For all those lovely bumps incubating until last few days of Oct and all November, spilling possibly over to December for the super comfortable babies- come and chat, rant, vent, chant, glow, sweat, watch nails grow whilst doing antenatal pilates/yoga/sleeping/eating/navel gazing and over analyse to your hormones content!

Optional - FB group is up and bumping, PM me with email to be added.

Good luck with the house Laura7010! We bought a new build so had a bit less of the buying stress and a bit more of the furnishing a completely empty house stress!

Start roping in helpers now though! Promise them baby cuddles in return.

austengirl · 07/07/2015 22:06

Congrats Dixiebell! Hope the placenta shifts in due course.

I was in John Lewis the other day and they had quite a few Bravado bras in the sale--I got one for £8. Just in case anyone is looking.

anka87 · 07/07/2015 23:16

Thanks everyone and congratulations Dixie! we're still team yellow but my scan is next week so we have a few more days to think about it.

Reg size- I am huge with this one! its number three so I think my muscles have just given up but i'm embracing it and getting comfy in my unflattering maternity trousers x

DidILeaveTheGasOn · 08/07/2015 06:46

Wow, a house move! That's amazing, I'm not sure I could do that whilst pregnant, I'm in awe. Our house move 4 years ago nearly flattened me, although that was pre-dd when I was a major flapper about anything whereas nowadays I'm a lot more focused and organised (although I'm not sure I'm organised enough to cope with two, aaargh).

Have any of you bought much yet? I've bought a couple of things and I'm really tempted to buy the below, it's so cute:

We moved last pregnancy, well with a newborn in the end. How that took so long with no chain either end I still don't understand. Still, we got through it and now it's a distant memory (apart from the unpacked boxes)

I've bought a few things when bargains pop up, so steriliser (£5 second hand hardly used), angel care monitors (someone helpfully said they were half price on Amazon yesterday), a few clothes but DS's early stuff was mainly neutral so we're OK there. I don't really like getting stuff this early but last time I left it all to the last minute and was in hospital at 35 weeks with nothing ready at home, so promised myself we will be organised this time.

I still have the double buggy nightmare to sort out (hate buggy shopping) and other big items e.g. car seats.

It was great that we borrowed loads of stuff for DS but now we need to return it all it means buying x 2! Hence the 2 monitors

AbbeyRoadCrossing · 08/07/2015 11:12

Those dungarees are cute!
Mother care sale is coming up very soon - I think next week so might we worth keeping an eye out for that

DidILeaveTheGasOn · 08/07/2015 12:36

Oooh thanks, will hold off for now then!

AbbeyRoadCrossing · 08/07/2015 13:01

Hopefully this'll work - sale preview

This thread disappeared off my active threads! Sorry- I am still around and reading. Juggling work and toddler and twin pregnancy is making me rather tired at the moment. 11 weeks til maternity leave seems like a lifetime.

Stroan · 08/07/2015 14:39

If any of you are Amazon prime members, you can get a Family membership for free. When you sign up to it, you get £15 off a spend of £60 in the family section. We used it last week to buy a jumperoo for £55! (It'll be a gift from my brother, he just doesn't know about it yet)

They are also having a "prime day" next week which is going to be like a Black Friday sale. I plan to be glued to Amazon all day for baby bargains!

Dixiebell · 08/07/2015 15:08

Forgot to say, we saw the baby yawning in our scan. It was adorable!

DidILeaveTheGasOn · 08/07/2015 15:25

Abbeyroad thank you for that link! Much appreciated.

Awww Dixie that's lovely :)

AbbeyRoadCrossing · 08/07/2015 21:29

Just got a bloody stupid email off Bounty (my fault for signing up) apparently my baby's lungs are now fully developed! Apart from I know from having a 36 weeker they aren't even fully developed even then. Why are they allowed to send this incorrect stuff out?

