thanks romeo :)

I don't mind whether a girl or boy - I imagine it will be another boy!

TeenieDeenie · 15/07/2015 14:31

Great scan news bee and juniper congrats! Smile

Absolutely no preference on gender here, I will be thrilled with either. I do want to know sooner rather than later though, I just feel it will just help to make it all the more real at this point and I can start to plan. I've always been a planner but can't plan nursery decor or even buy much until I know.

jmac88 · 15/07/2015 15:16

I'm consultant lead too at the moment due to my septate uterus. On the way to see them now! Then I'll have 2 extra scans, 1 at 16 weeks and 1 at 28 weeks. Definitely will be asking about the sex at the 16 week scan. Wanted a girl at the beginning but now swinging towards a boy.

fishermanswife1 · 15/07/2015 15:22

Lovely scan news all round.

chatty my boon pain as all but gone now. I just feel that initial heavy ache when I take my bra off, but it doesn't last too long.

Consultant led here too with more frequent scans due to weird hormones (technical medical term there) and OCD (though don't see how they can help with that). First appointment on 30th July at near enough 16 weeks.

I'm in the "I don't care what sex as long as its healthy" camp. Used to think I wanted a bit, but nowjust really don't mind.

brickie how are you getting on today now?

Tonicandgin · 15/07/2015 15:53

Brilliant news Juniper!

Anyone else feel rubbish again? Horrible morning sickness/nausea yesterday and feel hideous today..

mrschatty · 15/07/2015 16:00

Busy here today ladies! Glad I'm not the only one with boob pain easing! I can't stop eating co-op blt sandwiches do you think they have a high listeria risk?

kep1979 · 15/07/2015 16:00

Lovely scan news Smile

And I agree boosie wow you have a lot on your plate - I hope your dh is doing OK.

I had a large pph after my second son, as well as the fluid issues, so I am baffled as to why I'm not being seen earlier. Even if there were no potential concerns about growth/placenta (both times picked up at about 24 weeks) then 36 weeks seems awfully late to even just discuss the birth etc. Plus I had LLETZ on my cervix due to pre-cancerous cells so again this was raised in my booking apt and contributed to me being high risk. Definitely going to raise it when I see the midwife (need the next 15 days to go quickly). How can I be consultant led without seeing the consultant Confused

Over the last few days I've had some definitely flips/flutters when I lie still, but today I'm getting quite painful twinges in the same place - doesn't feel like the stretching pains I've had so wonder if she is bouncing on a nerve or something. Does anyone else who has had a section in the past have some pulling pains around their scar? Mine is quite tender.

MissMartin10 · 15/07/2015 16:09

quick post! great baby clothes sale in boots.. half price. . couldn't resist getting a few bits

kep1979 · 15/07/2015 16:34

missmartin I went earlier - after I discovered a forgotten £10 boots gift card in my handbag Grin bought a couple of sets and cost me nowt. Very pleased. Also found a £20 Next gift card but nothing tempted me unlike M&S but I resisted

Apparently there is an Amazon prime sale on today too - not looked yet as I should really pretend to do some work today!

MissMartin10 · 15/07/2015 16:38

kep good isn't it Smile .. wish i knew what this gender this baby is. ..there was so much lovely stuff i ended up just buying bright colours and white basic sets

Readyforthefuture · 15/07/2015 16:43

Good news - NT results just came back, both babies are low risk... Such a relief.

Just prepared for my meeting with work tomorrow, got off the phone to ACAS, they are confident this is clear discrimination on the grounds of pregnancy. I'm ready for them, just wish I didn't feel so crappy while I'm doing it.

Oysterbabe · 15/07/2015 16:43

Has anyone signed up for antenatal classes yet? I'll wait for Monday's scan before booking anything but was just checking out some local ones. I definitely want to do it to meet some mummy friends if nothing else!

