eca · 22/11/2006 11:32

oh poor you CFK

Cars are evil when they go wrong. And I can't believe they wont cover it coz it's electrical! That's shocking.

And no sleep too, hope you have a better night tonight, or better still time for a nap today!

geordiemacminx · 22/11/2006 11:33

Cars really are rubbish!!!!!

Pleased you got your scan date, mines is 7/12 at 7pm.. I'll only be 19+2 but its a private scan, and I was too impaitent to wait another week!!!

weeonion · 22/11/2006 11:37

hey folks...

cfk - poor you. cars - we need them but as my dad sys - money buckets. hope it works out babe.

my scan = 29.12.will be 20 weeks and like GMM - stumping up for this privately as we all know the scottish situation with scans.
have been a bit of a political animal about this and just heard that my MP is asking the health minister a question about this in the scottish parliament!!

geordiemacminx · 22/11/2006 11:46

You scan is not the 29.12... thats you dp's (and my) birthday!!!!!! Ya div!!! xxx

hotlipsmummy · 22/11/2006 11:46

grrr at your car problems cfk. Anything techy I have absolutely no understandning off but nearly everything on a car these days is electrical so how can they not cover it??!!!

We have just bought a new car too - a Passat estate - with lovely "toys" on it like heated seats, I like a warm bum!!! DP feels like an old man in an estate but such is life.

Anyone started watching the new series of House Of Tiny Tearaways? Am totally addicted already and obviously making loads of "arm chair" comments.

Glad to hear scana are all going ok at the moment. A week til mine!!

btw - please (beg beg) can a more experienced mner start a new thread, this one is now too big for me to log into at home.

runnyhabbit · 22/11/2006 11:52

CFK - did you buy it privately, or from a garage? and was it brand new, pre-reg or used? and what date did you buy it? Sorry for the questions, but for my sins, I used to work in the car trade, and I will certainly try and help if I can

1becomes3 · 22/11/2006 12:09

hello all. Had to have a nap this morning feeling sooooooo tired, even though Ihave been going to bed at 9 o'clock.

Yeah for all the scans and bubblez hamburger

eca your scan date is the same as mine awell, and don't worry your not the only one who is worried about this pg, I also had threatened MC at the beginning and was and still am dreading something going wrong.
Try and think positive, you have made it this far.

loved your rant CFK and at the car people.
I always feel bad about swearing on mn, don't ask me why.

weeonion · 22/11/2006 13:15

GMM - u r indeed right. my scan is on the 29.11

i am a div and a heck of alot more today. it has been a long one from a 5.30am start.

heard bad news bout future funding for my project / job. i would like to leave the office and hide under the duvet. either that or murder my boss.

Tili · 22/11/2006 13:19

Hello every one

Hope all is well.Have only skimmed thread quickly dd is a little poorly so my time is taken.
1b3 to hear about the digger incident cant imagine what that must of been like.

Congrats to those having scans mine is next thurs at the moment im excited but on the day im always sick with worry. I can never look at the moniter until the sonographer says she can see the heart beating i just stare at the ceiling as i wont look at dh incase he looks worried!

Can i ask has anyone ever had the hauck infinity pushchair with stroller. We want a new pram and this has caught our eye but have never heard anything about them any info gratefully recieved!!

Anyway better go take care all xx

Tili · 22/11/2006 13:21

sorry meant hauck infinity pushchair with carrycot.
I cant multi task whilst pg !!! as this shows lol

doobydoo · 22/11/2006 13:30

Whoo hoo eca.Are you going to find out if boy or girl.We are as we are crap with names.LI have decided i don't like ANY..so we will be able to narrow it down abit.
CFK..sometimes modern technology is a pain in the butt.A friend of mine got a brand new car and had to drive back from her hols in Germany with the window down...all because of electricalsElectricals have a lot to answer for.Hope you get it sorted.Hope we are all om today.I was going to correct the 'om'as i meant to put 'ok' but i think OM sounds better.

geordiemacminx · 22/11/2006 13:31

Sorry WO... didnt mean to pick on you.. you obviously having a rubbish day {{{hug}}}

Personally I would recommend the duvet option... although the satisfaction may not be as great to murder, I'm almost certain the punishments are less severe... you dont want to have your baby in prison!! There is a suggested meeting on the scotland scan thread.

No advice on prams here Tili, cant get my head around the whole thing at the moment - 3in1's 2 in1's, travel systems blah blah blah

twinkle183 · 22/11/2006 13:49

Afternoon all!!

I am nackered was up all night with ds - took him to the drs this morning - ear infection!!! I am just waiting for him to fall asleep so I can have a crafty nap.. Having trouble keeping my temper though!!

Sorry to hear about your car CFK I had the same problems with my scenic.. have finally got rid now, and got myself a reliable Peugeot not that any car nowadays is reliable!!

My dh is home after being away for 3 wks can't wait to see him and then we have our scan tomorrow.. will definately be finding out if baby allows us.. have a feeling its a boy???

doobydoo my dh is from Whitehaven, which is an hour from Carlisle!!!

Congrats on all scans - anyone heard from Pesha as she has her scan today!!!

Welcome all newcomers and congrats on peoples scans.

Twinkle183 (20+4)

eca · 22/11/2006 13:55

1b3 thanks for the encouragement. Anyone else got a scan on 8th with dooby, 1b3 and me!?!

dooby, we can't decide whether to find out sex. I know what you mean about picking names. We are useless at making big decisions anyway and knowing would narrow down the choice. Not to mention getting lots of baby things in the Jan sales!

