I use to run 3 times a week but I'm just walking now, I don't want to push myself too hard. I walk to and from work so 4 miles a day in total, it will have to do!

AlohaMama · 04/06/2015 18:03

Exercise teenie??? I did that once. Then I had two kids and it all went out of the window. Actually with DS I think I did managed to run with the jogger, but DD is not that amenable. Besides which if I ran now I expect i'd just throw up. So in a word. No.

kep1979 · 04/06/2015 18:31

I have no energy to do anything apart from the absolute necessary. I read somewhere that our bodies are doing the equivalent of a full workout (whatever that is) even whilst we are resting, so I take comfort in that :) I am a walker usually and hope to get back to it when i feel better (both from the cold and the nausea). Hoping that i'll feel better after the 12 week mark.

I've had no contact from midwife either - apparently they will make contact between 9 and 10 weeks, seems quite late to me. Also, having had a recent miscarriage, it does seem a bit shit not to have any support from a health professional until you are that far gone.

Having spent most of the day in bed I think i feel marginally better, so hoping i wake ip tomorrow all cured Smile

OTheHugeManatee · 04/06/2015 18:48

Regular runner here normally but also struggling at 7+4. I just don't feel up to it! I'm still on my feet a fair bit and some days doing lots of painting/decorating round the house so comforting myself with that. I'm thinking of going right back to something like week 3 of c25k, or whatever I can manage, just for the sake of getting out and doing something.

moonshine25 · 04/06/2015 19:06

Oh, no energy here either! I'm still managing my morning dog walk but that's about it - and just had my first actual sickness! Really hoping it's just a one off but I think I'm being naive...

Edgar and Beehive, that's rubbish that you haven't even got booking in appointments yet!! Mine is next week at 8 weeks...another friend up here is now 9 weeks and she already has her scan date too. It's so rubbish that every area is so different!!

AlohaMama · 04/06/2015 19:14

I think I'm about 9+2, and i've only just got my booking in apt for 3 weeks time, and that was only because I phoned the midwife myself. All I'd had was a leaflet on screening tests and the midwife's name. She said she'd put my down for an 'early' scan due to uncertainty over dates, but then said it won't be till I get back from holidays (by which time I'll be nearly 13 wks) so not that early.

kep My friend had a mc and then with recent pregnancy her mw did bump her up the queue a bit as she recognised her name. Maybe worth calling them and saying you're feeling concerned/unhappy.

moonshine25 · 04/06/2015 19:22

Yes Kep could you maybe get the phone number for the midwife and give her a call?

Joey0805 · 04/06/2015 19:41

I'm trying to exercise still but I'm not doing loads - I feel too sick in the mornings and I'm too tired in the evenings. Did reformer pilates yesterday and spin today (languishing at the back now though instead of one of the front row keenos).

I'm 9+1 and got my date for booking in appt yesterday. I called them first thing to move it and they told me that was the only appointment for 4 weeks. I am so angry - I told my GP I was pregnant 5 weeks ago and it's taken this long To get the appt and they are showing zero flexibility when they've only given me a week's notice for the appointment!! Thankfully I'm not travelling, "just" in an important meeting which I now need to explain to my boss I'm going to have to miss. Such crappy service. And the people you speak to always seem to think they're doing us a favour giving an appt in the first place, errrr no - this is my RIGHT to care and my TAXES pay for it!!! Aargh rant over!

At least the sun is finally out :)

haquoi123 · 04/06/2015 19:58

I usually do yoga and swing dancing, but because of half term and a cold in behind on exercise. Almost afraid to start up again, but I know now is the time to do it (no nausea yet). My area's pretty good for scans and midwife appointments - sorry to hear a lot of you are having trouble! I'm high risk pregnancy as well because of late miscarriage so I'm having a scan next week and the booking appointment week after. Just got to make it to there! Had a bit of spotting today and a mini freak out (even though I know it's normal)!!

OTheHugeManatee · 04/06/2015 19:59

Are you in London, Joey? That sounds hugely frustrating, services must be very overstretched where you are. I'm out in the sticks so things seem a bit less busy though can you get a GP appt for same day normally? Can you fuck.

Is there anything to be gained by kicking up a fuss? Moving surgeries? In your shoes I'd be hopping mad.

Blimeygirl · 04/06/2015 20:11

Gosh in comparison my midwives have been rather good! Sorry! I rang when I got my BFP and got booking appointment at six weeks and they apologised for the delay as there was a day off due to a clinic being on a bank holiday. Then got my scan letter within a week!

