Niggles not boggles, God damned phone!

MrsFbabyNo1 · 13/07/2015 21:48

Hi all those I forgot, still plenty of us here and waiting for our bundles from the stork (if only it was that easy)! Grin Grin

A big congrats Arete, glad your little one's here safe and well and hope you get plenty of rest and recovery time (well as much as you can with a newborn). well done and lots of love

My growth scan is 8am tomorrow, but went in for monitoring today and all fine. Asked if scan fine tomorrow that means all ok to be allowed mlu again, and fingers crossed should be. Still getting bh all day and had x3 fairly good bits of mucus when wiping today. So still a waiting game for me...

smallgreenbanana · 13/07/2015 22:00

Took a small break from being a mummy-in-waiting this evening to do some baking Grin Anyone want some crumble or some cake? Cake

LostSoulsForever · 14/07/2015 04:46

Congratulations Arete! Sorry to hear it was a little traumatic, but all worthwhile :)

Baby LSF is still hanging in there, dd is Thursday. Lots of cramps, tightenings etc which I keep getting my hopes up about but never comes to anything. Midwife predicting 3 days late & 8lb 7ozs :)

Fatty, sounds a bit rubbish about the docs, can't believe there is nothing they can do. Hope you can get something sorted!

LaLaLaaaa · 14/07/2015 06:09

Congratulations Arête!!!

LaLaLaaaa · 14/07/2015 06:10

My due date today. Cmon baby, time to come out!

GotToBeInItToWinIt · 14/07/2015 06:32

Just popping over from Facebook to let you all know that baby GotToBe was born last Thursday am weighting a hefty 8lbs 8oz. Much nicer birth than my first one! Fairly regular contractions for 24 hours before going to hospital, got to hospital at 5am and was 5cms dilated, baby born at 8.46am with the help of gas and air.
Currently remembering how difficult the first few weeks of breastfeeding are (and the sheer horror of cluster feeding) but holding on to the fact that it was worth it in the long run with DD!
Congratulations to all those who have given birth, and I hope those of you still waiting are doing well!

LaLaLaaaa · 14/07/2015 06:33

Congratulations GoToBe!!!

smallgreenbanana · 14/07/2015 07:05

Congrats arete and gotobe!

Mw today, I wanted to ask for sweep but OH isn't really keen, thinks we should just let him come when he's ready. Think I gave OH a scare during the night shouting out in pain, it was hips! Nothing exciting.

Have to actually leave the house today.

Fleurchamp · 14/07/2015 08:52

Congrats gotobe!

Clstow · 14/07/2015 09:00

Congratulations Arete (and again to Gotto Smile)

Happy DD Lala

Yes please Small - would bloody love some crumble for breakfast!

I have my 38 week app this afternoon, am going to ask if I can refuse forceps after seeing some stuff on MN and doing some pretty extensive research. Has anyone else done this? For those who've had LOs is it unrealistic coz at the time forceps are mentioned there's no time for debate?

broodylicious · 14/07/2015 09:06

clstow, it's your birth so your callSmile I remember jmo saying she would prefer a certain type of forceps to another? I don't know enough about them to have a strong opinion - had ventouse with dd - but defo worth discussing with your mw if it's a big deal to you xx

Thepurplegiraffe · 14/07/2015 09:39

Huge congratulations to Arete, hope you are both recovering well from your traumatic time.

And congrats again to Gotobe.

Another one here struggling with the constant feeding, but I know it will be worth it in the end. And as she seems to be desperate for food immediately on waking I have no idea how I would ever make up a bottle in time to aviod the house being screamed down on a regular basis.

Big hugs to everybody still waiting, we will all have our babies very soon!

