mumo we do have a sling library, it was their wompat that i tried. But i cant get to it now im working full time as it runs on a Tuesday morning.
A great starter sling is a stretchy wrap, you can get one for about £20 from Victoria Sling Lady. Or a close caboo is the same sort of.thing but supposed to be even easier to use.

twinsandapenguin · 14/06/2015 16:10

I found "it's a sling thing" great if you can't get to a physical sling library. They post them out to you. I am a Tula fan now, so comfy

Afternoon everyone,

So lovely to see lots of bfp's joining and more symptoms added!

I am a bit low today, I have had brown discharge when I wipe (twice now) and period like cramps....

So silly but I don't want to go to work tomorrow, I'm a teacher so if I get worse during the day it's much trickier to cover me than if I ring in. Can't imagine teaching feeling g like I do right now. I know it might be nothing.....but also know it might've something!

MayFlowers16 · 14/06/2015 16:59

Try not to worry too much Lynnie brown discharge is most likely to be fine. Fingers crossed for you anyway.

Bigfox, yes it's great to have company Smile Most people I know seem to have two year gaps but I'm glad it's worked out like this for us.

Feeling inspired by all the sling talk. I bought a Baba sling (too late really) for dd and we never got on with it. I would like to give something else a try this time.

birdbrain21 · 14/06/2015 17:00

Someone asked about buying for the baby before 12 weeks (sorry I'm terrible with names) I didn't buy anything last time until after 20 week scan and no maternity clothes till after 12 weeks but I have a voucher for maternity clothes that runs out in a week and I don't fit my summer clothes so planning on going shopping, I feel funny to buy things for the baby till I've seen a wriggling bean on a scan but that's personal choice if you want to buy go ahead!
Symptom wise I'm exhausted, aching boobs whenever my dd headbutts me , hungry the whole time but the worst is I jist seem to be feeling really depressed. I've always had bad mood swings with my periods but it's never been this bad not last time either. I just have no interest in doing anything or being with anyone. Tried to explain to DH why I was being so off with him but don't think he understands I still feel like this as I've been trying to make more of an effort but inside I just feel numb. Have my mw booking in on Wednesday so I guess I'll bring it up but not sure how they can help. I just hate feeling so low really wanted to enjoy this pg not stress like last time but I just don't care about anything! Really hard to control my already difficult class when you don't care so had a c* week last week hope it gets better soon!

RhiPea · 14/06/2015 17:03

Thanks for the add monkerina- I have apple devices so not sure the software translates!
My sister is an absolute sling nut- she has about 14 different ones- I keep taking the mickey and calling her a hippy (she is a bit!). I'm going to be pretty sheepish when I start asking her properly about them! She asked me to enter a sling winning competition on her behalf the other day- found it really hard to say 'only if you enter for me too'!
5 weeks tomorrow- still waiting for symptoms Hmm
Oooh passive where will you be going for your scans etc? I'm first preg so no idea where's best!

accidentaldancer · 14/06/2015 17:13

Off to see Jurassic World at 6pm with DH. Do we think it is at all possible for me to fall asleep during the film? I so need a snooze...zzz

GoulashSoup · 14/06/2015 17:28

Lynnie sorry you've had a bit of spotting. It is a worry even if you low it is probably nothing, it's the potential that it could be something. I have had little bleeds and cramps on and off for a week. I have found keeping as busy as energy levels allow has helped to keep me distracted. I wouldn't blame you for calling in with a bad tummy tomorrow, but if you do go in the day may go quicker. I hope it subsides soon Flowers

GoulashSoup · 14/06/2015 17:29

Bird sorry you are feeling glum Flowers

purdiepie · 14/06/2015 17:32

Beware of slings: some babies refuse to be put down and slinging them everywhere can compound their need to be held. It's all very nice in the beginning feeling wanted by a squishy baby, but a velcro tot can break you months down the line.

Goulash, lovely, I was only teasing you. I actually think my slit'like gum injuries and general tenderness has more to do with the fact I ravaged a Greggs tuna crunch baquette t'other day. Have you seen the violent crust atop them bastards?!

Charlotte, nice to see you. Can you busy yourself next week? Please go for that scan otherwise I don't know how I'll cope Grin

I am v nauseous this arvo but I think that's because I've OD'd on Lactulose and energy drinks Hmm

Mumof1sofar · 14/06/2015 17:39

Blue you can usually find your local one if you search on facebook eg 'Exeter sling library', then you can join! We have a close caboo too & dd1 loved it when she was a newborn.