MissMartin10 · 15/07/2015 16:52

oyster i thought that they were towards the end? im clueless though hahaSmile

ValancyJane · 15/07/2015 16:53

Scan went well, and my EDD is now 22nd Jan! Smile

All seems well so I'm really relieved. I was a bit disappointed with the scan, the monitor was facing away from me lying down, so aside from the two brief times she turned it round I just had to stare at the ceiling while OH got a 15 minute viewing. Does this happen to everyone else? I think the nice private scan at 8 weeks with the flat screen TV at the foot of the bed rather spoilt me! Total first world problem though, I'm just glad the baby seems to be doing well in there.

Any boy or girl guesses? I felt sure it was a girl, but I think it looks more boyish now!!

Oysterbabe · 15/07/2015 16:57

They are but you can sign up now. Depending where you live they can fill up.

Boosiehs · 15/07/2015 16:58

Great news all!

kep1979 · 15/07/2015 17:03

Lovely pic valancy - I can't see a nub, skull looks a bit boyish to me.

missmartin yep it is helpful knowing baby is a girl although I don't want to overdose on pink as I'm not a big fan. There were some lovely summery things, but resisted and went for stuff that was season-neutral.

oyster I signed up for NCT classes, which were filling up when I booked them. Ours start in October and are local to our new house, so hopefully I can make some real life local mummy friends.

SleepyDragon · 15/07/2015 17:12

Kep apparently the next Next sale starts Saturday too!

Valancy lovely pic, the screen is pretty much in an awkward position for most women... Dads get off better! Lol!

Just got home and have received my 20wk scan date (Yay!!!)

It's on 27 August which is good and bad..... Good because it's the day after my birthday so it'll be a lovely 'present' but Bad because my DM is coming down for my birthday and both she and DH will want to be at the scan and I'm only allowed 1 person with me.

I totally get she would want to see/meet her first grandkiddy especially living so far away but this could be where we find out if we're team Blue or Pink and that's a special moment meant for me and DH not Mum....

She won't take it good though HmmSad

Juniper44 · 15/07/2015 17:35

Valancy our babies were doing similar things! I thought the big thing was its nose to start with, but apparently it was saluting! Glad I'm not going to have a beak nosed baby Confused

Boo that sounds like a lot of stressful things. Hope your DH recovers well and everything is well with the genetic counselling.

I looked into doing an nct refresher course, simply to meet mums with similarly aged children, but they seem to be all day on Fridays in December, when I'll still be at work. Need to see if there are any alternative dates.

I'm secretly hoping for a girl, but only because I have so many pretty dresses from DD and I want to reuse them!

Juniper44 · 15/07/2015 17:36

Non-beaky!

Jan 2016 #6 ....bumps and blooming ahoy!
BeeMyBaby · 15/07/2015 17:37

valancy our nhs scan centre had a viewing screen for the Sonographer and a larger one for me & DH to look at whilst I was lying down.

missmartin as these are January babies they will be born at just the right time for the sales - think super cute bear snowsuits :) I have one from the dds that made them look like a lovely little brown teddy.

ValancyJane · 15/07/2015 17:38

Aww Juniper Yours is lovely and clear. Really cute profile in that second picture, definitely looks girly to me!

MissMartin10 · 15/07/2015 17:58

oooh good point bee never thought of the jan sales!! woo.. we'll all be waddling around the shops or too big to waddle and be on the internet.. the second option is most suitable Grin

melonface · 15/07/2015 18:03

valancy and juniper lovely scan pics!

I've got a bargain too today, maternity swimsuit from primark for £5 in the sale! Really looking forward to swimming when bump is too big for me to run anymore.

I'm undecided about NCT. My friend had a great experience and got a really good group of Mum friends but I'm worried about being judged because I plan to formula feed. I don't want a room full of strangers looking down their noses at me!

MissMartin10 · 15/07/2015 18:05

Valancy & Juniper What lovely clear pics you two Grin...
valancy - yep my epu appointment was about 10 mins i got 2 quick glances and i was jealous dp got to see it all.. when we left he was like 'omg ive just seen inside you vag' Blush
