stocking thats so shit. Have you got close friends/family near you that you could tell about the pregnancy so they can support you with the worry about everything baby-wise AND dealing with your dhs behaviour?

NoMontagues · 06/07/2015 19:13

Hi iris and womb congratulations to you both Smile

overreactionemoticon · 06/07/2015 19:14

Oh no stocking, so sorry for you. I don't want to make this about me but I have some experience of what you're going through (with xh) and I know how hard it is to go through what should be such a happy time alone and unsupported. Big hugs to you and please feel free to vent on here.

Sickness has been awful here. We told my parents last weekend so they could help out a bit, they've been great actually. Dp also wanted me to tell my boss because I've been so ill, so she knows, and then we felt bad that his parents didn't know so weve also told them. Still seems way too early, I mc at this stage last time.

Had a couple of days of feeling a bit better at the end if last week but today the nausea is back with a vengeance. Only been sick 4 times today though.

RattyCatty · 06/07/2015 20:23

stocking I'm so sorry that sounds an utterly shit situation. Do you have close friends/family near to help/support/lend an ear? Flowers

rallytog1 · 06/07/2015 20:44

Oh Stocking, I'm livid on your behalf Angry Hope you have some family or friends you can rely on for support in RL - we're all here for you too.

Welcome lovely newcomers. I've missed a couple of days so am not doing well at keeping track.

Raaaaaah · 06/07/2015 20:56

stocking you sound so composed. What a twit. Not what you need at all at anytime, least of all now. How the heck are you managing?

Hi Iris, at least you got to miss some of the excruciating 4-12 week period by finding out a bit later Smile.

Welcome Womb, glad you are enjoying the nausea-bleurgh!

Mirabal · 06/07/2015 21:39

overreaction if you're being sick four times a day on a good day I would worry about dehydration, you might have or be heading towards HG. Can you get some antiemetics from GPs to help you keep stuff down? I was sick five times on Sat and it was horrendous, but a good day for me is about 2/3 pukes. Signed off work and on meds, tried a few and trying to get a different one now. Lots of support on hyperemesis thread on pregnancy talk Flowers

Poetschild · 06/07/2015 22:02

Hello, haven't been on for a while. Wishing strength to all those going through worries and difficult times ????

StockingFullOfCoal · 07/07/2015 00:34

Chirp away ladies, please, it cheers me up!

DHs oldest friend came to see me this evening. Friend wants to have Stern Words with DH this weekend. He's absolutely gobsmacked. He mowed my garden and made a cuppa. He's brilliant. He has the same MH diagnosis as me, I'm the only person he knows with it and so we bonded really well when we first met. He's nipping round again tomorrow to finish off the garden. It was really overgrown as DH has neglected it and I despise gardening. He's one of those fabulously neutral, can see it from both sides sorta people. But thinks DH is out of order and should be grovelling.

My DSisters have been good (4 out of 7 have popped in the last week) and the ladies at Church who I'm close to have really helped.

I'm struggling to sleep but thats nothing bloody new The house is a shit tip. But I have my Game Face on because I simply have no choice. The sun gets up every morning, and so must I. in reality I'm a sobbing hormonal mess

We're still on 5am wakeups with dd's top teeth coming through, joy! Welcome to all the newbies here.

Christianmama - you have reminded me. I fell over 3 times in the first trimester when I was pregnant with dd. I slipped down some rocks at a waterfall, fell flat on my face in a restaurant and then twisted my ankle in a tube station. DH thinks that clumsiness is an early pregnancy symptom for me! I stumbled this time and we both thought yes I must be pregnant!
Anyway, I definitely buy into the seed in a jar of jam theory. They are so small and well insulated. As long as you're not having any bleeding or cramps as a result then I am sure you are totally fine!

AbFab86 · 07/07/2015 06:39

Stocking what a shit situation your DH has put you in Sad Glad to hear you have a sensible sounding friend though.

I haven't posted in a while but all good here. I'm back in the UK for the summer now. Morning sickness on a turbulent 7hr plane journey was a new experience Confused And the nausea is definitely making its presence felt daily now. Determined not to let it ruin my holidays though! Thinking of booking in for a scan at 10 weeks to put my mind at rest before my 12 week one. DH thinks it's silly. I think it's necessary.

overreactionemoticon · 07/07/2015 06:47

Thanks Mirabel. When I had hg with dd I was sick continuously, couldn't eat or drink anything without vomiting so I suppose this doesn't seem as bad in comparison. I'm not dehydrated yet and am still managing to eat and go to work (albeit at about 40% performance) but maybe I will try to fit in a visit to the gp if you think it sounds like I could need meds. Which are you on? I found mine before didn't do much for the nausea which is theworst bit...I can cope with actually being sick but feeling like I'm constantly on the verge, even after I just have been, is horrible!

