sleepy yes I feel like chocolate and it's making DH feel nauseous but hey if it stops my stretch marks ill take it

SleepyDragon · 11/06/2015 15:06

currently sat at my desk with my trousers and belt undone - thank god i have my own office and a long top on, the relief is immense!!!!

SleepyDragon · 11/06/2015 15:07

I'd be worried about DH trying to bite me MrsChatty he's a right chocolate fiend!!!

babybabynamechange · 11/06/2015 15:36

Had a bit of a craving for a curry and ended up making one that was too big for my biggest casserole dish! Can't wait for dinner now - and quite pleased there will be lots of leftovers too as only have the energy to cook occasionally at the moment.

I did manage to go for a good run yesterday, I ran 4.5km which since I'm now "running for 3" is the equivalent to running 13.5km IMO Grin

mrschatty · 11/06/2015 15:46

baby you absolutely put me to shame and your having twins! I cba doing anything g and I'm only having 1.. as far as I know! My tummy seems to have deflated tge last few days- could be because I've felt ill not been eating as much- maybe bloating has died down- is this a concern?

babybabynamechange · 11/06/2015 15:52

I really don't think a twin pregnancy is much different from a singleton at this stage - my babies each only the size of a kidney bean :) Watch out for my spending the whole of the 3rd trimester (however far I get) in bed though Grin

I'm totally exhausted tbh but sitting on the sofa watching tv doesn't seem to make me less exhausted so I'm trying to keep moving.

Pregnancy symptoms change day by day, I know it's hard but I really wouldn't worry about tummy deflating or anything like that. With my first pregnancy I suffered terrible bloating - but it wasn't baby, it was just bloat and I was actually smaller at 20weeks than 12weeks by the time the bloat at faded! That said you do need to try to keep eating, little and often - if your nausea is so bad that you can't eat at all you should see your GP. I'm very lucky that my nausea is (so far) mild, I'm very grateful!

AlohaMama · 11/06/2015 15:54

crumble that's always the way. I'm always so busy packing for the kidsand DH that when we got out it's always my sunscreen/coat/drink that I've forgotten!

mrschatty don't worry, just enjoy being able to do up trousers again! I had a big bump the last few weeks but in the last couple of days it's gone down noticeably - I even wore jeans yesterday, done up and everything!!

goodnessgraciousgouda · 11/06/2015 15:59

name change - I know what you mean about the tiredness. I feel really tired almost all the time, but when I lie down to try and have a nap I can't sleep, and even having rested makes bugger all difference.

If anything staying a bit more active seems to wake me up a bit.

It's so ridiculously contrary!!!

mrschatty - the bloating will be partly down to whatever you've been eating, how much you've been drinking, and whatever your digestion is doing at the moment. No concern whatsoever!

kep1979 · 11/06/2015 16:02

Well just spoke to the lovely nurse practitoner at my GP surgery, she is soooo much nicer than my dickhead unsympathetic GP. She spoke to EPAS for me and they are seeing me tomorrow at 9.30am. I feel a bit guilty as the spotting has stopped now, although I feel achy, but that could just be normal. But on the other hand I feel really stressed so hopefully they will be able to put my mind at ease tomorrow.... and hopefully will get to see a happy healthy little Bean. Fingers crossed! It has been the longest day today, cannot wait to go home!

mrschatty · 11/06/2015 16:05

Thanks everyone I've been eating loads of grapefruit this week maybe that's helped or all the water I've been having to settle my tum!
I can't wait till the scans start coming think and fast wonder if well have any more twins!

spooble · 11/06/2015 16:15

Today is shaping up pretty nicely so far - I've had my first mainly nausea free day in weeks! I'm sure it will reappear soon though... Treated myself to an ice-cream in celebration Smile

Also just got back from my booking in appointment, pretty uneventful but nice to meet a midwife (and get told all the things I should/shouldn't have been doing for the last 8.5 weeks Confused

Readyforthefuture · 11/06/2015 16:24

Fingers crossed for you tomorrow kep, I hope it's just part of the process.

Feeling a little guilty with those of you suffering through work, I'm still on hols at the moment. Can only say I've never slept so much in my life and it's really helped ease some of my symptoms, still finding evenings and food tough going which is rubbish in a all inclusive Al la carte (poor dh is being so patient).

Loving hearing about scans and booking in appointments, my booking in is on Wednesday, and hoping there's some news on a scan in my post when I get home.

Good luck to those of you with appointments coming up

EdgarAllenPoe · 11/06/2015 16:24

I have discovered the tea of kings - chicken supernoodles and fishfingers. I've also been eating a lot of tinned peaches and ice cubes this week.

Completely knackered today. I've been in long, long, meetings for the past two days doing the minutes so I can't up and leave every 30 minutes for a wee, which is what I would ideally like to do.

I haven't been sick, but my house smells of wet mortar and cement, and this smell makes me nauseous. Delightful.

Oysterbabe · 11/06/2015 16:28

That sounds delicious. I'm all about potatoes just now. And apples, done a bag of granny smiths this week.

ValancyJane · 11/06/2015 16:31

Ladies I need a bit of handholding / a slap (I think both, to be honest!)

I've had awful nausea and tiredness all week. I have felt absolutely dreadful, like a constantly hungover zombie to be quite honest, and have been moaning constantly! Then yesterday evening I had a short nap (much shorter than usual) perked up and had an evening of feeling quite good. Went to bed and had a hideous dream that I'd miscarried, and woke up to absolutely no morning sickness and feeling absolutely fine.

