rufus that sounds nightmare-ish! Best of luck with it all!

marsaday that sounds awful! Can you get a mini fan, would that help? In my last pg I remember standing in my kitchen crying because I'd just vomited all my breakfast and needed to eat but felt so awful I didn't want to, with my sis and DH laughing at me because I was so pathetic. I wholly understand that feeling of not knowing what to do with yourself! I really feel for you!

haquoi123 · 12/06/2015 09:41

X post, sorry! I'm so so sorry to hear that salad, that truly sucks. Thinking of you and hope you've got support xx

Mirabal · 12/06/2015 09:51

So sorry salads that is horrible

marsaday could you ask to go on a list for cancellation appointments , that does sound a stressful situation

Stepawayfromthezebras · 12/06/2015 09:57

Oh salads I'm so sorry, thinking of you

And marsaday that sounds very stressful indeed - hopefully they'd make you a priority for booking in a scan?

Marsaday · 12/06/2015 10:16

They send letters out for the scan - i have worked out the because of the delay for a booking apt, and the way that weekends fall, they could only scan me on 4 days immediately after booking apt (not gonna happen as takes longer than that to get letter in post) or on 2 days after im back from hols then its weekend, then im too far gone for the nt screening. I'll be 35 so it is important to me to have it. Dunno what to do - have just checked private clinics in the area who do nuchal screen nd they have no free apts in the window i need. Sad

MayFlowers16 · 12/06/2015 10:38

Morning all, welcome raviolig

I'm so sorry salads

Mirabel I totally agree that this, sickness is as debilitating as an acute bug.

I'm definitely worse in the afternoons and evenings, I think the wristbands are helping but they've left a lovely dent in my wrist.

Bit worrying about the scan delay Mars I have neither my booking appointment nor my scan through yet. I'm 37 so the nuchal testing I'd important to me too.

MayFlowers16 · 12/06/2015 10:39

*IS important to me.

RattyCatty · 12/06/2015 10:41

I'm so sorry tossedsalad be kind to yourself Flowers

marsaday can you request a diff hospital?

MayFlowers16 · 12/06/2015 10:43

Bigfox same here re the sleeplessness. I feel like I could sleep for England all evening, yet when I do go to bed I'm really restless. Confused

Bluenewbie · 12/06/2015 10:46

so sorry salads, sending you warm wishes Flowers

rufus glad that the band helps! at least some help. Hopefully you will manage somehow. make your DH work-he owes you!

marsaday my GP sent a letter to the hospital on Tuesday morning and I got my scan date letter from the hospital today. I will try to change the date though as I'm on hols then. I've heard you can have blood test at around 16week, which is at least as accurate as scan(or more?) . I don't know how helpful it is since it is so late in PG, what do you think girls?is it too late for decisions?(if someone would like to make one at this point).

sending good vibes to all ladies for today Flowers

Stick on Beans!

purdiepie · 12/06/2015 11:28

salads, I'm so sorry you're bleeding, bless you.

I'm not hurrying to mw as the nucal scan results would not affect my continuing with the pregnancy. I know I'll be given a high-risk statistic anyway being 43. I really don't care.

MayFlowers16 · 12/06/2015 11:32

I know what you mean about the scans Purdie. I just think I would want to know, so that I would be prepared. Bit of a control freak, me.

Brummiegirl15 · 12/06/2015 11:48

Tossed I'm so sorry to hear that. Big hugs Flowers

Had my early scan this morning - I'm 6+2 so due 3rd Feb and there was a little heartbeat frantically beating away. Am pleased but very cautious as had heartbeat previously and still lost.

Had my first clexane injection as well so have to do that every day. Was ok, didn't hurt at all, very relieved .