Stocking glad dhs friend is on side.

Littleoakhorn · 07/07/2015 07:11

Wow stocking do you really have seven sisters? That sound lovely Smile

I'm sure that the situation with dh will resolve itself, especially if his best friend is on your side.

Hugs to all of you feeling sick today. My dd just insisted that I read her a book all about poo, with really accurate illustrations. Not pleasant!

Littleoakhorn · 07/07/2015 07:12

*sounds, not sound!

haquoi123 · 07/07/2015 08:32

stocking I can't believe you have to go through this now, I'm so sorry! I'm really pleased to hear that people are rallying around you though. Absolute best of luck with the midwives and your results today. Do you have someone who can go with you?

Can anyone help me get the advice 'little and often' into a format that I can use when not wanting to eat at all? Eating feels like a chore (the thought of food makes me nauseous), so I only do it when I have to - but yesterday I vomited from sheer hunger so that's no good... I tend to get a good breakfast down me and fluid are ok, it's just the solid stuff.

haquoi123 · 07/07/2015 08:33

The other thing is that if I eat too much I also feel sick. And my cravings make me feel worse /I don't crave anything...

BadgieBear · 07/07/2015 10:25

Stocking I'm so sorry to hear you are having such a difficult time but am glad to hear you have a good team there for you IRL Flowers

Haquoi - I'm also a massive puker - I consider anything less than 10 vomits to be a good day Grin.

I have a stash of plain biscuits/crackers/bread-type things, fruit and some gummy sweeties. Either myself or DP box/bag them up into little snacks so when I feel hungry - or less sick - I eat them. I try to have a snack every 2-3 hours and a drink every 20-30 mins.

Personally, I find cold/frozen grapes, watermelon, very cold sliced Granny Smith apples and ice lollies relatively inoffensive but do find I go off things instantly. We have so much cereal I have wanted and then immediately can't face....oops Hmm

If you are good with fluids have you tried more nutritious fluids? Milkshakes, full fat milk, soups, smoothies etc? Could be an easier way for you to get calories in.

The HG ladies are very wise and have some great advice too.

Zookeeper73 · 07/07/2015 10:41

Oh no stocking, sorry your DH is being so crappy, hope he gets his shit together soon! Glad you have support though :)

haquoi123 · 07/07/2015 11:03

Badgie thanks for this! Although I have to say I'm nowhere near as bad as you - I'm not suffering with hg, it's more nausea than vomiting. Have you considered medication if you're suffering that badly? I'll definitely give the liquid food some thought, andand thethe packages sound good, thanks

Rufus200 · 07/07/2015 12:25

9 weeks and I'm going to have to go and buy some cheap bigger bras. My boobs are killing me, they feel like they have been punched! I was only small so sleep in vests with no support but that is going to have to change, they have literally doubled in size! The biggest prob is getting up in the night for the toilet and having to go up and down the stairs with them bouncing, having to hold them to my chest. Anyone recommend any tops or bras to sleep in that aren't uncomfortable?

rebeccax2 · 07/07/2015 12:32

Ha ha.. I know who you are herewegoagainround4 :-)

twinsandapenguin · 07/07/2015 12:43

Rufus I had the M&S vests with built in support to sleep in past time and they were really good. I couldn't even bear the shower water on my boobs last time but they have been totally fine this time. Probably the BF effect!

Brummiegirl15 · 07/07/2015 12:47

I'm struggling at night with my boobs. I cannot lie on my front so have to flip from side to side and it's very uncomfortable!!!

BadgieBear · 07/07/2015 12:48

You're welcome Haquoi - hope it helps! Smile

Have a stash of meds, find they all put me to sleep. I'd rather manage the sickness myself and keep the meds for if I'm really bad. My GP is happy for me to monitor my symptoms and dip my urine at home.

Bit fed up of the sight of the inside of our toilet bowl though - these threads prove to me there is life outside our bathroom!!! Grin

monkerina · 07/07/2015 12:53

Rufus, mine are pretty big anyway (32F) and I normally sleep in a Primark sports bra... about £4, keeps them comfy Smile

Brummie that sucks, expect she feels like a proper arse though because you clearly didn't want to, nor should have had to, tell her- I would feel awful if I'd put you in that situation!

Stocking, stay strong.

Since my successful scan with hb at around 6+2 last week, have got increasingly worried... feel nauseous and tired but boobs haven't grown at all, whereas in 1st pregnancy (mmc) boobs got massive and was tired but no nausea, just went off coffee. So I've booked a scan for tomorrow afternoon and am trying not to stress too much...
