For all those lovely bumps incubating until last few days of Oct and all November, spilling possibly over to December for the super comfortable babies- come and chat, rant, vent, chant, glow, sweat, watch nails grow whilst doing antenatal pilates/yoga/sleeping/eating/navel gazing and over analyse to your hormones content!

Optional - FB group is up and bumping, PM me with email to be added.

Thanks lady and good luck at the clinic.

Re wetness, yes, I've been in to get checked out but was confirmed it wasn't waters. Still not sure what it wasBlush but hey ho, the glamour of pregnancy hey?!

BowiesJumper · 13/08/2015 15:43

Unthought, on occasion I am REALLY wet down there. Nearly so wet that I think it's waters, but after reading around, I think it's normal. I was worried a couple of times though.

austen, there are meant to be NHS classes (they were mentioned to be at booking in) but I forgot to ask my midwife on Monday at my 28wk appointment and nobody has mentioned them!

I think I'll go to bumpfest. The issue I have with NCT is not only the expense, but also that my husband probably couldn't come to the majority of the classes because of work so I'd be on my todd!

Unthoughtknown · 13/08/2015 15:49

Thanks all, it stopped after the initial gush and smells normal. Bizarre though. Although this convo has reminded me to start doing my pelvic floor exercises :: clench ::

ChicBabyP · 13/08/2015 22:02

Unthought, i also had a bit more of a leak last week and was worried but after speaking with midwife (who checked with consultant), i was told it was probably lochorea (sp?) which we always get but more so in pregnancy. And that if it was amniotic fluid it would be clear like water (mine was whitish, sorry for too much info).

Can't believe i'm 27 weeks already and only 10 more weeks to go!! ( as they won't let me go over 37 weeks). So much to do and so little time...help!!

Maxbenji · 14/08/2015 12:36

Just wanted to join you all, been reading the thread for a couple of days and all the information is really helpful.

I'm due baby no1 on 3rd November, so reading up on what to expect! We're team yellow too and will have a lovely surprise when it's here.

BowiesJumper · 14/08/2015 18:57

Welcome max! I'm also team yellow with baby no1.
Had the day off today and slowly starting to pack as we're moving in 6wks. Eek.

AbbeyRoadCrossing · 14/08/2015 19:05

With classes I did the NHS ones last time. Well, I did the labour one, but had an EMCS so that was no use in the end. The others I never made it to as I'd had DS before them - I think they were the parenting ones.
We've survived almost a year without classes Smile I know they are nice to do but just wanted to say you'll make friends and be able to look after baby if you miss them. I was quite panicked at the time by my friends that could afford NCT that I'd missed out but it was fine.
I do recommend baby and child first aid by the red cross, that was excellent.

austengirl · 16/08/2015 06:00

Good luck with the move Bowie

Did you do the first aid course before or after DC1 Abbey? I agree it's a good idea, just wondering if I should try to squeeze it in given how much we have going on in the next 6 weeks.

28 weeks today Shock

AbbeyRoadCrossing · 16/08/2015 19:19

I did it when I was about 20 weeks with DS, mainly because I got it free off mumsnet at that time in exchange for a review Smile
It was one full day, but I think they do a series of evenings too. I think I'd have found it hard to find the time after the birth to fit it in though.

Unthoughtknown · 18/08/2015 20:58

The first aid course is a good idea. The midwife told me not to pay for antenatal classes just go on the Nhs ones. I'm too skint for nct anyway! I did want to do a breastfeeding class if they offer it though.

Unthoughtknown · 21/08/2015 08:06

Does anyone have any good tips for dealing with acid reflux? I thought mint tea but apparently that can make it worse.

SnozzberryPie · 21/08/2015 10:07

Unthought you have my sympathies, I had horrible heartburn last time around and am dreading its return this time. Gaviscon helped a bit and you can get it free on prescription.

SnozzberryPie · 21/08/2015 10:08

I think they advise you to eat small meals and avoid spicy food, but I was also having irresistible curry cravings Grin

TakesTwoToTango · 21/08/2015 13:00

Unthought, have you tried milk? I think that can help. And not eating/drinking much before bed/lying down.

AbbeyRoadCrossing · 21/08/2015 19:35

I'll second milk as an idea to try.

I've had a busy few weeks with appointments coming out of my ears! I've got anti c antibodies which no one seems to have heard of apart from medical people. It should be OK, but if the level gets too high it harms the baby, so could be another early delivery Sad so it's blood tests every 2 weeks. They reckon I got it from a mismatched blood transfusion when I had DS.

TakesTwoToTango · 22/08/2015 12:47

Oh abbey, that's frustrating! Hopefully your levels will stay nice and low. If you do have another early one, hold on to the fact that no two are the same and just because your da had some difficulties, doesn't mean this one will.

AbbeyRoadCrossing · 22/08/2015 14:52

That's true, and if I do go in early it should be a planned thing rather than an emergency, so should have chance to prepare at least. I'm 30 weeks now and it was detected at 28 week bloods not the 12 or 24 I had done, so guessing it was very low then not to show, so hopefully that's a good sign it's not going to get really high

Unthoughtknown · 28/08/2015 20:31

Today I've been mainly examining my belly button (quite literally naval gazing), does everyone get an outtie during pregnancy?

Unthoughtknown · 28/08/2015 20:31

*navel

AbbeyRoadCrossing · 28/08/2015 20:44

I never did last time and haven't yet, although it's gone kind of flat so perhaps it's coming out this time!

SnozzberryPie · 28/08/2015 22:55

I did last time, it hasn't happened yet this time but I think it's on its way

austengirl · 29/08/2015 16:33

My innie has not become an outie yet, so I don't know if it's going to happen. A coworker of DH's said she never got one.

How have your blood tests been Abbey?

Today I had coffee with another mumsnetter due in a few weeks. It was nice to chat with another mum-to-be. PGP might be setting in, so I need to remember to mention it to the midwife at my 31 week appointment next week. It's not unbearable, but it's not a pleasant sensation either.

annatha · 29/08/2015 16:49

I never got one last time and haven't so far either. It got much shallower though and stretched my old piercing scar.

AbbeyRoadCrossing · 29/08/2015 19:32

I'm still waiting for results. They said 2 weeks so hopefully that's Tuesday.
I got a letter though saying I needed a repeat. I'd already been in for a repeat so this would be a repeat of the repeat Confused It was dated over a week ago though so I'm not sure if they didn't post the same letter twice? I phoned to check but no one got back to me. If I don't hear on Tuesday I'll go in and get the bloods done again I think.

thprincesswhohadnokingdom · 29/08/2015 19:40

Thank you for this thread. It is so so lovely to read about other mners plodding along, growing new life and daydreaming about November (offers a shy wave ~ for us due date is 9/11/15 and baby is pink flavour)... Smile I was wondering - Practical but pressing question.... What are you all wearing now and planning on wearing over the next few months? I am on my last pair of giving jeans that do up under bump and am wearing with tunics... but have started to think that maybe I really do need to go maternity clothes shopping...panic, panic... Confused Has anyone been already? Did you survive the experience?