Rufus hope you are doing ok

MayFlowers16 · 12/06/2015 11:50

Great news Brummie Smile

JNF8 · 12/06/2015 12:05

wow did I jinx myself yesterday saying I hadn't had any symptoms. Emotional wreck this morning and feel so sick. Haven't got time for this today. Inlaws coming round later so have to make sure house is clean, and going away on holiday with mum and sister tomorrow so need to pack and make sure all the animals are cleaned out and ready too.
Might go and have a laydown for half an hour first.

Bluenewbie · 12/06/2015 12:18

congrats Brummie for today's heartbeat! :) Stick on Bean! Flowers

re scans:
purdiepie MayFlowers16 Marsaday the nuchal scan or quadruple blood test(between 14-20 week) will give us a risk percentage. That only means possibility, that's not the answer at all. if there is a high risk then we will be offered a confirmation tests(if DownS is present) which are invasive and 1 in 100 will cause MC.
I myslef find all the tests a bit late, but what can we do. I stand with you purdiepie on this subject. I want to continue anyway.(My DP disagrees with me unfortunately, hence my research in this subject) There are women that would like to have a choice though. And I think the choice is much harder in such late PG.

btw I'm newbieblue, just prefer when you call me blue not newbie(but still this is my first PG) so I've put this part in front of my nickname ;)

Bluenewbie · 12/06/2015 12:20

JNF8 we must be careful what we wish for ;) I hope my test will come doubled on Tuesday so I can enjoy symptomless PG . Hope you will feel better JNF. rest well.

haquoi123 · 12/06/2015 12:44

Wonderful news brummie! What's the clexane for,, if you don't mind me asking?

blue and purdie I'm with you on the nuchal scans - we're probably not going to screen for downs and we didn't last time. Each to their own though

Brummiegirl15 · 12/06/2015 12:58

Haquoi not at all. Clexane is a low molecular weight heparin and I'm specifically taking it to protect the development of the placenta - but side effects include thinning of the blood.

I'm taking progesterone as well to support my lining

jellypi3 · 12/06/2015 13:25

Afternoon everyone. Had my scan today, measuring perfect for my dates. saw a heartbeat flickering away which was amazing.

Congrats on your little beans HB too brummie :)

Bluenewbie · 12/06/2015 13:40

fantastic news jellypi! :) Flowers

my scan is set up fr 21 July but I have to reschedule or cancel hols. so wish to have it done before going. Would be much ore reassuring then HCG levels.

rallytog1 · 12/06/2015 14:23

Yay jelly!

Cancelling your hols would be a bit extreme blue - if you phone the number on your scan letter, they should just be able to give you another appointment. I know it's really difficult when you haven't done any of this before and the communication seems to be terrible (usually because it is!), but I found last time around that if you're clear on what you need/want and you ask for it nicely, people are usually as amenable and flexible as they can be (within the constraints of an underfunded service). Shy bairns get nowt, as my dear grandad used to say.

haquoi123 · 12/06/2015 15:13

brummie do you mind me asking about why? I know you mentioned a previous miscarriage, which I'm really sorry to hear about. I'm interested because one of the possible reasons my son died was that the placenta had number of clots on it (as well as possible infection or incompetent cervix, really no answers!), so they're putting me on aspirin if I get to 7 weeks. Really got my fingers crossed for you btw.

Brummiegirl15 · 12/06/2015 16:03

Haquoi it's because I've had 3 miscarriages in a row. I'm so so sorry about your son.

Progesterone and heparin injections is the standard treatment for recurrent miscarriage - your lining can also be tested for high natural killer cells ( the inflammation in the lining stops the baby being able to survive) but I was negative so I don't need steroids.

For your cervix, I'm concerned about mine as I've had 2 previously letz procedures so I worry about it being up to the job. Often taking progesterone throughout the pregnancy is the answer or a stitch

So clexane could be something you would consider - depends what your midwife says

Lamaitresse · 12/06/2015 16:48

So sorry to hear your news salad Flowers

This afternoon I was admitted to hospital with dehydration and a high level of ketones. Can't keep anything down and feel so ill Sad

Lovely to hear good scan news though Smile
