For all those lovely bumps incubating until last few days of Oct and all November, spilling possibly over to December for the super comfortable babies- come and chat, rant, vent, chant, glow, sweat, watch nails grow whilst doing antenatal pilates/yoga/sleeping/eating/navel gazing and over analyse to your hormones content!

Optional - FB group is up and bumping, PM me with email to be added.

abbeyroad I'm not entirely sure if I was continually monitored or not, I'm fighting a losing battle trying to get hold of my birth notes and actually only found out that I was consultant led last time because the midwife told me after the birth that the woman I met for the first time at 38 weeks who wanted to book me in for induction was actually my consultant Hmm. I had the belt to monitor the heartbeat which forced me to keep still as it kept slipping off, but I don't know if I could've just had the clip on baby's head from the start. Once that was on I was free to roam about 2 metres or so and could be unhooked when I needed a wee. I also had a cannula (sp?) put in my wrist as soon as I arrived incase they needed to put me on a drip later but it was never attached to anything. Sorry, not very helpful!

Welcome lollytav!

AbbeyRoadCrossing · 26/07/2015 12:24

Thanks annatha it is helpful - gives me questions to ask the midwives anyway to check. I want continuous monitoring if I'm VBAC-ing and they gave the impression I'd be mobile but I'm not sure I will be. As there's the monitoring belts, cannulas, and drip and I have to have an antibiotic at some points during labour in the drip.
At the moment I don't particularly want a VBAC or a c section but baby has to come out somehow!

Welcome lolly I wanted to be team yellow but this baby was a flasher so we said to the sonographers that they might as well tell us as we could see! Girl this time, boy last time. But a very quick flash from DS last time so I wasn't sure and was team yellowish, this time it was a full on legs by head for a few minutes Grin so was very obvious

Just popping in as this thread left my active conversations.

25 weeks and 1 day, four more days and then count down is in double digits, eek, don't feel ready at all. We move in two weeks so holding off buying stuff but it's so hard. This week baby is the size of a English hot house cucumber and I'm loving seeing baby move and feel the dancing.

Hope everyone enjoys their Sunday.

AbbeyRoadCrossing · 26/07/2015 12:52

A cucumber, that's cute mrswishywashy
If I'm in at 35 weeks again it means my countdown is in single digits! Shock (Although no sign of problems this time so should all be OK I'm hoping)

NoMoreSashimi · 26/07/2015 13:40

I'm 27 weeks today and my pregnancy app says this is the last week of second semester Shock better get some stuff organized... starting hypnobirthing on Tuesday, really hope it's good. They are working with the "wise hippo" method, which put me off a bit initially - what's the need for stupid names like that!

Unthoughtknown · 26/07/2015 14:28

Welcome lollytav, I'm in Wales too (Caerphilly).

I am feeling fat today, even my trackies are too small!

KathrynM1 · 26/07/2015 21:26

Hi guys. I'm 23 weeks and 2 days. Some days baby moves a lot and some days a little. I feel him/her everyday but some days more than others. Normal for 23 weeks? Xxx

lollytav · 26/07/2015 22:10

Hi unthoughtknown in just over the mountain in North Cardiff Smile

lollytav · 26/07/2015 22:12

And hello all! I'm currently feeling like I could eat everything in sight! I eat and I'm still hungry! Little one must be growing! Grin

annatha · 26/07/2015 22:23

Kathryn that's normal, baby is still pretty small so it depends on his/her position as to how much movement you'll feel. In a few weeks it'll be easier to recognise movement patterns as there isn't as much space to hide in.

KathrynM1 · 27/07/2015 11:08

Thank you Grin

LeosMumKerrie · 27/07/2015 20:55

Hello!

I'm due 30th November so only just make it!

Already have a 3yr DS, I'm team yellow, wish I had found out though but my husband didn't want to know, it is driving me crazy!!

Had horrendous ligament pain today, anyone know if bump supports help this? Xx

Topsy34 · 27/07/2015 21:43

Not been in here much, good to read everyones updates.
Im 24w tomorrow, all going ok, feeling pretty good.

Started my hypno refresher, struggling to find time to get stuck in!

Trying to decide what to do about leave, i could go 30th August, but not sure i want to be off from then to mid November with just pottering round the house, i did say the end of September initially to work, but havent put anything in writing. I need to give 28 days notice according to gov.uk, so i thought i would give them written notifcation along with my my intended date of leave. Its doing my head in at the mo, the woman who is covering my boss (on mat leave) is a nightmare, just want to bop her on the nose all the time, seeing mat leave as my way out.....

AbbeyRoadCrossing · 27/07/2015 22:18

I'm going in August at 30 weeks but mainly because I'm on annual leave after my last mat leave and its easier for everyone than working for a month or two. Also had DS early and never left work, so want to take it easy (if that's possible with a baby at home?) and not do that this time.
There's no right answer though. I think some people get bored in their own company but I quite like time to myself, so depends what you're like. You can change your mind with 28 days notice too of the new date

annatha · 28/07/2015 14:26

Like abbey I'm still on mat leave so will be starting this one as early as possible so I won't have to return to work in between. Its stressing me out though because I'm due back on 14th Aug and am waiting to hear from work to see when my holiday takes me to. Last time I went at 35 weeks as I had 5 weeks of holiday to use so started official leave on my due date. I know lots of people go much later but it was nice having some time before to relax and prepare the house.

CishAndFips · 29/07/2015 08:58

Im going on the 14 th september with a weeks holiday. Just before. I was hoping to work a bit longer but ds stars school and i want to be around to help him settle in.

roughtyping · 29/07/2015 09:25

I'm going back to work in a couple of weeks Envy but only for 6 weeks, so will finish up at the September weekend at about 34 weeks.

GuybrushThreepwoodMP · 29/07/2015 09:36

Five more weeks of work! Finishing at 30 weeks, then taking 3 weeks of holiday. Hurray! I'll be well ready. 39 weeks last time was tough but not possible this time with twins!

SnozzberryPie · 29/07/2015 14:36

I'm going at 36 weeks which will be the beginning of November. Some of you will have babies by then!

We're on holidays at the moment, been camping and today we are at longleat safari park. Dd is loving it but is currently napping in the car while we wait to start the safari bit.

Unthoughtknown · 30/07/2015 07:57

I'm trying to recruit a maternity cover at the moment... Torn because I want someone amazing but not that will make me look bad! I also will have at least a couple of weeks maybe longer to train them and I'm a bit useless at 1-1 training.

ChloeMumsnet · 30/07/2015 09:36

doomclaw · 30/07/2015 18:30

Had my 25 week MW appointment today (24+1 for some reason). Not very interesting except she listened to the baby's heartbeat with the doppler which I wasn't expecting and it was lovely.

austengirl · 02/08/2015 08:18

It's so nice hearing the heartbeat isn't it doomclaw.

I'm planning to start mat leave 23 October, unless this baby has other ideas. I don't know what's happening with maternity cover but if they're going to recruit someone, hopefully it'll be in enough time for a handover.

KathrynM1 · 03/08/2015 14:08

Hey guys. Another query. Smile So I'm 24 weeks and started to get sharp pains in my sides if I sit down too long then stand up. Nothing too painful but def noticeable. Putting it down to ligament pain? Anyone else have the same? Xxx

tootsroots · 03/08/2015 17:10

Hi! Yes had the same, growing pains, careful not to lift, etc.

If the pain is not easing, perhaps ask GP to make sure no PGP or SPD.. ?

Love a scan Doomclaw!
