That's a bit strange... did you have really irregular cycles?

I just felt the first proper, unmistakable kicks tonight! Grin

staceyr23 · 04/07/2015 20:10

No I was like clockwork which is why midwife is now querying it as got a new one....awww that's awesome I keep getting different feeling in belly today mum says it's baby

sharonthewaspandthewineywall · 04/07/2015 20:41

Still not feeling any movement and lost more weight Hmm starting to worry now

Cheshirehello79 · 04/07/2015 21:25

Aww metal you're making me jealous now beanster is still not playing ball.....

chopsface · 06/07/2015 07:48

Sharon are you still being sick? That could be a reason why you've not put on any weight yet. I've only put on about a kilo and I'm 17w today. No bump to speak of yet either! I think my tall frame is giving baby a place to hide for longer!

Welcome Stacy very odd about your changing due dates. How many weeks did you think you were compared to your measurements?

Metalhead · 06/07/2015 10:08

Have you had your 16 week midwife appt yet sharon? If you're worried at all it might be worth giving them a call to see what they say.

How are you feeling chops? I've finally started to feel a bit better (even managed to stay up past 10pm twice at the weekend!) apart from when I'm tired.

I'm wearing leggings and a dress today and definitely look pregnant! Baby was having a good old kick about too on the train this morning which was lovely. (Just like DD1, she was always a wriggler when I was on a train Smile).

chopsface · 06/07/2015 13:00

I'm feeling much better now thanks metal still on phased return to work this week, which I'm loving! Lol! I feel chuffed if I stay up beyond 10pm too!

metal was it you who is being 'watched' for mental health issues? I'm being 'watched' now too coz I got tearful at the gp's last week.

Cheshirehello79 · 06/07/2015 13:44

Chops great that feeling much better. I must say I feel pretty ok now but I'm just working from home due to the heat and just so that if I need to take a rest or walk I can do that. Work have been super great.

Metal I've been feeling more flutters and wriggles since yesterday so I'm so looking forward to first proper kick . They say with your first it takes time maybe that's why.

I still don't look pregnant well I'm quite tall that might be the reason why and can't wait yo properly start showing in fact I don't even use public transport but tempted to get on the bus and see if I'll be offered priority setting :-)

Metalhead · 06/07/2015 13:52

No that wasn't me chops. Really, they're "watching" you because you cried at the doctors?! What prompted the tears, if you don't mind saying? I have got a note from my first antenatal visit where the midwife wrote "metal is feeling anxious because of previous mc" but that's all.

Cheshire my tummy has never been really flat, especially after I had DD1, so I guess that's why I'm already showing. Don't worry, you'll get there soon enough! (But don't expect to be offered a seat, some people are very good at ignoring pregnant bellies...)

sharonthewaspandthewineywall · 06/07/2015 15:49

Had my 16 week appt today and heart the heart beat so very GrinGrinGrin
I have felt movement but don't think it's baby more wind?

chopsface · 06/07/2015 16:20

Yay for heartbeat Sharon! Am I the only one who didn't get to hear the heart beat at their 16w check?!

I was crying because I felt so bloody ill lol! I was saying I was too sick/tired to do things like go out for food with hubby or go for a swim. And that hubby wasn't being that supportive around the house with cleaning etc. I've had previous MH issues but not been on anti depression drugs for 10 years. I had a wobbly a few years ago but I found alternative ways to get through it which have seen me through no worries, mindfulness and CBT stuff. I did say to GP I'm sure I'll be fine once I feel better bit she wanted to refer me to the practice MH nurse in case I was at risk of ante/post natal depression. So now they are keeping their beady eyes on me lol! I refused the nurse by the way!

sharonthewaspandthewineywall · 06/07/2015 17:55

I wasn't expecting to tbh as I've heard many areas don't listen at 16 weeks.
I hope they made you feel they are keeping an eye on you in a kind caring way and not a punitive way I mean ffs we all have really tearful emotional days it's normal when you're hormonal!

