Can I just ask... how are your cervixes?!

I'm 6+4 and my cervix is still low. Is this ok?

Have an early scan on Saturday and I am bricking it.

goneswimming · 07/07/2015 21:55

creme I have no idea where my cervix usually is?! Ignorant first-timer right here!
Rhi I've barely got any symptoms other than being incredibly grumpy and slightly sensitive boobs...

cremedecacao · 07/07/2015 21:58

Gone- yes, I spent far too much time rooting about in there when TTC... Blush

rallytog1 · 07/07/2015 22:06

I'd have no idea how to find my cervix cacao! Although whenever I have a smear they always need to find the extra-long speculum to find it, so I suspect I wouldn't have much luck even if I did have a root around in there.

Has anyone's bloating and constipation gone into overdrive? I have a massive hard bump which starts under my boobs and looks just like a 6-month pregnant bump. But it's definitely all bloating. I got this last time and spent weeks 10-20 unable to eat a full meal because my digestive system basically gave up. I was really hoping I'd avoid that this time Sad

RattyCatty · 07/07/2015 22:16

rhi I didn't feel anything until week 7ish and then bam, more tired than I could imagine & waves of hangover feeling.

creme no idea about my cervix I'm afraid. Although (TMI but funny) at my last smear they nurse asked me to cough! I was mortified and confused but couldn't bring myself to ask her why! Shock

Pagerty · 07/07/2015 22:57

Ratty i will be thinking of you on the 28th Smile

Nerd my 4yr old really hit me in the stomach last week. It was tender for a couple of hours but I have enough covering to keep it safe I'm sure Wink

Rhi I am 10 weeks tomorrow and apart from a couple of positive tests and awol periods I would not know I'm pregnant. Oh and the bloated tummy but that can easily be explained by the amount of cake that seems to find its way into my mouth Blush

HerewegoagainRound4 · 07/07/2015 22:58

Goldmaplei have three children. 10, t5 and 13 months. No hassle whatsoever. It's going to the fourth that's a problem. Bigger car bigger house etc Hmm

Mawsymoo · 08/07/2015 07:03

rallytog I'm with you on the bloating and constipation. Until the last couple of days I was just bloated in the evenings but now I wake up with it - I look around 5 months pregnant and I really need a decent poop! I'm going to skip my prenatal vitamin today and just take a plain folic acid and see if that helps.

zippyswife · 08/07/2015 07:24

Hi all. Can I join? This will be dc3 all being well.

I am massive! Was nice to hear of others looking 5 months pregnant- I certainly do. I really can't hide it this time! So bloated and big. Looking forward to my 12 week scan so I can start wearing maternity clothes and tell people.

Anyone bought any nice maternity clothes? I've bought a great dress from gap in the sale and some bits in asos sale. All autumn winter stuff.

jellypi3 · 08/07/2015 08:59

welcome zippy and congrats.

Anyone heard from purdy or rafferty recently? Lots of people dropping off the thread :(

Spanoo · 08/07/2015 09:01

Hi everyone glad you're doing ok-ish! jelli congrats on your scan! stocking I hope you are doing ok and the man is rethinking his ways?

Re. Symptoms - I was fine up until the end of last week and now really struggling! So make the most of symptom free time! Those with nausea - how are you coping with the usual social/work activities? I feel like I'm going to have to let a friend down on her bday party this weekend. I know she'll be disappointed but I just can't stand the smell of alcohol/cigarettes. Not to mention my exhaustion. Also I may have to tell my supervisor today as I can't cover up this grotty feeling.

Spanoo · 08/07/2015 09:03

Oh and welcome zippy!

