Update 20 weeks scan today all went ok from what they could see . The baby was first facing downwards so you could only get a shot of the spine ... So had sit up ... Walk ... Lie side ways see if will turn and indeed baby did but cheeky little thing just waved said hello and had both arms and legs covering the heart and its bits but all other measurements were fine and bang on . Have to go back in 2 weeks for another scan as they didn't get clear picture of the hear and heart chambers. I was glad baby covered the sex bit as no one had a clue what sex it was :-) and I was determined not to find out .. So prayers answered. I'm excited going back to see beanster in 2 weeks as well oh p.s baby has lots of hair :-)

Metalhead · 15/07/2015 15:02

Aww lovely pic cheshire and glad all is looking well as far as they could see! Bonus on getting an extra scan too! Smile Can't wait for mine next Wednesday.

Anyone started thinking about names? I've started a list and have about 4 favourites so far, including 2 'left over' from DD1. If last time is anything to go by though it'll take us a good while to agree on a name.

Cheshirehello79 · 15/07/2015 15:07

God luck for wed metal and Kelman tomorrow. Just make sure you drink a bit of water for clear pictures:-)

I've started thinking of names we've got 2 boys and 2 girls at the moment and love them not going share them though with anyone :-) it's all getting so real now ! How exciting

Alittlebitofeverything · 15/07/2015 15:17

Just thought I'd say a quick hello... I am due on 29th November but every chance I will push into December so thought I'd introduce myself. I am 20 weeks and a few days with my first baby, its a girl and 20 week scan all normal yesterday Smile

sharonthewaspandthewineywall · 15/07/2015 17:14

Aww what a rascall baby Cheshire you will have your work cut out Grin
Had loads of movements today decided it can't possibly be my bowels it's twitchy and continual. He or she must be super active today mind you saying that I accidentally drank caffeinated coffee today so it's probably wired!

sharonthewaspandthewineywall · 15/07/2015 17:14

Welcome a littlebitGrin great news on your scan x

Cheshirehello79 · 15/07/2015 17:28

Welcome a little bit great news on your scan too. It's just a relief knowing everything is going ok so far.

chopsface · 15/07/2015 19:04

Yay for the good scan Cheshire! Great you get an extra one ;-)

We have a definite favourite for a girl which we are not budging from. As for boys names we are having trouble! We had a definite one but now I work with someone of that name and it feels wrong. We cannot agree on any other names and its getting an issue for us! Bloody hope it's a girl now!

Can't join in the baby movement chat yet :-(

cherrylola · 15/07/2015 20:58

Had our scan today and all good Smile
Found out we are having another boy, I was convinced this one was a girl so I feel a bit odd about it at the moment TBH! Obviously ecstatic that everything seems as it should be and having two brothers will be really amazing but I'm 99% sure we won't have anymore children so it's definitely a bit of a shock to know I won't ever raise a girl Hmm. I'm sure I'll get flamed for this, think I just need a day or two for it all to sink in! I lost a baby not that long ago so don't get me wrong, I know how precious they are and how truly lucky I am.

Started feeling some slight moment this event too, yay!!

Metalhead · 15/07/2015 21:45

Congrats on your scans alittle and cherry!

Don't beat yourself up about feeling a pang of disappointment cherry, I'm sure you'll soon get used to the idea of having two boys. I was really hoping for another girl and think I would have felt the same had this one been a boy. I think a lot of people would have a preference for one or the other but maybe not many admit it. Doesn't mean you're going to love your baby any less.

chops I'm sure your little one will make itself felt soon.

chopsface · 15/07/2015 22:10

Congrats cherry!

I don't think I will be disappointed with whatever sex I get. It's a baby! A long awaited baby! Week and a half to go until 20w scan!

Cheshirehello79 · 15/07/2015 22:20

Cherry congrats and don't beat yourself down its still an amazing feeling you're having a wonderful baby.

Think about all the positive things, you might not need to buy lots of new stuff, boys are great team and you might have 2 boys with two different personalities and might not matter.
My sister has 2 boys and really wanted a girl second time round but now she's glad it 2 boys - they are brilliant with each other, share toys and amazing little kids.

I'm sure you'll be fine x

cherrylola · 16/07/2015 08:56

Thanks all, I'm not really disappointed and actually thrilled at the thought of two little boy terrors running around. Having a big clear out of the baby clothes mountain and buying some new pieces would've been really therapeutic since my miscarriage, but hey, perhaps I'll just do that anyway Smile

Metalhead · 16/07/2015 10:07

I'm very tempted to buy a new pram cherry, even though we've still got our old one. It was never the height of fashion and will look really dated now...