There is a lady who lives near me who has twins- she carries BOTH in a sling (doesn't have a double buggy) & breastfeeds them in it too!

Hope all is ok Lynnie. As May said brown discharge should be nothing to worry about.

Good luck with booking in bird.

birdbrain21 · 14/06/2015 17:56

lynie hope your ok. Easier said then done not to worry but I read yesterday that 20% of woman have regular bleeding through pregnancy and have health babies.

Goulash thanks! After I had a good rant to DH on thursday about how I felt he actually came home with a beautiful bunch of flowers for me (I always say he doesn't get often enough) but being a typical man he now thinks they've made everything better...

SweetCharlotteRose · 14/06/2015 18:10

I have discovered that the only way I can stop feeling sick is to eat. Constantly. Dear god. I'm going to turn into someone who needs the side of the house taking off just to get out.

Purdie the cheek! ShockGrin

SweetCharlotteRose · 14/06/2015 18:11

lynnie hoping the spotting has stopped now.

twinsandapenguin · 14/06/2015 18:14

Bird, I was similar in my first pregnancy. I found it came and went. Generally I was just a grumpy grot bag but I felt pretty low at times. DH knows better what to expect this time! Is this your first?

Lynnie, I think this does happen a lot so try not to worry too much. Maybe a duvet day is in order tomorrow.

rallytog1 · 14/06/2015 18:24

You will not fall asleep dancer - we saw Jurassic World last night and it was a bit of a rip-roaring ride.

Nice to see you still here charlotte Smile

Brummiegirl15 · 14/06/2015 18:42

Glad to see you are still here Charlotte remember each day you are still pregnant.

Lynnie fingers crossed everything is ok.

Well my nausea seems to have reduced right down but I'm struggling with the tiredness and still have sore boobs

Marsaday · 14/06/2015 18:42

purdie I'm not sure there is any proof you can create a velcro baby by slinging. Actually I'm sure i read something about stronger attachment creating a more confident baby. It is normal that tiny babies don't want to be put down, if you google 4th trimester it explains all about it. In any case, i wore my baby wrapped on me a lot of the time when he was little, and daily up until he was one and i went back to work. He had dreadful wind and wearing him on me upright was rhe only way to stop hours of screaming. He came out on my back this afternoon, and he still loves it. He is now 16 months and the complete opposite of velcro!

jellypi3 · 14/06/2015 18:51

Blimey I can't believe you lot are talking slings! I've not even thought about buying stuff for my jelly-bean. Had the major munchies today!

OP posts:
Marsaday · 14/06/2015 18:59

Haha jelli i wouldn't be buying them now for new baby, but ive still got my stash that i use with toddler!

I also cannot stop eating. Have constant urge to graze on rubbish all day long - i very much have a sweet tooth, but just like last pg i have gone off sugar and just want savoury like crisps , chips, peanuts... Im gonna be a blimpShock

rallytog1 · 14/06/2015 19:05

The other thing about slings is some babies hate them! I bought several expensive slings before I had dd as I was convinced I would be a baby wearer (or whatever they're called). However she was the complete opposite of a Velcro baby from the start and was always happiest in her own space. She would scream and scream after about 5 mins in a sling. Even the sling library ladies couldn't find us one that worked. Which was disappointing, but actually worked out quite well as she was always happy entertaining herself.

Lilymog · 14/06/2015 19:13

Can anyone tell me why me pee and other stuff is bright yellow? Could it be the pregnacare? It's upsetting my tummy everyday about 5 hours after taking it! Xx

RattyCatty · 14/06/2015 19:38

Hope you're ok lynnie try & get some sleep tonight. crossing fingers it's a harmless bit of spotting.

I had no idea there were so many different slings?!

DH had a minor go at me earlier about worrying so much. Did put things in perspective a bit but hoping hormones are making me (us?!) worse!? Going to go to EPU on tues now school pending as DH going away for weekend on thurs.

Happy Sunday ladies- I'm stuffing curry down!

birdbrain21 · 14/06/2015 19:58

twins this is my second. Last time I also got a bit moody and grumpy but this time I've just been feeling really really low for over a week now. I am looking forward to having another baby but apart from that just not interested in anything, not my DH, not my job, nothing! The only person who can cheer me up is dd when she's in a good mood but as a 2 year old she's unfortunately not in a good mood that often
