Try not to panic - I know loads of women who spot through healthy pregnancies. It doesn't necessarily mean anything bad. How far along are you?

Rollermum · 20/05/2015 07:20

Thanks for new thread Brickie!

Welcome and congrats to Melon and anyone I might have missed.

b&w hope all is well and your GP can offer reassurance.

I'm off to the Dr this morning to see about getting my thyroid levels checked early (am hypo). Really nervous as I had a fight on my hands last time and no one checked my bloods for weeks... Also I have a sore throat and a clingy toddler so will be pleased to go to bed today. Too early to say that I think! Grin

Blackandwhitecat3 · 20/05/2015 07:32

I'm 6+2. I have some mild cramps now too Sad

Tonicandgin · 20/05/2015 07:34

Good luck with docs Rollermum, hope they're on the ball this time.

Anyone else having weird dreams? I'm not sure if it's because I feel sick in my sleep but wake up feeling dreadful after some stressful dreams.

Dreamed my ex died last night, I wasn't massively upset but his dad kept shouting 'f* off' through the eulogy he was reading. Weird..

coffeenut · 20/05/2015 07:37

Def speak to your GP b&w - you may be able to get an early scan at an EPU depending on where you are (and I think you can self refer if need be). I think that's what carrot did (although I hasten to add that I think she had a lot of bleeding by then - please try not to panic!).

coffeenut · 20/05/2015 07:38

fingers crossed for an early scan for you melon!

goodnessgraciousgouda · 20/05/2015 07:46

On the nausea front, I think most of it depends on you specifically. I've seen lots of people singing the praises of ginger, but the thought of ginger - other than gingernut biscuits which don't exist here - make my stomach turn. Although apparently it works for lots of others.

I am hoping that today is better than yesterday.

Has anyone else noticed their nails growing faster? Mine are definitely growing quicker, and are much stronger than usual. Unfortunately my leg hair seems to be in the same boat...

brickiemum2 · 20/05/2015 08:10

Fx b&w

There's something I've been mulling over on the food front this morning...I'd rare steak, salami, chorizo and pepperoni pose a slight but serious health risk WHY am I allowing my kids (8&5) to consume them? I would never think "oh, don't have a salami wrap as it might contain parasites that damage your brain" and it's not like I care for them less than the potentially developing baby inside me. How odd. I've not come to a conclusion on it yet.

Gosh you lot have been busy!

Another one here with only mild symptoms (6+4). No actual vomming, though I get queasy at random times and had to abandon my smoothie this morning because the texture gave me the boak.

I find lemon and ginger herb tea is good for the 'mouthful of iron filings' thing. I like the Clipper one and it's good for about 3 cups. Other than that it's just a strange yearning for Herta frankfurters and tomato juice Confused

Re the forbidden foods, I'm a bit meh. If I decide I fancy a pink steak at some point (I don't like them bleu) I'll probably have it. No caffeine or alcohol is fine but when it's just a one in tiny chance of a bug I'm less exercised by it.

All this posted from a plane awaiting takeoff. Hope the bean doesn't mind flying! I've got four nights in Greece now, a mixture of work and fun. Not sure what I'm going to say to skip the booze - antibiotics perhaps. Also does anyone know if there are problems with getting massaged if you're pg? I can't imagine so but just checking.

OTheHugeManatee · 20/05/2015 08:24

brickie IMO it's about acceptable risk. Unless we're going to be those slightly weird parents who try and eliminate absolutely all risks from DC's lives from conception till they leave home aged 40 you assess the risk versus the desirability of doing something and take responsibility for the decision. I suspect that with an unborn baby it's such a vulnerable time we all get more anxious and sensitive to risk so want to take more precautions than maybe we might with an older child.

waitingforwombat · 20/05/2015 09:05

Ugh, feeling bloated and exhausted this morning. Also got that horrid "heavy" feeling in abdomen/back/thighs that I get before af. Trying not to worry as could just be things stretching, but its all just a bit stressful isn't it?? Just want to curl up on sofa and eat junk in a bit of a pmt like way. Lots of cbeebies for dd1 today I suspect (though dragging myself off sofa and doing something would probably distract me and be much better all round!!)

crumble74 · 20/05/2015 09:06

Thanks for the new thread brickiemum - 3 pages in already!

Thanks for updating the stats littlebbunny

blackandwhite I would also get yourself checked out, just to be sure.