Cheshirehello79 · 16/07/2015 17:39

Cherry - I would still go out and get lots of new bits for the new one after all if it going to make you feel better why not- there's sales everywhere you look.

Talking about prams - what do you all go for? The brand? Practicality? Trend? Or the cheapest ? There's so much choice available it makes buying a house more easy then choosing a pram/ stroller/ travel system Grrrrr!

cherrylola · 16/07/2015 20:51

Oh my goodness pram shopping is a minefield, it gave me migraines when we bought our first (travel system jobbie), so pleased not to have to do that again and thank goodness I haven't budgeted for it so no chance I can Grin, we will use our old one which luckily we really looked after.

Our major issue was fitting it into the car. I had a mini at the time and there were only about 2 options but I took months researching and trying to fit prams in the boot before buying one! I would go for something that easily fits through cafe doors as a priority Wink and can be steered with one hand (I like the bar handles not the two handle ones for ease of steering one handed). I also kept DS parent facing (so great for speech development and bonding being able to have a chat as you walk) until we stopped using it and got a little buggy, he was almost 2! If you have a baby anything like my first they will scream blue murder when you put them in the pram for the first few months anyway. So just buy a bloody good ergonomic sling (not a sodding baby bjorn, they're crap) Smile. Sling libraries are fab if you can get to one and try some out. A decent sling is about £80 but so so worth it (try Manduca, Connecta, Ergo, Tula).

He did sometimes like the car seat though and slept in it so I was very pleased to be able to pop that on the pram chassis and whizz round the shops x

cherrylola · 16/07/2015 20:55

Oh, and if you want the carry cot attachment there are always immaculate ones on eBay for a fraction of the price because no one ever uses them for long so don't bother spending full price brand new one unless you have money to burn Wink. Mine should've been £120 JUST for the carry cot, got a hardly used one for £20 Smile

cherrylola · 16/07/2015 22:03

Aww Metal, sod it, get something you love and enjoy it Smile

Metalhead · 17/07/2015 10:18

I've had a little look online and seen a couple I like for not too extortionate a price... now I just need to convince DH we need a new one!

Metalhead · 20/07/2015 09:33

Morning all, how is everyone? I hope you all had a nice weekend. Ours was quite busy as we had DD's school summer fair on Saturday and then her big dance show that she'd been practising for the last 6 months yesterday. Glad that's all over now tbh!

As it was also our anniversary yesterday, DH and I had sex for the first time since we conceived... Blush. The poor bloke has been very patient; I'd just completely gone off it, mainly because I always feel rubbish in the evenings, but also because we'd been ttc for so long I was quite happy not to think about dtd for a while.

Got our scan on Wednesday, I can't wait! Movements are still irregular with no discernible pattern, I wonder when they'll start to become more regular?

sharonthewaspandthewineywall · 20/07/2015 13:58

Just coming back from holidayHmm
Have had a great time though.
Been feeling really quite emotional the past couple of days no idea why, anyone else felt this?

Cheshirehello79 · 20/07/2015 21:37

Hi all hope everyone is sound as a pound.

I've been really poorly have had the worst tooth ache and was away all weekend but just been agony. The antibiotics that I was given didn't touch nothing so topped up with some few paracetamol ( I just hope I've not turned beanster into a druggie!) we'll all sorted today but after full examination my pregnancy hormones are causing my gums to swell so keeping an eye on that. Anyone having gum issues or just me unfortunately :-(

Booked a personal shopping experience with mamas & papas going to check out prams on 1st August so looking forward to that as apparently my car is not the most practical one ( 1series) and not looking to change it yet - so that should be exciting.

I've kind of lost baby concentration in regards to movement due to severe tooth ache but I'm sure I've felt a couple of time where baby ( I'm sure) it's been turning .

Good luck to everyone whose having scans this week :-)

Metalhead · 22/07/2015 13:10

Hope you're feeling better now cheshire, toothache sounds hellish! Don't worry about the paracetamol, I've had to take some every now and then for my headaches and it is safe to take during pregnancy.

sharon hope you had a great holiday! I can't wait for ours, I'm so ready for a break (1.5 weeks to go...).

We had our scan this morning and all is looking good! Smile Little one has been kicking quite a lot the last couple of days too, which is lovely.

Saw one of the doctors afterwards and told him I want an elcs this time, he did his best to put me off the idea but I shall be sticking to my guns and hopefully they'll sign it off in the end.

Cheshirehello79 · 22/07/2015 20:29

Great news metal that scan went ok. Bet you can now relax and look forward to holiday ????

sharonthewaspandthewineywall · 22/07/2015 23:20

Thanks metal where are you off to? Glad scan went well seeing consultant next week and I will also be asking for an elcs and expect to have to fight it!
