We're going to Cyprus for a week - bring on the sunshine! Grin

The doctor I saw yesterday said they won't make any final on the Elcs until 34 weeks, though I'm hoping I might persuade them at my next appointment at 28 weeks; don't really want to have to explain myself all over again twice...

chopsface · 23/07/2015 19:41

Hi guys!

Hope your toothache has gone Cheshire I've had no mouth, gum problems yet, touch wood.

Glad your scan was OK metal. Why do you want a cs? Did you have issues with DD? Not long til your holiday, woo! We've only DTD once since conception too, when I was about 7 weeks and we were on holiday in Malta. It's a relief not to after the TTC isn't it!?

Still have a tiny bump compared to some on the Dec FB group. But it's hardening up nicely now :-) Been trying to wean myself off my antiemetic pills lately. Went down from two a day to one last week and now I'm taking one every other day. The nausea is returning and I feel like I did in trimester 1. On the pills I felt 100% normal and could eat/drink anything I wanted. Since the weaning certain things I loved now taste gross or leave a bad taste in my mouth. Nearly puked earlier after feeling ill on the bus home but felt better after a piece of toast. No way could I cook the chicken and veg I had planned though, hope it will keep til tomorrow!

Cheshirehello79 · 23/07/2015 19:59

Oh chops not the sickness again! Hope it goes away quick this time I must say I found raking my pregnancy vitamin early in the morning made my day better. Are you all still on your pregnancy vitamins ? I've been told to take them till trend by my consultant but I know every midwife is different.

Cheshirehello79 · 23/07/2015 20:00

Meant to say taking ...

Metalhead · 23/07/2015 20:56

Sorry you're feeling rough again chops. Do you have to stop taking the pills, or is it just that you thought you should come off them?

On paper, I had a 'normal' vaginal delivery with DD (as the doctor yesterday liked to point out). However, I had two deep internal tears and a labial tear which had to be sutured under spinal block afterwards. This was despite doing everything 'right' (no drugs, stayed upright, listened to midwife whilst pushing blah blah...). And although I've not got any lasting issues I was in pain for about 6 months afterwards, and felt really traumatised by the whole thing, which I believe contributed massively to my PND. For me, an ELCS is a more calculable risk. (and I don't believe the doctor's claim that "all second births are easier" because I know people who had a pretty hard time second time round too).

cherrylola · 23/07/2015 21:33

Glad the scan went well Metal that's great news! Sorry you're still sick chops, it's truly awful Thanks

I stopped taking my pregnancy vitamins at about 15 weeks when MW said no need to take folic acid anymore. I do still take a different multi-vitamin (skin hair and nail one) daily though as I noticed a huge difference in condition since starting that about a year ago (which I've bloody well needed after I basically fell apart post DS Grin).

I may have just gone ever so slightly overboard buying tiny baby clothes from the new Little Bird range. I was very restrained when DS was tiny (because yes, everything other than sleep suits is basically daft on a new born) but I just couldn't resist DS2 having some special things of his own as he will basically spend his entire life in hand me downs! Tiny baby leggings and vests are just too irresistible and I think they'll be good sized first outfits for pics Smile. DS1 ended up wearing a baby grow I hated to leave the hospital because it was the tiniest thing we had and all the lovely new baby stuff swamped him.

I got DS1 some awesome Pjs with toadstools on them too so he won't be left out Envy

Now I've satisfied my shopping urge I need to get down to the nitty gritty and get my head round planning a (hopeful) homebirth!!! Cripes.

chopsface · 23/07/2015 22:09

Still bought nothing for baby. But I'm lagging behind you lot and not had my 20w scan yet!

I thought they recommended taking folic acid until 20 weeks now? Can't hurt though surely? Been taking folic separate rather than my multivit. Was finding them too big to swallow and they made me gag! They do say suitable throughout pregnancy though so hope to take them at some point as they're not cheap!

I have been kind of told to stop taking the antiemetics, to see how it goes, to see if I still need them. I practically self medicated at the start though with dosage, so I'm messing with the dosage again. As long as I'm not being sick, what's nausea and aversion between friends huh??

Oh I've also been told today I'm slightly anaemic and to pick up a prescription for iron from the GP. I blame my shocking diet lacking in green veg :-( I've heard iron can make you more nauseous and constipated. Got enough of that already. Thinking I need to try and change my diet instead of popping more pills....

cherrylola · 24/07/2015 08:33

I'm not sure chops, MW said to stop at about 12 weeks with DS1 and then I asked the MW a few weeks ago, shouldn't I be stopping the folic acid now?, she just said 'yes there's no need now you're past the first trimester, you probably have it in your diet anyway so nothing to worry about. It's all a bit vague in my experience Smile.

I'm partial to a bit of marmite on toast though and that's got lots of folic acid in it apparently!

chopsface · 24/07/2015 16:53

I'm quite happy to eat Marmite on toast :-) need to find some iron rich foods now too.... Kale, spinach, steak?!