All day I have felt great - a touch or nausea here or there - but generally really good, I have some energy whereas normally by this time I'm ready to crash. I don't think I'd be getting overly worried if I hadn't dreamed I'd miscarried, and then woken up to no symptoms whatsoever. No cramps or bleeding so I know I'm probably overreacting. Anyone else had their symptoms suddenly vanish and it all turned out fine??

Anyway, got worried and booked a scan for Sunday (was previously toying with 'holding on' until the 12 week scan - today made me cave!) so at least we should know either way then.

On a lighter note, I can report that the NHS have married me off on their records - all my letters are coming to 'Mrs X' while I am very much still a Miss!

ValancyJane · 11/06/2015 16:31

Oh, and I'm only 7+4, so seems early to me for nausea to be vanishing :(

moonshine25 · 11/06/2015 16:47

Hope you're ok kep after your stressful day, will be thinking of you at your scan tomorrow morning!!

Snooble I've just got back from mine too - also uneventful! Although she's put me down as consultant led care due to my bad back - not sure if that's a good thing or not but it's nice to know that I'll have someone else looking after me too I guess.

Oh so to combat bloating I should up my water intake? I'm going to start right now I feel so fat!!

goodnessgraciousgouda · 11/06/2015 16:47

valancy - It won't have vanished. You're just having a good day. My morning sickness started pretty much bang on 6 weeks, and by 7+4 I was beginning to have good days. I've also had dreams about miscarrying. It's good that you've booked your scan to reassure yourself, but you just have to bear in mind that it's only a dream. Dreams don't mean anything - it's just the subconscious playing on your worries. It's no more true than a dream where you give birth to a horse.

If dreams are indicators of anything, then according to my pregnancy dreams:

  • I am pregnant with five beans. A set of twins, and a set of triplets, one of which didn't make it

  • My grandma already knows that it's not a boy and has already bought the first dresses (my grandma is long dead)

  • I've miscarried three times.

It actually really irritates me that websites always make such a massive deal out of morning sickness. It's just so different for everyone that it really isn't helpful to have just about every single online resource saying that you will start feeling better towards the end of the first trimester - as if that is some kind of scientific given that everyone adheres to - unless of course you feel ill longer. Feeling better earlier is an apparent impossibility Hmm

moonshine25 · 11/06/2015 16:49

Sorry valency think our posts crossed! I'm sure everything is ok but I can imagine the dream scared you and put the worry in you.

I very often have very good days to then wake up the next day to nausea again and I think it's normal for our hormones to fluctuate so try not to worry.

Not long till your scan anyway - how exciting!!

mrschatty · 11/06/2015 17:19

valency good days and bad days happen- trust me! Felt fine then last 2 days- especially yesterday felt like the hungover zombie you describe. It's starting to ease now and I'm sure tomorrow I'll be a normal person as this is the pattern I seem to follow!!
Talking of dreams guys what do you think this is all about- 2 nights ago I dream I had a one night stand with a guy I went to school with (not seen in 7/8 years I live 200miles away he wasn't even a boyfriend think we once had a teenage kiss),and he was telling everyone he was the potential father of my child...Then last night dreamed that the exact same guy was flirting with me and obsesses by my bigger boobies!!! What is that all about! Let's hear more crazy dreams!

ValancyJane · 11/06/2015 17:29

Thanks ladies that does help - I know I am probably worrying too much, I just feel so different to yesterday it's really thrown me! I wasn't enjoying the nausea, but at least it felt like a concrete symptom that all was going well.

goodness and mrs at least it's not just me with the dreams. Have had a few odd ones recently to be fair.

Fingers crossed for nausea tomorrow hey!!

Phizpop · 11/06/2015 17:56

I've been quietly sitting back, as nothing interesting to add, nausea is a little better, but then hits in waves. Last night was the first night in ages I didn't want to go to bed at 7.30! It was nice actually having the energy to do something in the eve!

Anyway, had my booking appt today, midwife was lovely and had a good laugh, definitely made me feel more at ease. After walking home the long way to avoid my lovely 95yr old friend who window watches and knows the only reason I would be walking in middle of day out if uniform would be to go to docs, now have the daunting task of reading all the information provided!

She also booked my scan whilst I was there - 10th July! Can't wait! Grin

Anyone else avoiding catching up with distant friends? I phone quite a few friends every couple of months... But the biggest thing in my life at the moment is still secret! Tempted to put off till after scan - will be a busy week!!

Phizpop · 11/06/2015 17:57

Sorry that was long...

Hello to the newbies and fx for those who have extra worries today x

kep1979 · 11/06/2015 18:04

Thanks for all of your support, this is a great group Smile

valancy sorry you are having worries, I had a major freak out the other day when I felt fine with no painful boobs. I have good days and bad days - I am feeling a little better that I feel like crap today so hoping the spotting is just one of those things. I hope you feel sick again very soon Grin

Dreams - mine all seem to be sex based! We haven't done the deed since we found out as we are too scared - last time we abstained and ten did it once and the day after I miscarried - so this time we are both freaked out! But my subconscious is obviously frisky as hell and therefore I am having lots of sex in my dreams - it is all very x rated - and not just with my Dh. A bit off putting when you are in a meeting with someone who the night before you were shagging (in your dream) and it was very fifty shades

Hopefulnewbie · 11/06/2015 18:06

valancy just wanted to say that I've been exactly the same , I had terrible nausea from 5weeks then last week it seemed to vanish overnight (I'm 8+2 now) I get the odd sicky feeling and lightheaded but nothing like I was getting, I convinced myself the worst was happening but on Tuesday I had an early scan and saw the heartbeat.
I asked about the disappearing symptoms and she said early pregnancy is different for everyone, for some it comes and goes, some it's constant and the lucky ones get it for a short period.
Try not to worry and fingers crossed ur one of the lucky ones that skip the sickness!
