Wow cheesy such beautiful words :-) you have made me completely change how I am thinking about this pregnancy. Instead of longing for the next stage I am going to treat each day as a blessing, after all I have longed for this moment for long enough. I have a feeling I will think about what you just said quite a few times over the next few days/weeks/ months x

tossedsalads · 27/05/2015 22:52

Oh cheesy! I really wish you all the best for your pregnancy, that's so lovely!

twinsandapenguin · 28/05/2015 01:43

Room for one more? I had my BFP this morning! I think that puts my edd at 17.02.16
We weren't planning on starting to try until next month. We got a bit carried away on holiday, let's just say we will be calling this baby Las Vegas Grin Things have certainly happened quicker than expected.
I am still on maternity leave with dd who is now 11 months old. I am back at work on Monday. What great timing Confused and I have a hen do at the weekend so I need to make my excuses for not drinking!
Pregnancy very similar to first time so far. Symptoms started about 48hrs after dtd which I know is crazy as it was far to early but I was just massively massively bloated, then the tiredness. Then that weird taste in my mouth and a sudden craving for milk. The test just confirmed what I already knew! Boobs aren't too sore yet but operation stop breastfeeding dd starts now.
Great to hear everyone's stories. I look forward to chatting with you allSmile

twinsandapenguin · 28/05/2015 01:46

fucoffee I was so sorry to hear that

Curlywurlies · 28/05/2015 04:32

Hi there, cautiously joining you all. EDD 3/2/16, 36yo, TTC#1, this is 9th cycle of trying including a mc at 5weeks in march. BFP on 23rd may at 10dpo (I felt pregnant!) then a CB digital yesterday at 14dpo said 2-3 (it never said more than 1-2 with my mc). I was feeling much more optimistic than the first time but for the last 24hrs all the symptoms have gone - sore boobs, bloating, funny taste all vanished and I feel utterly normal. Reading your posts trying to enjoy the moment instead of thinking the worst. Whatever happens will happen, I know. For now I will try to enjoy the dream come true.

Raffertys · 28/05/2015 06:25

cheesy that's a lovely post. You are inspirational.

Welcome twins and curly and congrats. curly on the pregnancy board there is a thread for those of us pg after mc so pop over there for some reassurance. It's called positifrickingivity or something like that. Try not to worry - it's bloody hard though isn't it. Flowers

jellypi3 · 28/05/2015 06:53

Welcome new folks. cheesy thanks for the lovely words Hun. It's so true. I've been ttc for just under a year and the pressure felt immense the whole time and now I'm so worried about this baby but trying to keep as positive as possible.

I have had painful boobs from day 1, and this morning for my first wave of nausea.

Cheesypop · 28/05/2015 07:37

Thanks you lovely lot. Morning Brew all round. I got a 'pregnant 1-2' on a clearblue digital this morning which was awesome. It's going in my handbag with me to today to keep me company in everything I do. It's normal to carry your own pee around, right...?

Welcome twins and curly and I'm so sorry to hear about your last pregnancy curly

teaandcake2016 · 28/05/2015 07:37

My main symptoms are that I have gone off food and I am really irritable! Last night I told dp I felt angry (no reason why I did) - he was useless and said I was making excuses and there was no need to be in a mood - which made my blood boil! Any tips on how to deal with feeling annoyed all day?

rallytog1 · 28/05/2015 07:41

Welcome everyone!

I've hardly got any symptoms other than occasional sore boobs, light cramps and being a bit weirdly tearful at times (I cried during Eurovision). No nausea or anything. I remember spending the whole first trimester last time wondering when the sickness would start. It kicked in at 14 weeks. So I'm trying not to worry too much about the absence of symptoms - easier said than done Grin

Enjoy carrying your pee-soaked stick around cheesy!

jellypi3 · 28/05/2015 07:42

No tips tea just remind him your hormones are going haywire right now.

cheesy I got my 1-2 weeks last Wednesday, scared to do another one incase it hasn't gone up (apparently CB are notorious for being shyte). I Carrie around my frer for a few days lol

rallytog1 · 28/05/2015 08:38

This is your first isn't it tea? With our dd, my dh found it really hard to feel connected to the pregnancy or even really believe it was real until we'd had the first scan. And he was a bit grumpy with my complaining and feeling crap. I think it's difficult for ohs when it still feels like it's something that's happening to you and they can't see, feel, hear or touch it. I think they also feel scared that it's a massive change that they literally have no control over.

Once we saw our baby on the scan and she visibly started to grow and move inside me, dh got really excited and is an amazing dad.