WorldsBiggestGrotbag · 14/07/2015 10:10

Thanks all!
That's what I think about bottles too Purple. She goes from asleep to desperately sucking on her hands and screaming for food in seconds, I have no idea how I'd get a bottle made up in time!

broodylicious · 14/07/2015 12:33

And think of all the added faff with sterilising etc - I am far too lazy for that palaver! WinkGrin

Just had my 40 week midwife appointment (at 40+3), all OK, but baby is now back to back. I suppose when I was in work, sat at a desk that was perfect for baby being in the right position. But 2 weeks of mat leave, with my feet up (slouching watching box sets Wink ) have turned baby round. So need to stop slouching! Sweep booked for Friday, so hoping not to make the appointment... Come on baby, time to come out! Smile

MrsFbabyNo1 · 14/07/2015 15:05

Scan showed baby's growth has slowed (from consistently my 90th line to just above 50th line), only 1lb weight gain in last 4 weeks..and a low amniotic fluid level. So although I'm def not concerned re movements now, the whole combination = Dr's want more ctg monitoring, another doppler scan and not allowed mlu due to change in growth pattern (I cried a bit) and booked induction for Monday (40+4) if nothing has happened by then. Wouldnt repeat a growth scan for 2 weeks (in case was just a wobble as guess need time to show more growth!) and so by then I'd be nearly 42 weeks anyway. So might as well get baby out rather than wait if concerns.

I agreed to another sweep today to try help avoid induction done by lovely midwife - it actually didn't hurt at all this time. So guess if cervix is already favourable then that helps.

Gonna now try everything to get natural labouring going asap and some relaxation / mental preparations and positive thoughts for this last minute change of plans...

I'm not as upset now, was a fair bit earlier. But scarily it still doesn't feel like "I'm ready" to meet baby yet, although def want to sooner rather than later and I'm kinda thinking not long now til we become mummy n daddy. weird.

slightlyconfused85 · 14/07/2015 15:15

Checking in at 39+3 - pretty fed up as you can imagine. Took DD for a wander round the charity shops to find her some puzzles and we stopped off for a milkshake ...both feeling better for that. Smile Come on baby we are all ready!

fattymcfatfat · 14/07/2015 15:31

sherbert both of mine were born b2b and face first (because they are awkward and wanted to see where they were going) with just g&a. So it can be done (obviously not ideal though, just thought id give you a more positive view rather than the horror stories you get)

mrsf hope things go to your now revised plan. Just concentrate in the fact that you will be a mummy soon and that in the end where baby is born isn't all that important. Flowers

I cant get a home visit from the doctor as he has been involved in an accident, and as he is the only doctor in the surgery there is no one to cover for him. Which is why they wanted me to attend a different surgery. I have spoken to them, if I can manage to get down there I can see the nurse at my usual surgery to get iron tablets, but she is unable to prescribe pain killers. Argh! Weirdly I'm not as sore today, and I lost a bit of mucus last night so maybe things are going to start happening soon

MrsFbabyNo1 · 14/07/2015 15:39

Congrats Gotto, that lovely news to hear!!! And it's fab to have the new mums checking in telling us how you're all getting on with the new babies. Hope all is just going as best as can be.

Sherbet, is there any moves you can do to turn a baby from back to back (like to spinning babies for breech)?

MrsFbabyNo1 · 14/07/2015 15:53

Clstow, good Q. Now I'll be going hospital for birth and with potentially a slightly increased likelihood of interventions (although they did say would try help keep it as natural as poss) I'm still confused as to which I'd prefer...

  1. Ventous vs Forceps (was thinking vent over forc although that was gut feeling and hadn't researched like you)

And

  1. Allow natural tear if it was gonna happen vs episiotomy (totally still not sure on this)!! Sad

I might call to discuss with community midwife now...

GotToBeInItToWinIt · 14/07/2015 16:07

Sherbet my first was born back to back with gas and air and this one was back to back on arrival at hospital at 5am and born the right way at 8.46am so all is not lost!

Sherbet38 · 14/07/2015 16:20

Thanks fatty, mrsf and gottobe, reassuring to know b2b isn't so bad. The midwife suggested lying on my side, sitting upright, on all fours or leaning over a ball. I'll give these a go. But midwife did also say that even if baby moves they can move back out of position just as quickly. So going to try not to worry about position too much and just try and encourage baby out... so going out for a curry tonight!
