Hi all, just checking in. Can't believe how busy the thread has become. Welcome to all new BFPs!

5 + 3 today, I think. I'm still relatively symptom free but I'm trying not to let it bother me. brummie thanks for your post above, I'm going to try to resist po any more sticks.

MemphisBella · 01/06/2015 20:02

Hello everyone!

Managed to smash my phone to smithereens, so apologies that I've been a bit quiet. I'm not normally.

Brummie - think you and I might be near each other, I'm West Mids too.

Felt like death in school today, everyone was drinking coffee and making me one too (which I'm normally so grateful for) and I kept having to surreptitiously pour mine down the sink - will be taking peppermint teabags in tomorrow! Hope no one twigs.

Also kept getting asked by a colleague to climb on things to help her with a display - "Ooh Bella, just stand up here and hold this string for me" etc - I wanted to shriek "No, I bloody can't!" but thought it might give the game away.

I'm going away with some family in July when I'll be 9 weeks - we're going to have a private early scan the day before we go, as there's no way we'll get through the week without them noticing I'm not drinking. FX everything is OK, I REALLY hate the thought of telling people so early but there's no getting away from it. Sad

MIL has a mouth like a foghorn too, so even sworn to secrecy I predict 3 minutes until the world knows. Gah. We didn't tell her until 16 weeks last time for that exact reason!

Brummiegirl15 · 01/06/2015 20:05

I know it's soooo hard Montagues but all they really do is look for the presence of hcg and aren't as reliable with the week stuff. No point distressing yourself if it doesn't do what you want.

A line is a line is a line!

Bloody tough though!! But honestly no symptoms doesn't mean anything. You are only 5+3 you've got loads of time to feel as absolutely rough as houses.

In a weeks time you could be getting very friendly with the bathroom floor and you'll miss the no symptoms Grin

Give it time!

Also I feel rough because I'm on progesterone so it's ramped everything up. So for me a really mild symptom feels a lot worse because my hormone level is increased

Brummiegirl15 · 01/06/2015 20:07

Ooh hello Memphisbella I am indeed West Mids! Well Worcestershire now - not far from M42, but was Birmingham.

I'm under care of Worcestershire Royal

MemphisBella · 01/06/2015 20:09

Waves back at Memphis - Birmingham Women's here!

How exciting! Grin

MemphisBella · 01/06/2015 20:13

I waved at myself. I'm so tired. Confused

Obviously that should have been to Brummie!

Can I blame baby brain already?

Raffertys · 01/06/2015 20:24

Memphis Grin

I'm curious about different symptoms...what are you guys experiencing at the moment? Currently my only persistent one is sore boobs (very sore - wincing when I take off my bra, having to hold on to them when I walk down stairs...etc). Nausea comes and goes but is infrequent. Sickness didn't start until 7 weeks with DS.

My only other odd-ish symptom is an apparent inability to stay warm in the evenings. I've just had to run myself a bath and jump in when it was half full just to warm up; a blanket on the sofa and heating whacked up DH going mental at that just wouldn't cut it.

What symptoms are you guys enjoying at this stage? Grin

Raffertys · 01/06/2015 20:28

Oh and not forgetting the irrational, apoplectic rage. DH went out and bought us a lovely pie for dinner the other night. He cooked it all, plated it up and then I had a go at him for pouring my gravy in a puddle in the middle of my plate instead of on my pie. Fuck's sake. Genuinely ashamed of that one...cue frantic apologies from me to him.

jellypi3 · 01/06/2015 20:31

Both my boobs have been tender since day 1, too painful to touch. However my main symptom is tiredness. I'm literally struggling to keep my eyes open at work, yawning every 10 mins. But 3:00pm I'm dead, and I've been in bed and asleep by 8:30-9:00. I've never been so tired in my life.

Brummiegirl15 · 01/06/2015 20:34

Ahhh I was Birmingham Women's for my earlier pregnancies. Used to live in city centre and I miss it...

Rafferty I've defo got achy tingly boobs. I don't even have to touch them - I can feel them!!

Feel sick but it comes in waves so don't always feel like that.

I'm cold too. Currently sat under a blanket and the heating is on.

I'm also having vivid crazy bonkers dreams. When I did my tests, I actually got BFN's to start with - tested too early. But it was the crazy bonkers vivid dreams that I started having and I knew I was pregnant.

