For all those lovely bumps incubating until last few days of Oct and all November, spilling possibly over to December for the super comfortable babies- come and chat, rant, vent, chant, glow, sweat, watch nails grow whilst doing antenatal pilates/yoga/sleeping/eating/navel gazing and over analyse to your hormones content!

Optional - FB group is up and bumping, PM me with email to be added.

Hi ladies, I've just joined the group so thought I should introduce myself and save a spot. This is baby number 3 and is due on the 29th but I always go over so will probably end up with a xmas baby! Hope everyone's coping with the delights of pregnancy in this heat x

Unthoughtknown · 04/07/2015 17:17

Welcome anka! I've been shopping in the sun today and and blinking knackered now.

Gr33dyeggs · 05/07/2015 19:26

Welcome anka

Unthoughtknown · 05/07/2015 20:10

Has anyone else got bleeding gums? Another delightful pregnancy side effect!

DidILeaveTheGasOn · 05/07/2015 20:13

Hi, can I join? I'm 22 weeks with dc2, who is a little boy :) we have a 2 year old dd who is a gorgeous, funny little creature so we are looking forward to adding a new little guy into the mix.

My due date is 7th November :)

AbbeyRoadCrossing · 05/07/2015 20:24

Welcome anka and DidIleavethegason

I'm exhausted at the moment and the muscular pain is getting worse. Bit worried about how that's going to progress when I actually get big...

annatha · 05/07/2015 20:31

Welcome anka and didileavethegason!

This week I've had very stranr advice from a doctor and a maternity support worker.

Apparently our immune systems are vulnerable during pregnancy. I knew that already, but today I was advised to wash my hands both before and after going to the toilet and to avoid changing dd's nappy where possible. DH is out of the house 9 hours a day so fat chance of that happening!

I went to the doctor to see if I could get diagnosed for SPD seeing as midwife was so dismissive a few weeks ago. Apparently I should be taking paracetamol regularly and avoid lifting heavy lifting such as lifting my daughter. So she's staying on the floor all day in a shit filled nappy on the advice of the NHS. Ffs.

DidILeaveTheGasOn · 05/07/2015 21:29

Annatha, that's cracking that is. I don't think they live in the real world. Sorry that you have SPD, dreadful from what I've heard of it :(.

So, is anyone else, well, massive? I think I must be the same size now as when I was at full term with DD. I am struggling with it. I am embarrassed when people ask how far along I am when I have to answer that I'm only 5 months. I look like I'm 9 months :(. My tummy is this big solid ball. Four more months. I am going to end up so big I will have to wear a caravan because it will be the only thing that will fit :(

SnozzberryPie · 05/07/2015 23:57

Avoid changing nappies did you say? I'm off to tell dp the good news Grin

Didi I'm huge too, already had people ask if it's twins.

WelcomeToTheBungle · 06/07/2015 07:34

Damn I had no idea my toddler was too heavy and shitty to deal with. On the other hand, I think he's getting ready to potty train so that should solve that problem.

annatha did you get any good advice for dealing with spd?! What a numpty! How old is your dd?

I'm the same size I was at about 26 weeks last time, so feel a month further along than I really am.

We're on holiday in Dorset at the moment so trying to get out for gentle but loooong walks as much as possible. But less than 24 hours in thevsub wearing factor 50 has me looking like one giant freckle! I didn't realise just how much more sensitive to sun I'd be!

ChicBabyP · 06/07/2015 13:15

Welcome to the newcomers.
And annatha, thanks for the laugh! Really weird for them to say that. I mean, how on earth has everyone else done it over the centuries with smallish age gaps? Sorry to hear you have spd though, had a friend with a bad case so i know how bad it can get.

didIleavethegason, i am indeed massive! But i am having twins. I just don't want to tell people yet so when they ask how far along i am I just tell them about which month i'm in, not exact dates or anything. I anyways think it's none of anybody's business. People can be really nosy! And i find it so rude when someone says, 'oh my you're really big'. Maybe i'm just over sensitive at the moment....

Had my 21wk scan last week and all is great. We also found out what we're having but i'll stay team yellow here!

AbbeyRoadCrossing · 06/07/2015 13:25

annatha wow, what erm...interesting advice. Not very helpful for you though

I'm still small, think I'm nearly 24 weeks now and still waiting for the first stranger comment. I was small with DS so not overly concerned bit I do hate the comments that imply I'm not eating properly or that the baby will be tiny. I think people just don't think that pregnant women are already worried enough without worrying comments!

So, I have to tell work I'm pregnant next week (end of week 25 is the legal cut off). I'm not in the office at the moment as am on annual leave until late August. Is a phone call acceptable do you reckon? I don't really want to make a special trip in to the office

Unthoughtknown · 06/07/2015 17:25

id email Abbey, you have an audit trail that shows you've given the correct notice then.

I had my first 'how far along are you?' from a stranger today. Was thinking, woah love that's a bit risky. I then looked in the mirror and realised my bump looks enormous.

