Flowers to Parsnip. Look after yourself.

Star to Manatee and Brickie.

Also, I just had a proper scare. Was sitting on the sofa reading books to DD (who was on my lap) when I felt a gush of liquid. Jumped up, expecting to find blood, only to discover DD had weed on me.

Relieved but also revolted!

TeenieDeenie · 29/05/2015 12:53

Oyster Thank you, it was a hard, especially 6 days before Christmas when that's supposed to be such a happy time of year! Just got to focus on this pregnancy now... I'm due 29th Jan, not sure if I'll come back to work after Christmas or not. I guess if I'm feeling ok there's no reason not to, but like the idea of coming off at Christmas and that's me on mat leave. Realistically though I prob won't have little one til Feb so maybe a good idea to come back even for a week or two.

crumble74 · 29/05/2015 13:26

Thanks for updating the stats teenie!
Congrats on the great scans brickie & manatee! Celebratory Frankfurters all round! Wink

mslightyear · 29/05/2015 13:26

Hiya! Can I join here please?

I'm lightyear and have an edd of 6th Jan! This is dc#2 for me!!! I'm 8+2 today of what has actually been the longest few weeks ever!!!!!

Lookingforadvice123 · 29/05/2015 13:29

Great news brickie and manatee!

brickie I was measuring smaller too, 8+1 rather than 8+3, annoying as it's going slowly enough as it is without time starting to go backwards! But although it depends when you ovulated and implanted, I've also read that you should base where you are on LMP up until the 12 week scan, when they will give you a proper date. So I would just stick to your LMP until then!

I think I'm going to pay for another scan at around 10 weeks, it's only £40! Having one on Monday at the hospital which I was booked into when we thought I was having a mc, so at least I get to (hopefully) see bean again then!

Lilliana · 29/05/2015 13:35

Can I be added to the stats please?
35, 1 mc, 1 DD, due ?! sometime in the middle of Jan! North Devon

Thanks for updating it - clever way of doing a stats list

ValancyJane · 29/05/2015 13:41

Yay brickie and manatee that's fab news from both of you :)

Edgar I think that's sensible to get over it before getting pregnant - I possibly should have done that but sort of figured I'd just have to get on with it when pregnant! Today they didn't need any blood, so I feel as though I've gotten away with it. But definitely next time. Apparently when I was tiny I got really upset when my Mum told me she'd given blood and wanted her to go back and get them to put it back in!! So it's a rather established phobia of mine!

goodness I'm actually much worse with things being injected in than blood tests. I'm not delighted about blood tests (though haven't had one in quite a few years now), but although it makes me feel anxious I feel as though I can cope with it. Vaccinations though are a whole different ball game, and I have no idea why! It's very bizarre. But glad it's not just me, we can virtual handhold!!

Good advice though, thanks both (I'll try to keep it in mind and not cry - but I promise nothing!)

Just had first appointment with the midwife, to be honest nothing I hadn't already learnt from reading online. She said I'd probably have to go through it all again as I'm going to a different area (technically) for the hospital, so I'll probably have to go through it with another midwife. And my scans are going to be at a different hospital. She assures me that the NHS won't get confused by all these different places, I am slightly less convinced! But the most exciting piece of news was that she says it's fine to dye my hair... Thank god because my roots look bloody horrendous!!!

kep1979 · 29/05/2015 13:41

Hi all, just a quick check-in. Great news for those having good scans, and thinking of those who have had sad news.

I am still on hols - 6+6 which is further than I got last time. Still nowhere near relaxed as I wish I was, but staying positive. Going to book scan when I'm back for hopefully next Thursday.

Not sure how I'm going to hide it at work though; am constantly nauseous, and my belly has definitely pooched out, and can't suck it in any more. May have to buy some new work trousers else I'll be suffering!

Lilliana · 29/05/2015 13:52

I'm another one the hates needles. Vaccines are def the worst but often they can't get blood out of me - I've had both arms and hands used in the past and still nothing so that's not fun either. Also I'm rh- so have to have massive bum injections for that too on top of regular bloods :( :(

EdgarAllenPoe · 29/05/2015 13:56

I think some people at work may have guessed. They often have greggs sausage rolls on a Friday afternoon, and I never do. I went wild and had half of one today. Outrageous!

Blackandwhitecat3 · 29/05/2015 13:59

Teenie I'm Cat on the stats, thanks.

Yay for your heartbeat Manatee!

Juniper your post made me chuckle Smile

Blueberry is clearly doing lots more growing again today, I am exhausted and can feel a nap coming on. Not quite sure how on earth I'm going to manage next week back at work.

Note to self: do not read a book where the main character vomits in the first chapter.

BeeMyBaby · 29/05/2015 14:01

Juniper that made me laugh, wee is much better :)

I'm trying to follow my own advice about not worrying about brown spotting but just started before lunch, I think I will spend the rest of the day at work running to the loo every 10 mins to check.

moonshine25 · 29/05/2015 14:41

Thanks Teenie! Loving the spreadsheet - can you update mine please with the following -

No DC, no MC, 28 (almost!), in scans booked yet and I live in Scotland!

Just been out for lunch with the girls and had such a long cuddle with a 10 week old - who promptly fell asleep on me for the whole of lunch. Apparently I have the magic touch - although I hope it still works on my own children!

Congrats on all the scans, how exciting! I feel like time has stopped still waiting till 12 weeks - I just want it to fly by!!!

TeenieDeenie · 29/05/2015 14:42

I've been through the thread and think that's us up to date now. Again if anything needs added or taken off, just let me know.

moonshine25 · 29/05/2015 15:07

Oh yes please mrschatty! Let us know if they work - I'm struggling at the moment - just constant feeling of nausea!

Lilliana · 29/05/2015 15:08

Thanks teenie

Hope it's nothing and stops soon bee

goodnessgraciousgouda · 29/05/2015 15:56

Liliana - I'm also a negative blood type.

What's with the injections in the arse then??? I thought they only gave you a shot of antigens (or whatever the fuck they're called) if you had bleeding (due to the potential risk of bloods mixing) and after the birth if the baby tests rh positive. Also, I am like you, and often gp's take an awfully long time to get blood from me, as I am so faint, which makes it more difficult. That's why I recommend phelobotmists so strongly. They could get blood from a stone.

mrschatty · 29/05/2015 15:59

Surprisingly I'm feeling ok with these bands on!! Definitely better than earlier.. I'll persevere xx

CubanoHabana · 29/05/2015 16:09

teenie can you amen my stats please, I have 1ds, bump will be number 2 and early scan of 6th June. Thanks!

impatiently I'll be going to the rvi this time , last time it was north Durham (Dryden) and the care for birth was fantastic but after care was horrendous and when we first got there it was bad until the shift change. Will you be at the QE?

CubanoHabana · 29/05/2015 16:12

GOUDA I'm also rhesus negative, had to have injection (anti -D) at 28 weeks (I think)and then after birth. I also had one at 10 weeks due to bleeding. But they did mine in arm. Can't remember the one at birth but the others were agony (sorry, but rather you were warned) Sad

MissMartin1992 · 29/05/2015 16:14
