im deffo finding out because im too nosy! but think we will keep it a secret from everyone else because if its a girl i dont want a billion pink things!

on a completely irrelevant note i just found out i got a 1st for my degree!! Grin Grin might have to crack open the shloer tonight Grin

NoMontagues · 03/07/2015 09:03

Well done primary what an excellent result!

nerd you have freaked me out too. But thinking about it, the mc rate would be a lot higher if getting up from a sitting position could cause one. Bed rest would be obligatitory for the first trimester!

However the non-rational part of my brain is now clocking every twinge Sad

I had a mc in 2005 (this week in 2005 in fact) and the first I knew of it was a bleed, no advance warning.

birdbrain21 · 03/07/2015 09:08

I've got my booking in 12.30 today but still really stressed about the twinge I had yesterday. It wasn't a stretching pain I know what that feels like didn't hurt just freaked out it may have been the placenta unattaching. I'm going to try get her to rush my scan through cas I don't think I can cope with this stress for more then a couple of days. I was trying to be so relaxed and chilled about everything this time but niw I'm so worried something has gone wrong without me realising

haquoi123 · 03/07/2015 09:10

Congrats primary!

I don't want to find out but DH does. He really struggled to feel an attachment to ds when he died so we're pulling out all the stops to enjoy this baby for as long as we have it. We've left it that we'll see what happens and both are willing to compromise.

At the moment I'm calling the bubba a 'she' but it might change later!

Stepawayfromthezebras · 03/07/2015 09:28

Congratulations Primary that's very impressive! Well done you! Flowers

We won't be finding out, I'm being a hippy and feeling a weird connection to my mum, my grannies, great g's and so on at the moment, like I'm the latest in the long line. I want to feel the surprise that they all felt on giving birth and finding out (Must be the hormones, I'm not normally so woo about things!)

MayFlowers16 · 03/07/2015 09:36

Nice one Primary, congratulations! Wine

Great to read about all the healthy heartbeats too Smile

Belated birthday greetings Isla

We're probably going to find out the sex of this baby. Dd has so many clothes so it would be good to know whether they will be needed again or not. (we're definitely stopping at two).
With dd, we did try to find out at the 20w scan but she was giving nothing away! In the end we were quite glad about that as we could look forward to the surprise. But I can also see the point that it might help you to bond with the baby.

I'll soon be ten weeks and still no scan date. Apparently it can take up to two weeks AFTER the booking in appointment to come through. Only had my booking in appointment on Monday Confused

jellypi3 · 03/07/2015 09:41

birdbrain and others worrying. Please don't. You would literally have rip your muscles in order to "pop" your baby out. They liken it to a strawberry seed in jam. No matter how much you shake the jam Jar that seen ain't moving. Please don't worry, there's no proof that stretching causes MC. Early Mc's are normally caused by genetic issues that cause your body to reject the embryo. It's just a protection method. So please please don't worry or stress.

birdbrain21 · 03/07/2015 09:48

Jelli thanks I do know that just have read stories of people who felt a weird movement and later found out they'd miscarried with no signs. I want to tell myself it's nothing but then in case something has gone wrong I'm trying to prepare myself for disappointment...
dd is bored at the moment so trying to keep her busy and stop worrying. Hopefully after I've been to the midwife I'll relax again!
Have a good day ladiesCake

Mumof1sofar · 03/07/2015 09:53

Sorry I haven't caught up yet but quick poll - of those of you who have had early scans how many had them vaginally & how many abdominally & how many weeks were you? I'm thinking of booking one when I'm 7+6 but worried they'll do it vaginally. Tia.

Zookeeper73 · 03/07/2015 09:54

Go Primary, that is a fantastic result, congratulations!

I don't want to find out the gender, but OH is good at reading ultrasounds so he may be able to tell. Can't have him knowing and not me!!