Tili - sorry can't really advise in anyway on pushchairs as this is bambino no.1 for us! Am totally bamboozled by the whole pushchair/pram/travel system/car seat thing. I think we're going to have to go and get it all explained to us at Mothercare before we buy one on ebay! Naughty I know...

twinkle183 · 22/11/2006 13:59

Hi guys - I am a bit of a pushchair/pram expert!!! Depends what sort of thing you are after and what you want to get out of your pushchairs/prams.. To me my pushchair is like a car - I walk alot so it matters to me what the best value for money is, whether the baby is comfortable and so on... so if you want advice I will help best I can

geordiemacminx · 22/11/2006 14:15

Okay then twinkle... you are going to be sorry you said that....

Pretty much drive everywhere, although planning on taking little one for some nice walks, once we have driven to nice places. Planning on buying a bigger car so space not so much of a problem.. like the idea of something that is going to last us more than a few months, would prefer to spend a bit more and get something that was all singing all dancing.

3in1? 2in1? Travel system? IS THERE ANY DIFFERENCE????

Told you that you would be sorry!!

Bramshott · 22/11/2006 15:05

Hi guys.

Just wanted to report a result in my pram/car seat dilemmas: last week I had a buggy with a broken strap, and no car seat. This week I have a set of replacement straps for my 4 year old buggy free of charge courtesy of a lovely man at Babystyle, and a new car seat that a friend is getting rid of which fits the clips for mounting it on my buggy to make a travel system!! How fab is that!! I will have to pay her for the car seat but it beats going to the shops with the buggy in tow to try them out on the mounting clips! Hesitate to say that I am nearly at the stage where all I need to get is a pack of nappies and we're off! Damn, and I wanted to go sale shopping! Nodoubt will think of loads of other things we need - actually a chest of drawers to put all the baby stuff out of the loft into wouldn't go amiss, but maybe I can get one off freecycle?

1becomes3 · 22/11/2006 15:45

eca and dooby, know exactly what you mean about the whole name thing, even though we know the flavours we can't decide or think of any blue names, pink names we have loads and can't decide which one.
At least we have some time to try and make our decision.

We just have to hope that it's not 2 blue's in there as we can't even think of one name let alone 2. Last scan was at 15 week's and not 100%

runnyhabbit · 22/11/2006 16:13

Bramshott - what a result

We're 90% sure of a boys name, but cannot for the life of us think of any girls names. Think we might actually have to buy a baby name book...

CornflakeKid · 22/11/2006 16:16

Car stuff sorted! Dealer has agreed to pay for parts and me labour at a local garage so don't have to go all the way to kidderminster again to get it sorted/courtesy car blah blah - I'm happy - they're happy - just shows despite being completely hopping mad, being nice pays off! Thanks for your offer runnyhabit - bought second hand through garage - with 3 month warranty that covers mechanical breakdown - next level up covers electrical and I didn't get that - so quite pleased they are paying for the parts.

I went to pick up my glider chair from Bristol and got stuck in traffic, then got lost, ds2 needed lunch and wee (so did I!) - round trip of 3 hours! (20 miles away...) Completely knackered now - just need to get through football with boys then I am going to BED.

and its chucking with rain - and the chair is still in the car...I am never ever going to buy something on ebay ever again that needs collecting - never ever!

When was pg with ds1 - had a great NCT antenatal group - we still see eachother at least fortnightly - but some have moved away - we are having a big meet up on 2 december - really looking forward to it!

Must go turn the sausages!

CornflakeKid · 22/11/2006 16:17

runny - we have decided on a girls name - Erin - but have no boys name - despite a 500 baby names book - we are completely stumped...although I quite like Hector!

Any better ideas for boys names greatly appreciated.

CornflakeKid · 22/11/2006 16:18

and...dh has bet me £100 that I can't keep baby sex a secret - do mn'rs count???!!!

bubblez · 22/11/2006 16:32

Hiya all

thanks for all your comments about my scan.. xx
glad that yours went well hiedi

Haven't read through all of the posts but does anyone know if pesha has had her scan yet?? Pesha you there?? How did it go??

Oh and good luck to twinkle and zazas with your scans tomorrow...xx

Have a stinking cold now that dp and dd have just decided that they would share with me. [feeling sorry for self emotion] Dp was dosed up to the nines with flu medicine when he had it, but being pregers means I can't.. Other than vicks and paracetamol..

Any wonder remedies that are ok to take in pregnacy sujestions will be greatly appreciated..

20+2
xzx

runnyhabbit · 22/11/2006 16:37

So glad you got car sorted. Such a relief. We've got a battle going on with Currys at the moment, and have got to the point where we have got Consumer Direct involved.

I don't think mn counts for flavour telling buts that only because I'm nosey! And I promise I won't tell your dh so you'll win your bet. Erin is lovely. Our favourite boys name is William, but I'm quite liking Martha for a girl. Dh is not convinced. Although he hated ds name when I first suggested to him, and by time he was born, he loved it!

mammyjo · 22/11/2006 16:40

Hi all. congrats to all who have had lovely scans in the last few days and lots of luck for those yet to come!

Bubblez, I had a vile cold last week and the midwife suggested hot blackcurrant and honey. A bit sickly but quite nice really. It did help my sore throat. As for the rest of it (bunged up etc) not much you can do. I asked if I could have lockets or something like that and was told not to. The midwife just said take paracetamol and nothing else really.

Hope everyone is ok today. CFK, good news about your car but crap that they wont cover it. It only just left their bloody showroom! Also, mners definitely dont count in sharing the flavour of your bean. We wont tell anyone, honest!!
