Great news looking I'm so pleased for you.

Grin oyster sounds very staisfying!

Brickie what are they not wanting you to do? I'm currently still lugging gymnastics equipment around etc although subtly trying to let my TA and kids do most of it now.

juniper I do PPA cover at the moment and love it but due to big changes there is a large possibility that they'll need me in a job share class teacher role next year. Tbh I'd rather stay in my present role and fx being pg will help keep me here until I go off!!

brickiemum2 · 28/05/2015 17:03

lilliana just any heavy lifting or going up ladders really...I do have a history of recurrent mc so I need to be super careful.
Glad it was good news looking
Fingers crossed for you parsnip let us know how you get on.

Yay blu and looking great news
Hope everything is ok parsnip
And Flowers to all those of you who have had bad news
And hi newcomers

I told work because I have to lift heavy stuff I have only been there 6 weeks so I got pregnant the week before I started oooops, but my manager was very excited, and jumped over her desk to give me a hug, and asks me every day how I am Grin
I also have the runs, had them last time to, so much fun!
Not having an early scan so just need to wait it out. By this time with DD I was on my 3rd scan Grin so feels very strange this time

waitingforwombat · 28/05/2015 17:25

All good news! Saw a heart beat, but baby smaller than expected - dated 5+6, whereas from my ovulation date I think I am 6+6 (& if 5+6 had bfp at less than 3 weeks preg!). Anyone know accuracy scans this early?

mappemonde · 28/05/2015 17:43

I think they go off the 12 week scan for dates in the end wombat - my mw said to stick to lmp dates rather than early scan dates at the mo.

I've been lurking for a while as had a scary week due to issues picked up at my early scan. Thankfully my rescan yesterday showed them to have resolved and a healthy 7 week bean in the right place, heart beating - so am feeling a bit more relaxed.

Sorry to those with sad news and worrying times.

crumble74 · 28/05/2015 17:49

parsnip I'm sorry to hear what you're going through! Such a difficult few weeks. Glad you're getting a scan asap & hope it's good news.

blue, looking, wombat & mappe Glad your scans went well.

So knackered today....zzzz

goodnessgraciousgouda · 28/05/2015 17:59

wow I'm super jealous of everyone with their early scans!! I'm nearly at 8 weeks and still have ages left before I can get my first scan done!!!

It's so frustrating waiting for the bloody health care people to get back to us. We can't do anything!! I have to get my bloods re done in two weeks and I'm buggered if I'm forking out another 100 euros for it when I don't even want them done anyway!

Everyone always says that pregnancy goes so fast, but I have to call bullshit. May feels like it's been one of the longest months of my life!!!

parsnipbob · 28/05/2015 18:16

Update: had the scan and we did see a tiny something measuring 1.5 mm which she suspected was the bean, but as it was too small to say with 100% certainty I have had blood tests and will have more on Saturday.

She said it was totally expected not to see anything on scan at 5 weeks. Uterus is thickening which is a good sign.

Feel in limbo and not great but I guess no news is good news.

mrschatty · 28/05/2015 18:17

martin thanks for this ??I'm in manchester area too....I'm still in 2 minds about early scan x

Lilliana · 28/05/2015 18:20

wombat my mw dates would mean I had a Bfp at 3 weeks. someone asked if an early BFP meant twins Shock having a bit of a panic now!
I always thought scans were supposed to be quite accurate bit don't know if that's right or not.

OTheHugeManatee · 28/05/2015 18:23

I've had my fingers crossed for you parsnip! Hope the blood test comes back with a roaring hCG result Smile

Lookingforadvice123 · 28/05/2015 18:30

parsnip Flowers

gouda agree! Despite the happiness at being pregnant (which lasted for about 3 days before anxiety took over) May has been the longest and in a way one of the worst months in a long time. I'm so grateful to be pregnant but mentally and emotionally it's been tough, and that was before this recent drama. Unfortunately my 12 week scan isn't until the end of June so I'll be wishing that month away too.

crumble74 · 28/05/2015 18:31

parsnip i know it's hard when it's not a definitive outcome but I would take the results of the scan as encouraging! Good luck with the blood tests.

impatientlywaiting · 28/05/2015 19:06

It is frustrating still having uncertainty Parsnip, very much hoping that your bloods give you a good reading. How are the cramps and bleeding now?