Cheshirehello79 · 24/07/2015 18:30

Chops I had the same well they didn't phrase it as anaemic but was low in iron so started having a bit of greens in everything. I found some juice in lido that had iron supplement will try dig out the name ame was ace had a cup in morning and night and must say the second time I went for bloods 16 weeks got results at 20 weeks - all bloods were ok so try routing around your local supermarket and read ingridents n items and just pick up a few with iron in them.

Well I'm going to raise the vitamin business with mw on 24 weeks appointment as you al say they are not cheap and not given free by nhs which I think they should do ( should we start a petition haha!)

Well maybe that's why I've got hairs growing off my bloody ears on this rate as I'm still on preg care.

I've started feeling a bit sickly today maybe because my diet has started going down the drain and not really been exercising - feel like after all clear 20 weeks- everything has gone off the roof !

Have fab weekend everyone :-)

sharonthewaspandthewineywall · 24/07/2015 22:26

Been looking at prams today and having a little test. Can't tell you how weird it feels after not having pushed one for 8 years!

Cheshirehello79 · 25/07/2015 09:57

Aww Sharon don't make me jealous I'm going big pram shopping next weekend so really looking forward in spending all my bonus :-)

cherrylola · 25/07/2015 11:05

Cheshire the midwives where I am give vitamins for free, I've never asked for them but have always been offered, perhaps ask? I'm not on sure start or any benefits so don't think that's why but perhaps they're just kind/sneaky here Grin

cherrylola · 25/07/2015 11:07

There are a few perks to being pregnant in my city. Free swimming is the best one though!

Cheshirehello79 · 25/07/2015 14:03

I need to move to your city I don't get nothing at my small town . I will ask though going we'd for another scan so will ask consultant if I can have gratis vitamin and swimming ... That will be ace

sharonthewaspandthewineywall · 25/07/2015 14:22

Cheshire I'm clueless though and to make matters more difficult I'm getting a new car soon so no idea what sort of pram will fit in the boot!

Cheshirehello79 · 25/07/2015 22:34

Well I'm down to top 3 now Sharon.
Bugaboo chameleon
Cyber Priam
Mini jogger all terrain gt

So will see and re car seat deco getting maxi cosi pebble and maxi cosi family isofix base ( mother care) have currently got buy the pebble seat and get family isofix for free:-) so will be saving quite a bit there

Metalhead · 26/07/2015 07:57

I'd definitely recommend a car seat with isofix base, so much easier than strapping them in with seatbelts! (Once DH had read the instructions properly and realised you don't need to use the belt on top of the isofix base... Grin)

I've been bloody exhausted again all week, getting so sick of this! And losing hope that things will ever improve before she comes out, I'll probably just have to accept that I'll be feeling like this for the next four months (sigh). At least it's only one week to go until our holiday, feel like I really need a break.

Cheshirehello79 · 26/07/2015 11:57

Well been feeling shattered myself all I did yesterday was clean a bassinet that my sister has given me almost new :-) and I was almost out of breath and starting having slight stomach pains as if the baby wasn't happy with all the bending I had to have 3 hours rest after that before I was myself again I'm just scarred what it's going to be like as I go along. Have only gained 3.5 kg now and still slight bump / can now feel baby move almost everyday no pattern yet though.

P.s my priority seat mission was accomplished last week forgot share it. Had to go to London for the day which I do often almost once a week or fortnight (work) ordered my free " mind the bump" badge which I wore in pride and was given priority sear on underground by this lovely lady - will cherish the day forever... Had the biggest grin when got of the underground :-)

chopsface · 26/07/2015 17:55

I have baby items in the house!! My parents have visited and brought hand knitted neutral cardies and a bouncer chair.

Glad I'm not the only one with a teeny tiny bump Cheshire! If I could post a picture off my phone I would.

Hope you girls get some rest before the next busy week, I've only just sat down. Shattered too. And still have 24 hour nausea, sigh. Could do with another day off to do bugger all.

20 weeks tomorrow!! Woohoo!!

chopsface · 26/07/2015 18:51

Did this work??

December 2015 #4 - Hello Second Trimester!
Cheshirehello79 · 26/07/2015 19:17

Nice pic chops - mine a little bit slightly bigger but not much I'll try upload pic when I've taken one but I love wearing dresses and the high waisted ones kind of enhances the bump :-) I feel so uncomfortable in jeans so not worn any for a while now.

P.s when did or are you starting or when do you need to start wearing maternity bra. I still fit in my normal bras but most are under wired and not sure if need to ditch them soon ?

Cheshirehello79 · 26/07/2015 19:18

And oh yeah to chops marking 20 weeks :-)

cherrylola · 26/07/2015 20:59

Cheshire I'm not sure what the guidelines are but I wore my regular underwired bras all through my first pregnancy and intend to do the same this time

cherrylola · 26/07/2015 21:01

My boobs didn't grow massive though and I breast fed perfectly well
