Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Yes congrats elephant. Maybe the sonographer wasn't a pregnancy ultrasound specialist? Also I think they tend to be a bit non-committal about risks etc, as they like to cover their backsides!

MayFlowers16 · 11/06/2015 20:06

Has anybody tried travel wristbands for their sickness? I really wasn't expecting them to make much difference but I was getting desperate willing to try anything. So far I do feel quite a bit better than I normally would in the evening. I almost managed to change dd's dirty nappy without wanting to run to the loo to throw up!

Mirabal · 11/06/2015 20:48

I'm so sorry morecake, I can't imagine how this feels. Keep faith, it will happen for you. Haven't tried wristbands but good idea. I have also heard for hg that acupuncture can really help if you do it fairly early in. There is a really good Hg thread in general pregnancy bit looked after by the kindest woman, lots on there with hg and bad morning sickness x

Cheesypop · 11/06/2015 20:51

Sorry morecake that's really awful for you Flowers

Lahottie I know your consultant through work and he is great. Very clever chap but not at all full of himself. You're in good hands.

Carltonlives · 11/06/2015 21:39

Flowers for everyone bleeding, spotting or worrying. i hope everything turns out fine for all of you

lahottie I hope you feel better really soon

elephant yay for heartbeat! Some of the sonographers don't have much bedside manner at all, but don't let that distract from your little ones strong heartbeat. When I was pg with my first, during the 12 week scan the baby was really jumping about while the sonographer was trying to measure, and she was getting really annoyed with the baby! Huffing and puffing and calling the baby naughty (not in a joking way either!) I couldn't believe it! She didn't even crack a smile the whole time I was in there. I think their jobs much be very pressured.

So, has anyone thought of any fun ways to announce to family? I just said 'I'm pregnant' last time so want something a bit more fun this time Smile

haquoi123 · 11/06/2015 21:48

elephant, congrats on your heartbeat! And a kick from me to the sonographer.

My bleeding is on and off, so not the end.

haquoi123 · 11/06/2015 21:52

Oh also, for good stats, Emily Oster is fantastic.

jelly could you add me to the spreadsheet? Age 26, #2 (DS late miscarriage 19 weeks), EDD around 5th Feb

accidentaldancer · 11/06/2015 22:13

Banana and Mirabal – welcome and congratulations on your BFPs!

Rufus - how are you feeling now? Look after yourself.

Elephant – congrats on the heartbeat!

Flowers to all those suffering with sickness and nausea. Lahottie – I hope that things start to get better for you and you are back up on your feet soon!

I too have been waking up early and by all accounts talking lots in my sleep! I’ve been too tired to finish my work this evening and therefore I am hoping I can make the most of waking up at 5am tomorrow morning.
Flowers to all those suffering with sickness and nausea.

Morecake – I’m not sure what I can say other than big hugs and please take some time and surround yourself with lovely, kind people. Thinking of you.

rattycatty, rose, newbieblue, JNF – I too am in the no symptoms other than extreme tiredness camp. Not sure how to feel about it all really but just going to try and take things a day at a time.

I have decided to hang up my netball trainers for the time being. I'm too tired to contemplate training and just need excuses for my absence now as not really wanting to tell people just yet. Played the 'work' card today but may have to pretend to be injured if all goes well.

Raaaaaah · 11/06/2015 23:45

I'm really, really sorry morecake. How truly shite for you.

I have literally no symptoms. Apart from vaguely sore boobs I feel pretty good. Was worrying about it a bit. I went to swimming training tonight and it put me in a really good frame of mind. Feeling pragmatic now. I have no control over the outcome of this so it's out of my hands. I mean that in a positive way rather than a defeatist one Smile. I know that is hardly a philosophical revelation but a girls got to try Wink!

haquoi123 · 12/06/2015 00:03

I think that's a great frame of mind to be in raaah, one I'm aiming for, although I'm not sure I'm quite there yet! I was encouraged today to try not to think negatively but to treasure each day that I have with the baby. That's really helped so far.

How're you feeling rufus?

Raffertys · 12/06/2015 06:39

Morning everyone!

may I used travel sickness bands for my morning sickness when I was pregnant with ds. I'm going to get some for this one as the nausea is well and truly here.

I'm more sick in the evening - anyone else find that??

rallytog1 · 12/06/2015 07:24

I'm sick late morning and afternoon Raffertys. There is no rhyme or reason to this pregnancy lark!

Hope you're feeling better today Rufus - is it the wedding today?

Hope everyone has a good day - at least we're not heavily pregnant in this heat!