QuackQuackers · 08/07/2015 09:06

pagerty I had harmony last time and I'm booked in at the end of the month to have it this time too. There was a risk it wouldn't work due to my high bmi, but it did - so hoping for the same this time.

creme be careful. I'm pretty sure checking your cervix is not advised in pregnancy due to possible infection risk. So leave alone! Wink

clarabellski · 08/07/2015 09:31

Good morning everyone, I hope you are all keeping as well as you can Flowers

For those that are suffering from nausea and constipation, I've been trying to tackle the constipation over the past 3/4 days with prune juice, all-bran, fruit, forcing myself to drink more water etc and, as well as getting things moving again (Blush), it seems to have a secondary effect of making the nausea and sickness less bad. I guess it is because there is less 'down there' causing discomfort. It just feels like a mild hangover now which is easier to cope with. Perhaps one to think about (although it has been hard to force myself to eat/drink some of this stuff. Allbran is absolutely evil).

Ba8y1 · 08/07/2015 09:35

Morning all, well I think I'm on my way out again, but will be in limbo for a little while yet. Scan showed progression(Ha!) I now have a yolk sac and a blob, but no heartbeat. Measures 5 weeks and given I should be 8+5 that suggests I got a positive test a week before I conceived which would indeed be miraculous. Can't call it a missed mc yet as it has progressed, albeit v slowly, so rescan in 2 wks. Just hoping I can mc naturally before as want to avoid a d&c. Anywayz will leave the thread until the next scan and return if good news (which is somewhat unlikely). Wishing you all very happy and uneventful pregnancies and hopefully see some of you again on a more positive thread in the future! BW x

IslaMann · 08/07/2015 09:49

Oh Ba8y, I'm sorry you're facing this. Will be thinking of you.

I've been away from the thread for a few days, had a busy weekend, and have been exhausted with increased nausea since. Spent most of the day in bed yesterday. Not good as I have the estate agent coming to take photos on Mon and the house needs a serious declutter before then. But feeling a little better today so will crack on.
Hope everyone else is coping ok.

Zookeeper73 · 08/07/2015 10:11

Fingers crossed for you Ba8y, hope you get positive news at the next scan

zippyswife · 08/07/2015 10:26

Thinking of you ba8y x

CalypsoLilt · 08/07/2015 10:43

Just found this thread again (was looking in the wrong place). I'm due 14th Feb 2016. Have clicked the "watch" button so you can't get rid of me now! ;)

BananaRaces · 08/07/2015 11:24

Ratty I have been a big crying mess on no less than 5 occasions so far and for various silly reasons. I tend to have a bit of a cry when I get PMT though, so this wasn't too much of a shock (and DH is totally used to it)!

Fingers very tightly crossed for you Ba8y. Flowers

I've just had my booking in appointment this morning. 12 week scan booked for the 7th of August (when I will be 12+3)... Only 30 days to wait (feels like the longest time)! The midwife says because of my history she's going to refer me to the Obstetrician... Which has made me a bit nervous that I might end up being consultant-led, but I'm just going to keep telling myself that it is much too early to say. I'm also a bit less nauseous today - Woohoo!!! Grin

CalypsoLilt · 08/07/2015 11:31

BananaRaces is it bad being consultant led? I'm under CLC for my mental health.

cremedecacao erm.....cervix question, what the? Do you just put a finger up? I'd be scared of my finger nail catching!! Is this something I should know how to do??

CalypsoLilt · 08/07/2015 11:33

PS I'm bored at work so apologies for clogging up this thread already

BananaRaces · 08/07/2015 11:35

Calypso It isn't bad being consultant-led at all, but I think if your birth is consultant (rather than midwife) led then you have to be more closely monitored which means you can't use a birthing pool or labour in certain positions.... I could be wrong here though (in fact I hope I am) because I am a total newbie who doesn't know much!! Blush

CalypsoLilt · 08/07/2015 11:40

thanks banana I hope the Psychiatrist isn't interested in the labour itself and just my mental health before and after. Fingers crossed because I would love a water birth in a maternity unit (not a hospital? whatever they're called).

Pagerty · 08/07/2015 12:19

I am seriously considering Harmony Quack I am 10 weeks today so need to give it some serious thought quite quickly.

Calypso I think it depends on the reasons you are consultant lead. I was last time and was allowed to have a waterbirth. Unfortunately I only got as far as pool full and bikini on before I was whisked to theatre but I was almost there!
