did a quick Google but couldn't find anything I understood! Background I got 1 in 377 and adjusted I got 1 in 3682. Thanks! xx

kep1979 · 16/07/2015 12:16

I think background risk is your age (and not sure if it includes maternal weight/bmi), whereas adjusted takes the results of the NT and bloods into consideration. I think that's the case anyway - good results for you Smile

crumble74 · 16/07/2015 12:21

Thanks for the reassurance b&w! X

So glad to hear it went well tonic, rest well & take it easy!

Sorry to hear there's still reason to worry brickie, I hope you get an answer.

tinyme135 · 16/07/2015 12:38

I'm going to talk to my MW next week and see what she says. I'm proud of myself today as not only have i mot gone angry or lashed out once I've also calmed the OH down and now he's talking to me. Maybe it's heading up from here?

mrschatty · 16/07/2015 12:40

Aw tiny that's really tough. I've been pretty shirty with my poor DH but he's taking it in good spirits poor bloke. You DP should be supporting you and I know he's going through a lot but your hormones are all over the place you need to be practicing some real give and take!
Thanks for replies about pains- nothing today so strange yesterday was on and off all day!
tonic you rest up hope your being well cared for
brickie sorry to hear worry still there x

Tonicandgin · 16/07/2015 12:52

Kep-no scan needed, and she said that she could try for a heartbeat but if she did there was a good chance she wouldn't find one as I'm pre-16 wks. So I declined her to try, it would only make me stress like mad.