Rufus200 · 12/06/2015 07:25

Morning everyone

Elephant congrats on your heart beat, not all ultrasonographers are that skilled or know exactly what they are looking at! They mostly aren't Drs and are just trained technicians that know that they have to take certain measurements and then they get reviewed by a Dr!

So survived the rehearsal but literally had sweat dripping down my arms and this was at 6pm and the wedding is at 5pm today and it is even hotter today. This morning I have nausea which I haven't had for a week, did it seriously have to return today!
DH donated our villa as bride central last night Shock so I'm about to have 7 women turn up and take over and I'm trying to keep my porridge down! I actually can't believe he did it, my jaw was on my chest as the words came out his mouth! He then announced that he plans to drive off and spend the day sight seeing and leave me to play hostess!

Tiredoftiredness · 12/06/2015 07:34

Oh no rufus not an easy way to spend the day! Hope it all goes well and you cope in the heat. It's hot in UK atm and I find it's making me really lightheaded, the idea of standing up outside in a fancy dress is horrifying!

raffetys same here. I feel fine during the day but mid to late evening is when it hits me.

raviolig · 12/06/2015 07:39

Hello everyone. I haven't had chance to read the thread yet so excuse me if I have missed anything. I found out yesterday I am pregnant with my third. So happy. We had been ttc since January. I have got a drs appt this morning, (to get referred to midwife). I am still not quite believing it so a bit giddy. I have been feeling very tired and had a stretching feeling in my stomach but all week I thought it was af coming. Due yesterday so I took a test and it came up positive straight away. Really excited now but it is very early. Due around 18th February I think.

Rufus200 · 12/06/2015 08:15

Thank you to all those talking about anti nausea bands, you reminded me I had some with me. I put them on as I was on the verge of vomiting and it was literally like someone turned the dial down on the nausea, I would say it was 80% reduced within 5 mins!!!

Mirabal · 12/06/2015 08:29

Oh rubus that doesn't sound at all fair, I think it's asking way too much of you in your delicate state. I sometimes think that people who haven't experienced pregnancy sickness refind it hard to imagine just how awful it is....you need to get dh to remember the last time he was laid out in bed with a bug and how difficult it would have been to do what you're being asked to do. Just because it's related to pregnancy and therefore might be more chronic than a 48 hour bug, doesn't mean it's not as bad! Sorry, rant over

Mirabal · 12/06/2015 08:30

Sorry.....rufus!

rallytog1 · 12/06/2015 08:38

Your dh owes you one, big style rufus!

Stepawayfromthezebras · 12/06/2015 08:54

I hope today goes well Rufus

Breathlessness - now that's a really fun symptom indeed Angry

Marsaday · 12/06/2015 09:15

Morning nausea club...
I feel queasy in the evenings when i get hungry prior to dinner, but now its starting at other times too.
Yesterday was a real struggle, i taught 3 of my 5 lessons on the verge of running out of the room. Doesnt help that my.classroom is far too hot and has 2 tiny windows so no way to get fresh air in.
This.morning i woke at 5am.feeling.sick, managed to eat cereal but still feeling sick.
I don't really know what to do within myself, my first pg i had no nausea at all!

Marsaday · 12/06/2015 09:34

Blooming heck, I've just called midwife to get a booking in apt. The earliest they can give me is 13 july, when i will be 11+4!! They don't even request the scan until that date, so im now really worried that i wont get in the window for the nuchal fold screening, as i am then away for a week and half of the 3 week period after that!
Feeling ridiculously upset about it. Triee explaining this to reception but she said nothing she can do as all appts are fully booked before that.

tossedsalads · 12/06/2015 09:37

Hi everyone

I haven't been around this week as it has all gone a bit shit.

Following my worries about lack of symptoms and failure to get 3+ weeks on the dreaded CB digital, I have started to bleed. It was light enough at the start of the week but today it is getting heavier and bright red.

So I think that this is it for me, as it is exactly how my miscarriage a few years ago started (ironically on exactly the same date and at the same amount of weeks pregnant).

I'm ok as i have been preparing myself for this for the past couple of weeks. Also, as I have been through it all before I know what to expect and am not too scared. Just a bit down about it as we probably won't be able to try for another year now due to different events happening.

Oh by the way, I don't mean the above to scare anyone else with the lack of symptoms etc, its just that I know that in both of my healthy pregnancies I was getting strong symptoms and positives by now, so I just felt that it wasn't right for me. I know that lots of people do remain symptomless for a long time with no problems.

I'm not rushing to the local EPU today as I do feel fine, will go over the weekend at some point (usually a good couple of hours waiting time!).

I will be sorry to be leaving this thread, its so friendly. Good luck to all of you, especially those with amazing stories of IVF and miracle pregnancies!!