OrangeBeehive · 28/05/2015 19:06

It's been an eventful day on the thread....so sorry to everyone who is struggling including Looking and Parsnip and congrats to everyone who has had successful scans.

Had midwife booking in today, it was pretty underwhelming. I was hoping for some kind of sign that the baby is definitely there but nothing! Just bloods, urine, blood pressure, BMI chat etc. But she was very nice. It's going to be a long wait until the scan...the next four weeks are going to creep by!

BlueEspoir · 28/05/2015 19:17

Impatient I've gone from 8 weeks back to 6+2. It feels a bit strange - I will have to read the week 7 update of my pregnancy apps again next week! And maybe I'll end up working past Christmas after all!

parsnipbob · 28/05/2015 20:51

Thanks everyone. Not much I can do but wait. She said she was fairly certain it was just too early. The bleeding and pain have stopped so I hope that's a good sign.

My temps were also still up this morning (I let myself check once every few days) and they were still up so that's also somewhat reassuring.

Blackandwhitecat3 · 28/05/2015 20:54

Wombat early scans are notoriously inaccurate with CRL/dating. My scan last Thursday put me at 5+4 when I was 6+3 and I know exactly when fertilisation took place as I had IVF! Tuesday this week I had my scan at the clinic and they measured me at 7 weeks (so spot on for 7+1). My advice is not to worry. Your bean is so small at this stage the error margin is huge. They'll be much more accurate at 12 weeks.

Looking glad your scan turned out ok - I cried too at my reassurance scan when I saw the heartbeat Smile

Parsnip I'm hoping yours is a false alarm, thinking of you.

Pleased to hear so many bosses have been so supportive and happy to hear pregnancy news. Dreading telling mine as he's a total misogynist, so not in any rush to tell!

MissMartin1992 · 28/05/2015 21:18

mrschatty that's a good price isn't it Grin .. me too i kinda wanna but dp just wants to wait until 12week scan.. and spend that money on the baby instead

MissMartin1992 · 28/05/2015 21:21

hope everything is okay parsnip keep positive Thanks x

Tonicandgin · 28/05/2015 22:02

Looks like I'm joining the group eating stodgy food.. Thought I'd managed to avoid it this time it sadly not. Stomach turned overwhilst eating veg tonight and ended up having a pizza afterwards as I couldn't eat my meal. Bloody hell..

Lost my baby weight pretty easily last time but I was enormous by 9 mths, big bump only - picture a weeble. I had lots of comments of 'you'll never go to your due date' (I ended up a week over). Was hoping to avoid similar but seeing as I can't stomach healthy food now and my jeans no longer do up (I'm 7 WEEKS). Madness.. Shock

Tell me I'm not the only one with a rapidly expanding middle??

TeenieDeenie · 28/05/2015 22:05

Parsnip positive thoughts and fingers firmly crossed for you hun.

I feel different tonight, usually I'm quite uncomfortable by this time with the amount of bloating I've been having but tonight not so much... Really hoping it's maybe just the food choices I've made today and not that something is wrong...

Oysterbabe · 28/05/2015 23:07

Teenie I'm sure that's nothing to worry about. As far as I can tell symptoms, or lack thereof, vary from day to day. I know it's hard not to worry.

Anyone else failing to not get overexcited? As much as I'm trying to keep my feet on the ground I keep making plans in my head. We've chosen names. (To be fair we were halfway there before conception. DH has been compiling a spreadsheet of potential names long before we started ttc)

Chip86 · 29/05/2015 00:34

Hope it continues to be positive parsnip

Oysterbabe wow a name spreadsheet sounds amazing. Last time we were all prepared with a boys and a girls name, but someone has pinched our boys choice in the mean time, so we have changed it,and we are happy, but, can't agree on a girls name, and it's stressing me. And DH sister is 4 months pregnant and I'm hoping it's a girl because DH told her our boys name, and I don't want to have to start thinking of another boys name as well as a girls name.
Sorry that was long Smile

parsnipbob · 29/05/2015 05:34

Thanks for all your kind wishes everyone. Bright red bleeding this morning and lots of it so I think it's all over.

I wish you all the best with your pregnancies and thanks for putting up with my POAS addiction x