My legs also ache, but that's the progesterone slowing my circulation down.

Brummiegirl15 · 01/06/2015 20:34

Oh yes and I am soooo tired!!!

nightandthelight · 01/06/2015 20:37

Exhausted, sore boobs and currently wrapped in a blanket with two cats :)

Raffertys · 01/06/2015 20:49

brummie - progesterone...is that what makes us Oregon feel light headed too? I mean as a result of the crappier circulation?

Raffertys · 01/06/2015 20:50

And I am jealous of those with cats. I have three guinea pigs and they don't appear to give two shites that I'm pregnant Envy

purdiepie · 01/06/2015 21:01

Cats are evil deep down. Troo fact.

Brummiegirl15 · 01/06/2015 21:05

Raf progesterone relaxes smooth muscles, so for example digestive tract - so everything slows down it makes you bloated and also fart Grin when it's slowed down, the blood has to work harder to get from the feet as the arteries are smaller which is why legs ache

However the reason you feel lightheaded is that blood is being sent to uterus to nourish baby and unless you are a hooked up to a bag of the red stuff it's gotta come from somewhere... So blood in the body is diverted to uterus and so from your head makes you feel lightheaded

Raffertys · 01/06/2015 21:45

Ah, I see. Thanks brum!

birdbrain21 · 01/06/2015 21:46

How annoying my appointment got cancelled today and I can't get one for another week now! I already made this one over a week ago. Really not happy as I still don't know how many weeks I am now, and the sooner I can get a gp appointment the sooner I can get my booking in appointment with a midwife and start to realise this is real.
I did confirm with work today that I would carry on next year (teacher) I wanted to tell them now and then when I tell them I'm pg after the 12 week scan if necessary I can pretend I didn't know this early if they get annoyed. I have taken over from someone who just went on maternity leave though so really I'm doing them a favour by leaving just when she's due to come back...

Brummiegirl15 · 01/06/2015 21:50

I have to tell work this week - really hate telling them so early but because I need time for scans etc and appointments I have to tell them.

Admittedly they've been amazing and really been supportive, but just feel like no privacy

NoMontagues · 01/06/2015 21:53

Well I have got pretty bad tiredness, severe bloat and moderate rage Grin so I should feel encouraged.

Just no nausea or sore boobs, yet.

birdbrain21 · 01/06/2015 22:09

Brummie I'd go mad if I had to say so early, last time I ended up telling them at 10 weeks because chicken pox and slap cheek went round school and I didn't know if I was immune but my line manager kept the secret quite well and only told a few people Hmm and I didn't tell other colleagues till 20 week scan! This time my line manager is man so hope I don't need to tell him early I'd find it a bit awkward want him to just figure it out when I get bigger

MemphisBella · 01/06/2015 22:24

We've got a fair few teachers here then!

Brummiegirl15 · 01/06/2015 22:41

It's not ideal, but I was off sick for so long with mc's it simply couldn't be hidden from my immediate team. But my work were amazing. Full sick pay (I had 1 wk for mc 1, 2 wks for mc 2 and 4 weeks for mc 3 plus 2 wks at half days) and they paid for me to have counselling. 12 sessions at £70 each!!!!

They've been amazing and I'm v v lucky so it'll not be an issue, but still feel like I have no privacy. But I guess that's a small price to pay for lots of support

Boobear1983 · 02/06/2015 05:57

Wow brummie sounds like you have a good employer. I have a very physical job and work shifts but i don't want to tell them until after the first scan. That being said I'm already knackered and running on about 4-5 hours sleep so I'll have to see how i go. I've never slept well on shifts at the best of times so I'm not sure how long I'll keep it up. My only symptoms are severe fatigue but not being able to sleep and very sore boobs! First day of last af was 1st may so techically I'd be 4 weeks, but in reality i think i conceived around 12th may

Raffertys · 02/06/2015 06:30

My boss was immensely supportive after my MC. I managed to hide it from my immediate team...I think. Although there's always one nosey cunt who likes to fish for gossip; she was swiftly put back in her box Grin

I'm going to tell her after my 8 weeks scan this time. My company is very flexible so if I say I need to work from home for a day or start late / leave early, no one bats an eyelid. Thankfully.

Anyone else got absolutely shite weather today? and a child to entertain