I realise I'm probably irrationally annoyed about this, but no wonder so many people think having your baby too early isn't a big deal if this is what they read at this stage

DidILeaveTheGasOn · 08/07/2015 22:04

Bounty give me the rage. One of a handful of topics that reduce me to absolute gibbering, incomprehensible rage. Any business that thrives on temporary imprisonment, intense vulnerability and lack of immediate ability to say 'no' from potential customers is seriously bad news.
Kind of like companies that tell women formula is better for their babies than breast milk. Not mentioning any names, Nestle...

DidILeaveTheGasOn · 08/07/2015 22:06

Sorry, I seem to get a bit ranty with pregnancy :/

austengirl · 08/07/2015 22:07

DidILeaveTheGasOn we got a car seat and SiL has given us her old pram. I have family visiting this week and they've brought a bunch of things over, mostly baby clothes and a nappy bag. Still need to sort out a cot bed and the practical things that Guybrush and AbbeyRoad mentioned upthread.

Unthoughtknown · 08/07/2015 22:10

Haha rant away! It's Emma's diary I can't cope with - what a vapid, tedious mare she is. And her sap of a husband can bugger off n'all. I had to chuck it cos it gave me rage.

austengirl · 08/07/2015 22:17

Oh, DidI and a colleague of DH mentioned his wife works for Bounty. Apparently she doesn't like our local hospital because the head midwife is really strict about allowing them access to new mothers/families. I sent up a silent prayer of thanks when I heard that.

AbbeyRoadCrossing · 08/07/2015 22:19

Some of the things Bounty had done to people on mn were quite shocking. The lady on my ward was OK really but I don't think they should be bursting in all the time - every day for the whole time I was in which was over a week! No I still don't want a photo, thanks.

Just a bit down / ranty at the moment as I seem to be surrounded by stuff that's making me anxious, all little things which probably sound silly. My dad was saying I might have this baby on a family members birthday which would be over a month early. It might happen again but I'd rather prepare for the worst and hope for the best. I don't know, its just annoying me at the moment that still, all this time later, people that know me still don't understand how sensitive I am about this topic

austengirl · 08/07/2015 22:33

Sorry to hear that Abbey. Have some Flowers and Cake.

AbbeyRoadCrossing · 08/07/2015 22:43

Thank you Smile
I know I'm being ridiculous with a lot of it, no one has said anything bad really, but just in one of those over sensitive pregnancy moods I guess

DidILeaveTheGasOn · 09/07/2015 06:11

There's nowt ridiculous in pregnancy Abbeyroad BrewCake

GuybrushThreepwoodMP · 09/07/2015 06:31

Abbey I know what you mean. I'm feeling really sensitive about it too. DD was born at term but the risk of my twins coming early is really high.

A friend was talking about someone who has had a premie recently. She was saying "It's so scary, he's just tiny." He's nearly 6lb and breathing for himself! My friend just had her twins at 31 weeks and they are both under 2.5lb. Been in intensive care for 6 weeks now. I'd be thrilled if both of mine were over 5lb. It annoyed me that she was going on as if 5lb something was absolutely terrible.

I'm so scared that this pregnancy is unpredictable and there's nothing I can do to change that.

AbbeyRoadCrossing · 09/07/2015 08:53

Oh no I'm probably one of those people. DS was over 6lb but I didn't know that at the point of delivery and he did have a few preemie problems - still does, nearly 10 months and not on the move at all. The hospital doctor did say gestation is more important than weight (up to a point anyway) so a 6lb 40 weeker will have less problems than a 6lb 35 weeker if that makes sense? People really didn't get it though and there was a lot of texts of the "why are you still in hospital?" variety. Typically you stay in until what would've been 37-40 weeks but this varies

Wishing you all the best Guybrush hopefully youll have 2 big ones!

AbbeyRoadCrossing · 09/07/2015 09:04

Sorry I should've said I wouldn't dream of moaning to someone with 31 weekers in intensive care though. I realise we were very lucky that placenta kept going as long as it did last time.