Metalhead · 06/07/2015 19:27

That's great news sharon!

chops hopefully it'll just be a case of asking how you are every now and then, I'm sure it's nothing more sinister. I remember at DD's 2-year check up the health visitor asked how I was feeling, and I said I'd had PND but was generally feeling a lot better. Few days later I got a call from another HV asking to come round for a chat as apparently I "was struggling", but I just explained that that was not actually what I'd said and politely declined. Never heard anything back after that.

Cheshirehello79 · 06/07/2015 20:15

Chops - I think it's good that they are keeping an eye on you and looking after you. I've read some stories in here that they can't even get appointments so don't take it as a negative

Sharon - great news my midwife didn't let me listen to heart beat at 16 weeks saying it wasn't their normal procedure. I'm due for my 20 weeks app next week and can't wait - a bit anxious cause I refused Down syndrome and Edward blah blah test so hope all is well.
Have they told you your due date then ?

sharonthewaspandthewineywall · 06/07/2015 21:57

My due date is 12th December

Cheshirehello79 · 07/07/2015 14:00

I just couldn't wait to reach my iPad and report

" I've officially had my first baby kicks today"

As I currently work from home every lunch time I do 40 min workout and 10 min yoga mainly breathing techniques. Just finished exercising and felt the first nudge wasn't sure if it was just spasm or ... And then felt it again and again ..... It's was like opening a Christmas present that you were anxiously waiting for ...

sharonthewaspandthewineywall · 07/07/2015 17:36

Aww that's lovely Cheshire

Metalhead · 08/07/2015 14:04

Great news cheshire!

I've not felt any kicks at all today... would I look very silly if I rang the midwives for reassurance? I'm pretty sure it's normal to have irregular movements at the beginning, but can't stop the worry creeping back in already.

Cheshirehello79 · 08/07/2015 15:27

@ Metal I would think at this early stage it might not be consistent. I've not felt any today but flutters have started occurring a bit constant so I would say that sort of re-assurance.

How was it like with your other dd? I would assume it forms a pattern. I've got no clue as its first child and just waiting anxiously for every bit of change.

Anyone been on their 20 weeks scan yet and anything to report. Must say I'm looking forward to mine but a bit nervous as well.

Metalhead · 08/07/2015 16:11

Panic over, the little pickle finally decided to give me a few nudges about half an hour ago! Smile I can't remember when I started to feel regular movements with DD1 cheshire as it was so long ago. Still got two weeks to wait for my 20 week scan.

MissMrsMummy · 08/07/2015 18:30

Cheshire which workout is it you're doing? Well done for sticking to it! I'm impressed.

Cheshirehello79 · 08/07/2015 20:23

@ Miss I do different ones my favourite is Emma Bord second trimester but I also so do (Befit) as they have short second trimester exercises. my yoga is by Lotus flower . I just pick and choose from YouTube.

chopsface · 08/07/2015 21:26

Get you and your keep fit. I have started to feel really breathless this week. I don't like it. Is it normal? Walking to the bus stop my usual pace has me panting and so does getting undressed for bed!

No flutters in my tummy apart from shocking wind that I have tonight! Tmi! Lol!

Cheshirehello79 · 08/07/2015 23:16

Well chops I didn't lift a finger on my first trimester due to being poorly so trying my best now and as I'm working from home I've got flexibility so I wake up put my gym gear on and don't have excuses then. I must admit as I don't go out much now and in the car if I'm out and about I took upon to try excercise .

Must admit I do get breathless at times but you can pause and do it in your own pace as long as I've done something for an hour I don't care. Additionally; when I had the headaches and that I was told about preeclampsia and got quite worried. Apparently exercises are your best chance.

If I were you I would take my time if you walk a lot as apparently you're not allowed to raise your heart beat above so it's catch 22.

We can all do it ladies :-) p.s after finding out beanster does a bit of movement after exercising that's my motivation at the moment.

kelman13 · 09/07/2015 08:12