AbbeyRoadCrossing · 06/07/2015 17:36

Thanks, yeah I'll email as well so my boss and HR have all the info and I have evidence like you say. Just wasn't sure if I should drop that bombshell on the phone beforehand out of politeness? I doubt they'll be that bothered though, they've pretty much ignored me during my first mat leave, no response to emails, kit day requests etc - I'd be amazed if they even answer the phone!

Vickytaylor22 · 06/07/2015 20:17

hi ladies :) I'm new to the group. I'm 21 weeks and due on the 17th of November ????

annatha · 06/07/2015 21:55

No practical advice at all, just advised to come back if it gets worse. Its frustrating because I don't fully know if its SPD or not but everything I'm reading is matching up to the pains I'm experiencing. Dd is 8 months old and a dinky 16lb so I know I could have it much worse carrying a toddler around, but she's at an age where she's constantly rolling off to where she shouldn't go but isn't happy strapped into bouncy chairs so unless we're out I spend a good portion of my day scooping her off the floor. I'm going to try and see a different doctor if it gets worse as this one seems a bit useless when it comes to pregnancy and babies. He didn't understand what weaning was and thought that when I stopped breastfeeding at 3 months I had stopped giving her any kind of milk whatsoever (and was fine with that) Hmm

Re. size- I am massive!! Sporting an actual bump shaped bump now which didn't happen until at least 30 weeks last time. I'm quite happy about that as I just looked fatter than normal. Still haven't really felt anything but reading through my scan notes I spotted "ant upper" under the placenta section, so I'm assuming I've got an anterior placenta cushioning the kicks again.

austengirl · 07/07/2015 08:08

Welcome Vickytaylor22 anka and Didleavethegason! Glad your scan went well ChicBabyP.

That advice sounds in no way helpful annatha, I hope you're able to see a different doctor. And I'm pretty sure my notes say the same thing: re placenta as I asked the scan technician to confirm if I had an anterior placenta and I do. Felt quite a few little flutterings, but only a couple of definite kicks.

BowiesJumper · 07/07/2015 12:44

Welcome new people!

Nothing much to report here. I've been so busy at work its been mad, but I think I'm lucky in that I'm not feeling extra tired or anything. Still 17 weeks to go to suffer though! Ha.

TakesTwoToTango · 07/07/2015 16:22

Also massive here Hmm no idea how I'm going to keep on growing for the next c.19 weeks! Baby is going to be big they think. My poor body!

Ann - crazy spd advice. I was given the same in my pgs. I just ignored it and worked within my limits/to necessity as much as possible.

Dixiebell · 07/07/2015 16:25

My surprise little girl Grin (two boys, was expecting no.3). Also so happy that everything was fine, only thing is a low lying placenta (again, same as last time). But at least I get one more scan, and hopefully will just move up out of way as it did last time.

Dixiebell · 07/07/2015 16:27

Btw, I wanted to say that memory foam mattress topper for nighttime hip pain is good! I didn't have any pain at all before we went on holiday, then the first night of sleeping on a 'normal' mattress and I was tossing and turning all night in pain! I stacked up some spare duvets underneath me for the week, but once we got back to my (vair pricey) John Lewis memory foam mattress topper, it was much much better. A good investment, I only wish I'd known it two pregnancies ago!

Gr33dyeggs · 07/07/2015 20:31

Welcome didileave I'm huge! My size 12 maternity trousers I wore up to ds edd are too tight and at 23 weeks I've put over a stone on and am only 5 lbs off what I weighed with him at 40+9 Hmm. I bought 2 maxi dresses yesterday to see me through!

DidILeaveTheGasOn · 07/07/2015 21:04

Dixie congrats on your little girl :) A mattress topper is a life saver, I've not had back pain or hip pain yet with ours (we didn't have one last time).

Gr33dyeggs that is SO reassuring. I've put on a stone too (more, but I'm not weighing myself!) and I'm near the weight now I was at the end of my pregnancy with DD. I can really see it in my face as well, although my legs and the rest of me are the same size as before, thank goodness. My legs really ballooned last time, I retained so much water, so did my feet, ugh it was awful.

Stroan · 07/07/2015 21:35

Hello November (and some October) ladies! It's been months since I joined in here, but I've been reading along. Hope you are all well and coping with the heat.

I'm now 22 weeks (20 week scan all fine and I'm in team Yellow) and finally stopped feeling quite so nauseous. I have no idea how anyone with HG copes because I've been a useless mess. Now that I feel better, I also feel a lot less anxious and a lot more excited.

In amongst all of that, we bought a house and moved - really don't recommend moving house while pregnant, although the future grandparents were all pretty keen to help out! Plus, I found out my little sister is pregnant and due the same week that I am - she's a couple of days ahead of me but I'm competitive so hoping to sneak in there and have the 1st grandchild Wink

Has anyone had to use a support pillow yet? Any recommendations? Propped myself up on some spare ones last night and had a good night sleep, so might be time for a proper version.

Laura7010 · 07/07/2015 21:57

Ha stroan we've just had an offer accepted on a house! Hopefully it will go through quickly :-/

I keep having a dream that my bump has disappeared and I have s flat stomach. This irrationally worries me a little. Any other weird dreams??