Not sure if I have any tips though! There are some books about pregnancy for dads which you could maybe look into too, as they explain what's happening to you in a more 'manly' way!

twinsandapenguin · 28/05/2015 08:48

Tea - I call it the pregnancy rage. A few colleagues suffered on the wrong end of it last pregnancy. We are house hunting at the moment and I am already feeling the rage at unreliable estate agents cancelling appointments at the last minute Angry

twinsandapenguin · 28/05/2015 09:02

My tip would be to embrace the rage, Grin maybe not too much at the poor DP though! has he got any dad friends he can talk to about their experiences? That can be quite helpful. First pregnancy is so hard on both of you I think. It is all very new and scary.

jellypi3 · 28/05/2015 09:05

anyone decided when to tell work yet? i'm just getting the first signs of morning sickness, and my DP wants me to tell my boss, but I am reluctnant until after our 6 week scan (we only have 2 and half weeks to wait until then).

NoMontagues · 28/05/2015 09:27

Congrats to the new BFPs!

cheesy I carried a sample of urine in my handbag all day yesterday (puke emoticon) as I had GP appt at 3pm and had taken sample first thing. I was convinced I'd forget to bring it so I put it in my bag straight away. Then the gp didn't even ask for it! Just noted I'd had 3 positive hpts. Confused

tea same here. My poor DH has been on the receiving end of a few tongue lashings this week. It's as if my usual filter has been switched off and I just say things aloud instead of thinking them.

So far boobs are ok and no sickness. Bad fatigue but mostly just from 6pm-ish. I've fallen asleep on the sofa pretty much every night for the last 10 days Blush

Cheesypop · 28/05/2015 09:30

Ooh I have the rage! Yay I have a symptom! although I'm a grumpy beggar most of the time so maybe it's not all to be blamed on hormones Blush

I'll need to tell a few people at work (and a few other friends/family) straight away as I have been off for treatment and they know about it but generally I am hoping to keep the whole thing as quiet as possible for as long as possible. I feel like everything has been so public already (for example the nurse, doctor and embryologist all in between my legs at the conception Grin) that I want to do what I can to keep it all to ourselves. It's quite a tough one though as I'm usually the first with a round of shots in and on the dance floor so I will need to keep a low profile for a while! And I've been off the booze for a while already so I've used pretty much every excuse in the book...

Cheesypop · 28/05/2015 09:31

Haha I'm glad I'm not the only one obsessed by my pee stick. I keep looking at it and the cats keep licking it Confused

twinsandapenguin · 28/05/2015 09:51

Cheesy- that is gross! Although mine is still sitting on the sofa and dd almost got hold of it , bleurgh.
I will tell work at about 10-11 weeks. My boss is pretty understanding and it is easier than coming up with a lie about why I need time off for the scan.
Not worried about work drink excuses this time, (picking up ds is my excuse!). I was so stressed and anxious last time but totally relaxed so far second time around! Just the hen do to worry about but I have told a couple of close friends and they will cover for me Smile

rallytog1 · 28/05/2015 10:12

I'm holding off telling work too. My team is small and someone else has just announced her pregnancy, so I think I might give my manager a bit of time to stop panicking about that one before I bestow the news upon her!

Luckily I wfh most of the time so it should be easy to hide.

Curlywurlies · 28/05/2015 10:25

You're all keeping me entertained and happily distracted from worrying, thanks!

Currently heading abroad for a wedding which includes a hen party tomorrow and bridesmaid duties. Looking forward to finding creative non-drinking excuses too. Which ones have worked best for you guys?

No pee in my luggage (but have packed emergency pee stick just in case).

Raffertys · 28/05/2015 11:02

You lot make me laugh...carrying around pee sticks...cats that lick said sticks Grin

I'm so glad we have such a nice group and I hope I get to hang around here until the end. I always see the September group pop up on active convos or on the ante-natal club board. I was part of that group with my last mc and it hurts every time to see it, but now I have you guys it's so much easier to deal with.

Anyway, I will tell my boss after our early scan. I don't have a date for that yet but hope to wait until 7 / 8 weeks. She was massively supportive after my MC so will be honest with her as soon as I can.

And also an apology for mentioning MC-associated stuff on here. I know it's not what anyone who is in the early days wants to read. I do try not to mention it but sometimes it's relevant and good to talk. So I hope you don't mind.

Is everyone having a nice day?

teaandcake2016 · 28/05/2015 12:04

Morning all, thanks for your support with my moods, nice to have a bit of reassurance it's normal! Registered with the midwife today, was in and and out in a few minutes! Hope everyone is feeling well today :)

Cheesypop · 28/05/2015 12:05

Ah Raffertys Flowers unfortunately miscarriage is a sad part of pregnancy and something we are all at risk of. I think being aware of it as a possibility but hoping and praying that it's not going to happen this time is all we can do!

tossedsalads · 28/05/2015 12:29

Still a total lack of symptoms here but did a clear blue digital and got 2-3 weeks which is accurate with my dates so am feeling like its really real now!
Trying to eat super healthily as with my previous pregnancies I lived on buttered bagels and chocolate. Currently having a bowl of homemade veg soup and wholemeal cheese roll, it's very tasty. Have bought myself a choc bar for tonight though to console myself with the thought of no wine!!
