Roll up roll up, come and join me clutching your BFP and wondering exactly what you've let yourself in for x

Night, how did you wangle an early scan?!

chintaria, my cats are around 3ish years old. I almost got rid of them when the baby came as they were so needy and upset. Pets become rather tedious when you need to devote all your time to a baby.

nightandthelight · 01/06/2015 08:35

I am paying for it Purdie! Off to Spain at the start of July and don't want to leave the country without knowing that everything is progressing ok :)

Feels so weird that I won't see a medical professional for 3 weeks...

purdiepie · 01/06/2015 08:38

I know. My scan is 24th when I'm almost 8wks but I'll be forcing my gp to give me an earlier one when I see him on Friday. I'm high risk for mc so I'm not leaving the surgery until he agrees to a scan at 6+3 or summat.

nightandthelight · 01/06/2015 08:41

I have no doubt that you will be very persuasive! The receptionist wouldn't even let me see my GP. Maybe I should start mentioning my heart condition Grin

purdiepie · 01/06/2015 08:42

It must be nice to have a heart Grin

i'm trying to get my appointment pushed back, it was meant to be the 15th June, then they changed it to the 8th (a week...eek) but i'm trying to push it back to the 15th, because i'll only be 6+2 on 8th

GoulashSoup · 01/06/2015 08:54

Night have you been running/ training recently, if so then I'd run but not be worried about pushing myself for a pb. If it is more of a race for life type event and you don't normally run I would go and enjoy the atmosphere but gently jog/walk and claim a dodgy tum overnight. Good luck Star

jellypi3 · 01/06/2015 08:56

Yeah night as above, you can generally keep the same level of fitness and previously for the first 12 weeks, so if you are used to running 5k then carry on doing so, but if you can only normally manage 3k without struggling then stick to that. I'm hoping to start swimming soon!

nightandthelight · 01/06/2015 08:57

Thanks goulash I do run twice a week but am concerned by how hot it will be on Sunday as have heard you don't want to overheat. It's a fun run so think I will take your advice and walk it :)

GoulashSoup · 01/06/2015 08:59

And no appointments here for aaaaages. Doctor won't see you, you self refer to the midwife for a booking apt at 8-10weeks. She then refers you for your scan and if you are lucky they fit you in the 11-14 week window for the nuchal fold window. Got to sit tight till mw on the 23rd and try to resist peeing on things.

Lamaitresse · 01/06/2015 09:01

Will be interesting to see how ours react purdie. We had a cat when I was pg with dd, but came home one night heavily pg to find she'd been run over outside our house Sad

Exciting talking about early scans - have just booked mine for 15th so should be almost 7 weeks by then. Did another test this morning and the test line is almost as dark as the control line Grin Anyone else still testing or is it just me obsessing like a nutter

Lamaitresse · 01/06/2015 09:02

Night think walking it is a brilliant plan - can you pretend you've pulled a muscle or something, but that you still want to do it? If you're used to running then it'll probably be okay, but best to err on the side of caution imo Smile

nightandthelight · 01/06/2015 09:06

Am going to go with having been on a training run and unfortunately twisted my knee. Ok to walk on but running is very painful Grin

Lamaitresse · 01/06/2015 09:09

Great plan Grin

jellypi3 · 01/06/2015 09:12

chin sorry to hear about your cat :( my two are indoor cats, I couldn't imagine the fear i'd have letting them out and not knowing if they would come home. One of them is pretty independant, he tends to like to play but isn't massive for cuddles (except at 4:00am), but the other one is like a child, she is always begging for attention and following me around. I think she will struggle the most with a baby!

I also stopped doing tests after about 8 or so tests lol, once I got 3+ weeks on a digi I stopped. I think if I have any cramps or spotting i'll maybe pee on an IC but that's it, trying to not do any more from now onwards

Lamaitresse · 01/06/2015 09:21

Wish we could get cheaper digi's here jelly - they are around 20 euros Shock so I refuse to buy one. I have ic's left so thought I may as well use them Blush
Your cats sound lovely! Mine are little monkeys - they desperately need to get out the house as they are going crazy and jumping on everything and breaking things. This morning they knocked my late granddad's etched glass bowl off the sideboard so am a bit sad. They're having the snip in two weeks, so can go out after that - we live in the middle of the countryside so lots of farmers fields and woody areas for them to explore. Was so shocked when our last cat was killed, the car must have been going really fast down our little road Sad

Lamaitresse · 01/06/2015 09:22

PS I agree re fear - already ds is clutching them to him and saying he doesn't want them to go out Sad I can't keep them in though, they would go mad!

jellypi3 · 01/06/2015 09:26

Awww, my two are pedigree cats and it was actually in their contract when I got them not to let them out. I live near a busy road and would worry too much about them, and to be fair they are really chilled out indoors. They do go in the garden but one of them hates grass haha!!

Lamaitresse · 01/06/2015 09:30

I was wondering if they were Smile I think special breed cats can be much calmer and quieter - we had siamese cats when I was younger, and they never went out. These two we have now are rescue moggies, so are rather wild! Grin re grass-hating cat - what does it do?! Have you seen the video on youtube of cats freaking out over banana's? Very amusing Grin

pretzelpieces · 01/06/2015 09:37

I've just had a bit of a wail over on JSing grads because my nausea went away completely overnight (but is back a little bit now) and I'm so scared I'll miscarry.

Anyway they reassured me and said symptoms come and go and it doesn't necessarily mean anything wrong. So I thought I'd pass that on (and try to get it into my thick worried brain).

Lamaitresse · 01/06/2015 10:41

If it's any help pretzel with both my successful pregnancies my nausea almost completely disappeared for a day or two (and then came back with a vengeance!) so try not to worry Smile

jellypi3 · 01/06/2015 10:43

Aww pret your bound to be worried I know I am but I'm trying to stay calm.

chin one is a Maine coon (the 7kg one!) and one is a ragdoll :) she just doesn't like stepping on grass, and yeh the banana vid is hilarious

Lamaitresse · 01/06/2015 10:46

Maine coons & ragdolls are gorgeous, you lucky thing Smile

pretzelpieces · 01/06/2015 10:50

Thanks chin and jelly you lovely lot
