I bought a few non wired bras in a bigger size quite early on. Just the cheap 2 pack t shirt bras from M&S. I'm now bulging out of those too :-( do I buy more cheap ones and leave the maternity bras until right near the end ready for nursing? Who knows?!

Cheshirehello79 · 27/07/2015 05:02

I've bought 2 m&s ones too from eBay 2x sizes bigger bargain but I find them so unflatering and because I'm still on normal size though boobs tend to hurt like mad at times - I'm still holding on to normal under wired ones.

I'll ask midwife as I heard the wire underneath can be harmful at certain stages in pregnancy but not exactly sure. I'll add post on main page as well see if any responses

Metalhead · 27/07/2015 09:46

Right ladies, are you ready for my mahoosive bump? Grin Here it is! (To be fair, on a fat day I probably looked like you do now chops before I even got pregnant...)

As for underwired bras, it's fine to wear them as long you feel comfortable and they fit properly. The only issue I think is if they cut into the actual breast tissue, but I wouldn't worry too much. And your boobs will probably balloon again when your milk comes in a couple of days after giving birth (mine looked like I'd had Dolly Parton implants overnight!) so you might want to leave buying nursing bras until then, or buy an extra size up.

My 20 week scan was amazing, all normal present and correct GrinGrin

Metalhead · 27/07/2015 16:04

Congratulations chops, that's great news! So pleased for you.

Cheshirehello79 · 27/07/2015 16:15

Great news chops - team blue that's great. I'm quite excited that have resist temptation of not finding out and awaiting the big reveal at birth . Chops I do hope you nipped into a baby store after that and have now officially starting buying stuff;-)

Who else have had their scans done or has everyone moved to fb?

MarkingMyPlace9 · 27/07/2015 16:38

We had our Scan done last Week, Team Blue also Smile Makes life that little bit easier as we already have DS!

chopsface · 27/07/2015 16:57

I just went into work straight after! Nothing purchased! Had a massive grin on my face though!

There are 60 of us on FB guys

Cheshirehello79 · 27/07/2015 17:11

A www you missed the trick chops- I took half day annual leave went to mc Donald's :-) then to maxx and got some lovely baby grows and play mat

I don't have fb account not really into the whole social media thing well apart from mums net as I find it great chatting to other mothers and mothers to be.

Congrats marking as well in your scan team blue :-) we've not had a lot of team pink ? Will I be team pink ....... Will just have to wait and see :-)

sharonthewaspandthewineywall · 27/07/2015 17:23

I had my scan today. All looked good but i'm disappointing if im honest as baby wouldn't play ball, was hard to see very much so didn't get any pictures and couldn't tell what colour it is!! Also the placenta is covering the cervix at the moment so may result in a section but I wanted to request one anyway so that element doesn't bother me!
So no further forward in planning prams/bedrooms/cots/clothes!!

Cheshirehello79 · 27/07/2015 17:50

Aww Sharon congrats on your 20 week scan regardless it's still magic. My scan was the same but did manage get some pictures but going back again on wed as they couldn't get pictures of the heart chambers. Did they tell you if you need to go back again for another scan? I was told my cervix was a bit low as well but they will monitor it at 30 weeks and 36 weeks so not to worry much so I'm not( trying to be positive). You should too as St the end of it there will still be a baby :-)

MarkingMyPlace9 · 27/07/2015 17:53

I think on the FB group about 12(ish) of us have found out so far, and it's about equal on the Boy/Girl front. Everyone else is either Team Surprise or hasn't found out yet. I find the FB group so much easier to stay on top of, and it's kinda easier to ask questions/get information from there aswell

sharonthewaspandthewineywall · 27/07/2015 17:55

the sonographer said because im under consultant care I should have a growth scan at 28 weeks and will check the placenta then

Cheshirehello79 · 27/07/2015 18:07

Hope all is ok Sharon got fingers crossed for you

sharonthewaspandthewineywall · 27/07/2015 18:27

Thank you x

chopsface · 27/07/2015 19:00

My placenta was also low lying and anterior, I think it's quite common, and I have a scan booked for 36w to check its moved away. She said I may not feel as many movements as I should coz the placenta is in the way! I'm not too concerned to be honest. My son ( Grin ) did play ball and moved around just where the lady wanted him too to examine all the internal organs. Hope you learn more soon Sharon

I think I'm getting a cold, feel poo pants :-(

I think the downside of the FB group is its so busy its easy for your post to be overlooked in favour of the more frequent posters.

sharonthewaspandthewineywall · 27/07/2015 19:03

I've just finished with a horrendous cold you have my sympathies

Cheshirehello79 · 27/07/2015 19:05

Just a tip ladies to all those low lying placentas as my mum is retired midwife she told me not to avoid but minimise having a bath - shower instead/ minimise having organisms as well ( tmi) as it dilates the cervix in other words cervix rest ( don't remember the excact terminology she used) hope this helps

sharonthewaspandthewineywall · 27/07/2015 20:37

No danger of orgasms round here just ask my poor DH GrinGrinGrin

chopsface · 27/07/2015 21:11

Taken to my bed with tissue up my nostrils :-(

Ooops about the orgasms, I've had a few this last week!!

Cheshirehello79 · 27/07/2015 21:56

Hope you feel better soon chops and .... Remember cervix rest hahahaha

Metalhead · 28/07/2015 07:00

chops I wouldn't worry about the orgasms, I'm sure the hospital would have told you no sex if they had any concerns about your placenta position. Hope your cold gets better soon, I always suffer horribly when I get one do you have my sympathies!

I'm sooo tired again today, couldn't get to sleep last night, and have to spend a day in the office. Ugh. If I could I'd go on maternity leave now...

chopsface · 28/07/2015 13:18

Off work sick :-( feel bloody awful. Worse than normal 'non preg' cold. Pretty symptomatic anaemia wise too. Breathlessness, pounding heart just upon standing up! Nearly been sick a few times. And now I have black poo from the iron tablets.

On the plus side I've contacted my student loan company and owed less than I thought so I've paid off the balance in full! It's out of my life forever!! Woo!!

sharonthewaspandthewineywall · 28/07/2015 17:26

Great news about the loan- sucky news about the cold/anaemia though!!! Hope you start feeling better soon!

Cheshirehello79 · 28/07/2015 19:35

Hope you feel better soon chops any yy to paying off student loan.

Metal I've been feeling the same lately thank god I can work from home so do try gave afternoon nap during my lunch hour and straight to bed for a kip come 5pm . I was thinking of finishing work for maternity around 38 weeks but on this rate I think it might be very soon