Lookingforadvice123 · 04/06/2015 20:11

impatiently and mrsfaz can I ask where you work, or in what field? Same benefits as me in terms of 6 months full pay (and also both parents can share mat/pat leave) and i didn't realise many other organisations were as generous!

Yokyil · 04/06/2015 20:14

6 months full pay sounds like a dream! 6 weeks of 90% pay them smp kicks in at a whopping £136 per week!!! So I have approx £7k to save for the shortfall in pay to cover mortgage, household bills etc Confused will get there eventually Hmm

Lookingforadvice123 · 04/06/2015 20:15

Oh and another former keen exerciser who's fallen off the wagon here! I was still spinning twice a week up to 8 weeks (but not going for it as much) but after my spotting scare last week I gave myself a break and tbh this week I've been too tired / nauseous! I've booked on for spin on Saturday morning though which will be interesting! Going to do pregnancy yoga as soon as I can and try and replace spin with swimming.

oneconfusedchick · 04/06/2015 20:34

Had my first child in London. I had mixed experiences with midwives. In the beginning I hardly ever saw the same midwife twice got a bit better towards the end though. However in terms of appointments I was usually seen quite quickly or as standard to what I'm getting now in a different part of the country. Overall though I am hoping for a better experience where I am now as my birth experience was not good! Will be interesting to compare the two I have not got my scan letter yet but I have not had my appointment my appointment is tomorrow- one thing that is different is that this time I only have to go to my local doctors to see the midwife whereas in London I had to go to the hospital for nearly all of my appointments

ValancyJane · 04/06/2015 20:45

I'm not normally a huge one for exercise, but do usually walk fifteen minutes into town rather than driving for example - but at the moment I am driving everywhere, I'm just so shattered! Evening nap is now part of my routine.

Looking I was considering pregnancy yoga further down the line, but don't think there's any classes nearby - might end up getting a DVD!

I'm 7 weeks today officially (6+4 realistically) and had an appointment with midwife last week - they gave me it quite quickly here. But, she had to refer me to the midwives in a different area and put the scan through at a different hospital, so far have heard nothing. She said to ring her if I'd not heard anything in two weeks, so we'll see!

Lookingforadvice123 · 04/06/2015 21:00

valancy what makes you think you're realistically less far along, do you know when you ovulated?

I'm officially 9+4 (based on LMP) but based on early scan measurements I'm 9 or 9+1, no idea when I ovulated so assuming it was later than the 14th day although I had regular 28 day cycles! I'm sticking with the LMP date until my 12 week scan because it sounds better Grin

ValancyJane · 04/06/2015 21:12

Looking Yes, I nearly always ovulate on CD17, and was using opks so am pretty darn certain :) I'm using my adjusted date myself, but gave LMP date to the midwife, I'll let them adjust at the 12 week scan if it needs adjusting!

cottonwool4brains · 04/06/2015 21:15

Can you take my name off the list. I am sadly no longer pregnant. I hope you all have healthy and uneventful pregnancies. Xx

Blackandwhitecat3 · 04/06/2015 21:16

Ladies, apart from the 6 months full pay (so jealous - I have 6 weeks) I am with you on all of today's symptoms - pain in the tummy in front of my uterus which must be expanding, insomnia, sick sick sick week 8 is sick week, exhausted but can't sleep, weeing all the time, eating to stop feeling sick...

But is anyone else feeling rage this week?! Clearly my preg hormones are on a roll Smile

And I've been too tired to do any exercise too, although I did manage a little walk this evening. Kep I like the sound of that full workout while resting - makes me feel a lot better!

hope your okay cottonwool.. my thoughts are with youThanks x

Joey0805 · 04/06/2015 21:30

Cottonwool - sorry to hear that.

I am indeed in London and I am indeed hopping mad! In fact I used some pretty colourful words with the receptionist who was so rude (blaming on the pregnancy rage!). I'm trying to be as zen as possible about it all - I am having another private scan next week anyway so even if my NHS scan is really late at least privately everything is on track. But not everyone is fortunate enough to do both and it's a scary enough time without some nasty people not doing their paperwork on time! This is my first pregnancy and there are just so many questions! Thankfully you lot are answering most of them so I don't need to ask so many of them when I do eventually have my midwife appt...

TeenieDeenie · 04/06/2015 21:35

Cotton I'm so sorry. I hope you and your OH are ok and have lots of support in RL. Hugs to you. X

impatientlywaiting · 04/06/2015 21:37

So sorry Cotton.

Looking, I work in Health and Social Care regulation. What about you?