Nothing new here, waiting for early scan in 7 days! Absolutely zero boob pain, which perturbs me.

parsnipbob · 20/05/2015 09:08

Crumble my boobs don't really hurt either other than when pressed.

No symptoms at all really otherwise. Feel a bit tired but might just be lack of sleep. Feel a bit sick but not sure if it's pregnancy related.

TMI but anyone else get loose bowels? I thought you were meant to get constipated in early pregnancy and I'm having the opposite problem!

CharChar2015 · 20/05/2015 09:15

Wow I can't keep up! This thread is going so fast! Didn't have chance to log on yesterday so I feel like I've missed loads Confused
Just to update the stats this is my second baby? Not sure how to read the DC # on there? Sorry for being thick lol - oh and my EDD is 23.01.16

4+4 here and still enjoying knowing I'm pregnant without feeling shit (yet) Shock

And on the steak debate I'm a medium to well girl anyway haha - my husband says I kill a good steak but that's the way I like it Wink

CharChar2015 · 20/05/2015 09:19

Oh and just realised I'd posted that after only reading pages 1&2! There's a third lol.

Definitely get checked out b&w - and good luck Smile

originalusernamefail · 20/05/2015 09:27

Wow second thread already. Wonder what number we'll be on by Jan? I'm currently laid up in bed feeling v.sorry for myself, as I'm currently throwing up like a good 'un (and have been for around 10 days Sad). Been to the GP and she's given my Phenergan to try which is so far doing sweet f.a, she's also referred me for a scan to date (no periods so don't know where we are) and also to rule out a multiple pregnancy Blush. Not too worried about that though as I was sick from 4weeks to 40 with DS and there's definitely just one of him!

originalusernamefail · 20/05/2015 09:28

Ah yes Parsnipbob, I also have the shits Confused. I'm a joy to be around right now aren't I?

Juniper44 · 20/05/2015 09:32

I think the risk to baby and us is greater because our immune systems are lowered. It has to be low so that our bodies don't reject the baby as a foreign body, but that makes us more susceptible to infection.

On the plus side, being pregnant pretty much eliminates my allergies and I don't cry when I chop onions. Silver lining Wink

loveulotslikejellytots · 20/05/2015 09:33

Parsnipbob - I'm almost identical to you. Slightly sore boobs now, mild nausea, I feel like I've got a bit of a hangover if anything. And yes to the loose bowels Blush. Luckily it's not too often but just every now and again, I also read it could go the opposite way, I have been trying to eat lots of fibre and fruit and veg to pre-met this so maybe I've just over done it. As awful as if sounds, I'd rather have that than sickness, I bloody hate being sick. I'm sure no one likes it!

loveulotslikejellytots · 20/05/2015 09:33

Oh and I'm 6+2.

TeenieDeenie · 20/05/2015 09:35

Hi everyone. Can I please join you all? A very nervous passenger after an mmc in Dec (11+5) but I got my BFP on a FRER last night then rushed to tesco to back it up with a clear blue plus (strong positive) and a clear blue digi (pregnant 2-3 weeks). Am in shock and pretty terrified if I'm honest. Cycles been all over the place since the mmc so wasn't even sure if I was even ovulating. OH been very quiet since I told him and seems wary. Already talking about early scans and "not getting too carried away". I feel sad we can't be happier about this but I think we're both very nervous.

parsnipbob · 20/05/2015 09:48

Teenie welcome!! So happy for you!!

parsnipbob · 20/05/2015 09:50

And I totally understand you feeling nervous Teenie. We are all in the same boat and keeping out fx for one another. Even without previous MC I am bricking it so not surprised you are feeling that way.

TeenieDeenie · 20/05/2015 09:57

Hi parsnip (waves). Thank you Smile Yes it's exciting scary times but guess I just have to take it a day at a time. Will pop into the GP tonight to leave a sample for them to confirm then will ask for appt to beg for an early scan.

wlrg14 · 20/05/2015 10:03

Blackandwhite- pop to the gp they will send you for an early scan I expect, my gp said its probably nothing to worry about but they like to check out any sort of spotting/bleeding Smile

I feel OK actually although am slobbing on the sofa eating junk and watching TV, took the other cb digi today and it still says 1-2 the only small price of hope I have is that the pack does say they won't always give the right result after 6 weeks (I'm 6+1) but am feeling crampy today so not much hope here! Sad

Teenie- i completely sympathise, iv not miscarried before but am convinced that I will Confused have my fingers crossed for a healthy 9 months for you Smile

7 days till my early scan, I just need to know now I think...whatever the outcome Smile
