Is anyone else having issues sleeping? I keep waking up around 4am every few days, I hope this isn't a sign of things to come otherwise I'll be a zombie by next week.

I did do a sneaky CB digital when I woke up and got a 3+ weeks,so excited that it's moving on was nervous as had no other systems - is it strange that I kinda want to have morning sickness? Weirdo I know

I'm glad you're also struggling to sleep Rose.. I fall asleep 'ok' but have been walking early, and apart from a bit of bloating, no real symptoms.. I'm sure when/if they arrive it'll be frustrating, but I really want to feel different (you can tell I veer between excited and abject fear)..went out to a play last night and a friend bought me a glass of wine.. Cue me pretending to sip it while surreptitiously passing it to OH, then when she nipped to toilet, I poured it down drain and got water instead-ridiculous! Anyway.. I've got a cold and work has been manic.. But with my first pregnancy I continued to do triathlons into 2nd tri.. And only gave up proper training at 37.. And all went well- I got a couple of amazing books about exercise in preg, and never pushed it.. (Gave up surfing though, which was sad.. But obvious)..

surferchic41212 · 06/06/2015 07:03

And Rose congrats on 3+ weeks- I'm hoping to hold out until Monday and test on cb digi...

Cheesypop · 06/06/2015 07:14

Rose I also got 3+ on a digi this morning Smile was relieved it worked since it went out of date in August 2013, but it still seems accurate!

Morning ladies. I am having a bit of a worry about my heart rate! I know that it is meant to increase but mine seems to be doing so at a ridiculous rate. I have a Fitbit that tracks my heart rate and before pg I was usually around the 60bpm of sitting down etc sometimes going up towards 70. The average resting heart beat that it calculates was between 59-61. Right now I am in bed, not having got up yet and it is over 90bpm and the average resting is now heading towards 70 and increasing every day. I have a heart condition that means that my heart can struggle to control it's rate. Are other people experiencing this or do I need to get it checked out?

Cheesypop · 06/06/2015 07:26

night that sounds like a big rise given how early in the pg it is. I'd get that checked out, but try not to worry about it meantime and just don't over do it until you've been seen.

nightandthelight · 06/06/2015 07:31

Thanks cheesy will ring GP on Monday and take it easy this weekend. Have a fun run tomorrow but have already said that I have slightly injured my leg so will be sedately walking it instead :)

Sorry for my freak out, it's just so horrible to be lying in bed with my heart feeling as though I have just returned from a run!

How is everyone else?

purdiepie · 06/06/2015 07:44

Sorry you're worried, Night, I have no advice about heart rates unfortunately, but it's a good idea to get that checked out by your GP.

The inability to sleep becomes unbearable towards the end of pregnancy (heavy bump, excruciating backache, heartburn to make you cry, toilet trips eight times per night) but believe me, it is excellent practice for when the baby comes and you never sleep through the night again Hmm

I spent the night being kicked in the tits by a teething, thrashing tot. Not nice when your nipples already feel like they've been chewed by a rottweiler Hmm

nightandthelight · 06/06/2015 07:47

Thanks Purdie :) are you feeling better today (apart from being kicked in the boobs all night)?

purdiepie · 06/06/2015 07:49

So far so good, Night, but the nausea is stealthily approaching like a Romanian Big Issue seller.

Thanks wild, will do as soon as they open on Monday!

Sorry to hear that the sickness is building Purdie :( At least it suggests bean is growing well! Am trying to tell myself that about my heart beat :)

pretzelpieces · 06/06/2015 07:57

night my heart has been crazy, racing and palpitations. My GP says palpitations are normal so I'm trying not to worry but like I posted here, I've felt like my heart was going to give out and it was scary. Definitely if you've got a condition get it checked out though. Thanks

Also been sleeping rubbish and especially waking up early! Hmm

nightandthelight · 06/06/2015 07:59

Thanks pretzel, sorry to hear that you are experiencing the same! If it continues you might want to get all Rambo (a la Purdie) on their arse as I have read that it continues to get worse up to 32 weeks!

Carltonlives · 06/06/2015 08:02

I would get it checked out night especially as you have a heart condition already. I remember my heart beating very quickly last time though, and it moves up on your chest as your bump grows and for me by the end it felt like my heart was beating in my throat! Quite bizarre.

I'm feeling ok this morning, thankfully. My toddler kept trying to bounce on my stomach this morning in bed though Confused

pretzelpieces · 06/06/2015 08:18

night Oh dear, that's not something I'm looking forward to! Thanks for the info though.

carlton glad you're feeling OK this morning. I'm feeling sick but not horrendous like it has been some days. Smile

rallytog1 · 06/06/2015 08:18

I'd get it checked night - I've got a friend who had the same and they did some tests on her plus a 24 hour ecg just to be on the safe side. They couldn't find anything wrong but it's worth getting checked to be on the safe side.

Rose I've been exactly the same as you sleep-wise. Haven't found any magic remedies sadly, but you have my sympathies Thanks Tbh I think sleeplessness plagued my last pregnancy too - didn't get better but I learned to manage on less sleep, which was good practice for when dd appeared.

jellypi3 · 06/06/2015 08:58

I'm another once struggling with sleep (although having a fat cat on your face all night doesn't help). I'm getting to sleep easily enough but waking up 4 or 5 times in the night. Oh well.

My nausea is here to stay I think. It's not too bad so I feel sorry for those of you suffering but I am getting the odd moment of retching, no vom just yet.

Cheesypop · 06/06/2015 09:04

Oh bloody hell. Excitedly opened my new pregnancy book this morning to read up on everything I am supposed to know, and one of the cats marched over and immediately bit off a corner of it Shock I think he's unhappy about the prospect of a newcomer in the house!

NoMontagues · 06/06/2015 09:24

Hi everyone. I haven't posted in so long the thread dropped off my TIO list so I thought I'd better check in.

6+1 today as far as I know. Mild, mild nausea very rarely and my boobs are still fairly normal. I feel like I'm in a state of suspended animation waiting to feel more pregnant. Sleeping like an absolute log though.

Private scan isn't until 7th July which seems aeons. In ireland you only get one scan as a public patient, at about the 20 week mark. I phoned up for my appointment this week and was given one on 21st Sept! It's absolutely shite for people who can't afford private scans.

Ha ha cheesy your cat sounds like a boss. Our poor little moggy was run over and killed about 6 months ago so we have a cat-shaped hole in our house right now Sad

NoMontagues · 06/06/2015 09:45

Just caught up with thread. Isla I have a 13 year age gap between DD and DS, not as epic as yours but even still it was like having a first pregnancy all over again. It was great.

I don't know how she's going to react to finding out there's another baby on the way. I'm definitely not confident to tell her yet. She's going away to camp on the 26th June for 3 weeks so maybe after that.

Rufus200 · 06/06/2015 09:49

I'm being woken up being desperate for a wee at least twice a night! Bit nauseous this morning which I am so grateful for, made myself a bacon sandwich and then threw it in the bin after the 1st bite.

Cheesy I also have 3 chewers, my uni books all had chewed corners but they prefer plastic far more! Not sure how I got 3 unrelated cats that all have an obsession with eating carrier bags. The worst chewer (my fav fur baby who I will forgive anything) has a very expensive habit of chewing phone charger and earphones!

Marsaday · 06/06/2015 10:38

My Saturday morning looks like this. New toddler game- laps of house with tea towel on head. He keeps crying when it falls off. Hmm