Rufus200 · 03/07/2015 09:54

We will be finding out what we are having by 12 weeks as I'm having the blood test. DH really wants a boy and I really want a girl but both of us will be happy with a healthy baby. DH never ever sat still as a child and drove his parents mad so we both feel we need the extra time to prepare ourselves incase we have a mini version of him! Although I was a diva monster and refused to be parted from my mum.

eggsnbeans · 03/07/2015 10:03

Mumo - I had abdo scan at 7w so you should be fine :)

Phoenix80 · 03/07/2015 10:05

Congratulations primary Wine

We'll be finding out the sex. We have 2 ds' already and no spare bedroom so someone's going to have to share depending on what we have. We found out with ds2 but didn't tell anyone else so it was still a surprise to them but not sure we'll do that again because ds' will probably tell everyone Grin

jellypi3 · 03/07/2015 10:19

Just try not to worry bird, I know there are horror stories but for every bad story there are most likely hundreds, if not thousands of good ones that we don't hear about. Think about athletes and runners and people who do yoga etc, they stretch in all sorts of positions. Fingers crossed for you Hun x

I will be finding out the sex. The way I see it, it's a surprise still, just 20 weeks earlier. We won't tell people though unless they ask to be told because I know some people like the surprise.

Oh and my early scan at 6+3 was via dildocam. But it was fine.

Rufus200 · 03/07/2015 10:19

I weighed myself this morning and I've put on 8lbs already (8w+5) and gone up a dress size! Hoping once the nausea settles I will be able to control my diet a bit more! I really don't want to put on more then 28lbs but seeing as baby plus placenta plus fluid is approx 21lbs I think I'm going to have to face facts that it will be much more then that!

purdiepipesup · 03/07/2015 10:25

Ooo, do you like Zipporah the, Rally? Would you mind Zippy?

Been sent home from work as apparently I 'look like dog shit'.

birdbrain21 · 03/07/2015 10:28

Thanks jelli I'm feeling much calmer then I was before, think I just needed a kick up the backside back to reality!

We didn't find out last time. I thought it was a boy but was really surprised when it turned out to be a girl and really happy as I know you shouldn't have preferences but really I wanted a girl. Think we'll find out this time I need to know if we're reusing dd stuff or if I can go shopping! We also live in a two bedroom flat so have kept dd room neutral incase we have a boy who will have to share with her so would be nice to know if we're having another girl and can decorate her room

NoMontagues · 03/07/2015 10:28

I'm 10 weeks today. I can't believe it. I have my scan this Thurs and I'm absolutely bricking it.

Have to go to a family party on Saturday night and I genuinely look four months gone, don't know what on earth I'm going to wear Confused

purdiepipesup · 03/07/2015 10:30

Mum, why don't you want the dildocam?

Rufus, good luck with that! Grin

Stepawayfromthezebras · 03/07/2015 10:34

When I had ultrasounds for my fertility problems I almost preferred the dildo cam (I had one of each) because I didn't have to sit in the waiting room desperate for a wee Blush

monkerina · 03/07/2015 10:41

Congrats for scans, first and birthday! Flowers

We'll def be finding out the sex. Too nosy to wait.

Mum, it'd probably be abdominal but dildocam is absolutely fine. Doesn't hurt, isn't even particularly uncomfortable, gets a clear picture in early pregnancy, and you don't have to sit around waiting needing a wee!

RattyCatty · 03/07/2015 10:41

bird I have had some sharp pains when suddenly & quickly standing up which I'm trying not to freak out about but obviously am

I'm feeling increasingly anxious at the moment so just trying to give myself a pep talk & think what will be will be. I'm 9+4 and private scan booked for 11+2 so not too long to wait.

Congrats on an excellent result primary!

mumof1 I had a scan at the EPU to date my pregnancy at 7+1 and it was vaginal, but absolutely fine. Just a thin, lubed up dildo!

birdbrain21 · 03/07/2015 11:16

ratty sharp pains are probably stretching pains they don't freak me out because I had them all the way through last time so I'm used to them I was nervous because the feeling I had didn't hurt Confused I know there's no arguing with a pregnant ladies logic!

clarabellski · 03/07/2015 11:28

Hi everyone, its great to hear about all of the positive scans and congratulations to primarynoodle on your degree results.

I had a scan at the EPAU this morning because I've been having brown discharge (TMI) for the past few days and my GP recommended I get checked. They found a heartbeat and estimate that I'm 8weeks and 2 days pregnant. Their lack of concern at the brown discharge has made me much calmer. It's disconcerting to see your body produce something like that.

Today we are pregnant Flowers x

Zookeeper73 · 03/07/2015 11:55

Great news Clara.

I have to ring up tomorrow to book a dating scan, should be fun trying to find a time they can do it when we can both be there as OH works rotating shifts and I work normal hours.
