Hello, can I join? new to all this (forums/mumsnet/pregnancy....!) but these last 8 days since BFP have opened up a whole new world!

Stats: I'm 27 (- 2days) ttc actively one month. I'm 5+5 today, got Gp appt next week.

Been reading back through, and glad to hear variance in symptoms day to day, felt positively normal today which worried me, til the nausea/fatigue set in this eve.

Want to wait till 12week scan before telling anyone (except DH!) but my family are up this weekend for my birthday... Can I get through 3 days without mum sussing?! Won't see them again until I'm 14w

What "white lies" have you used to cover pregnancy symptoms?

CubanoHabana · 27/05/2015 23:12

Sorry dobby and Wombat hope it's good news tomorrow.

CubanoHabana · 27/05/2015 23:13

Im definitely in the anti-frankfurters leaugue! Yuck!

FizzyPinkWine · 28/05/2015 07:12

Sorry dobby and wombat.

I'm with the anti frankfurter group! (The thought makes me want to heave!!)

coffeenut · 28/05/2015 07:21

So sorry dobby. Take care of yourself. Wombat sending positive thoughts.

Welcome and congrats phiz and the other newcomers.

Brooke I've read a bit of what you've posted on the conception threads and it sounds like you've had such a hard time. I can understand it must be especially worrying given it's so different to your other pregnancies. I truly hope everything is okay.

Urgh I am also in the Anti-Frankfurter League (happen to love them usually but could not face even the sight of one at the moment).

So I've had my first appointment; spotted one jellybean with a heartbeat on the ultrasound in my doctor' office. Measuring 8 + 4 so a little ahead of dates (should be 8+1 today)

oneconfusedchick · 28/05/2015 07:22

Re - symptons. I went through my whole 9 months first pregnancy with pretty much no symptons the whole time! I now have a healthy 21 month old! I only had Sore boobs for first few weeks

crumble74 · 28/05/2015 07:34

Congrats on the scan coffee!
Sounds like we have similar size beans! I should also be 8+4 according to scan yesterday. Smile CRL was 18.3mm.

FizzyPinkWine · 28/05/2015 07:47

Congrats on the scan coffee!

mrschatty · 28/05/2015 08:13

Welcome phiz
I live around 200 miles away from my close family and was visiting them when I was 5 week- I told all of them as we were at a family party and not drinking is v unusual so not had to hide it...

I'm so sorry dobby I hope you have plenty of support in rl and please take care of yourself. Hugs x

Wombat Fingers and toes crossed for you.

Welcome Phizpop Smile

Coffee and Crumble lovely news about your scans ladies! Grin

Interesting link moonshine I had no idea that the intestines took up soo much room!

Not much to report here. 5+3 today and feeling not too bad, although in the evenings I easily look about 5 months pg due to some severe bloating! Have had a few queasy moments but no actual sickness so fx it stays away. Just waiting on my early scan appointment coming through. Oh, and does anyone wake up in the mornings hungry now? I've never been a big eater in the morning so this is definitely new!

mrschatty · 28/05/2015 09:09

teenie just wake up feeling dizzy!! Xx

moonshine25 · 28/05/2015 09:10

Oh yes I constantly wake up hungry now which i think is why I feel more nauseous in the morning than any other time of day! Wish I wasn't so knackered though - lilliana I can't wait to feel more awake either!

I'm self employed mrschatty and work for various different people - lots of phone calls to make! Think when I've had the 12 weeks scan I'll tell them maybe - I want to give them lots of time to find a replacement. I almost feel bad about it then I don't at all as I'm still so excited to be pregnant!

Lilliana · 28/05/2015 09:11

mrschatty my head was lovely when I told him last time - he gave me a hug which was unexpected and a bit weird but he was v supportive.
Ive been thinking about this as we have big changes going on at school and they will be sorting out staffing for September now (I'm a p/t teacher) so don't want to mess it all up as they prob won't give me a class if I'm leaving in jan for Mat leave. After the mc I don't really feel ready to tell anyone but won't get my scan until the end of term and it will all need to be finalised by then and I'll feel bad for screwing it all up.

mrschatty · 28/05/2015 09:13

Thanks moon! I suppose that's the bottom line isn't- we have an exciting time ahead so work isn't exactly the be all and end all!!!
Anyone else have a telling work I'm pregnant story xx

mrschatty · 28/05/2015 09:15

Thanks lil that's a predicament...will you be able to just confide in your head of dept or headteacher? X

brickiemum2 · 28/05/2015 09:30

I told work (only my boss) at 4 weeks (literally when I found out) as there are certain things at work I can't do. They were lovely. I've had a risk assessment and my boss subtly covers for me on the things I shouldn't be doing. I work in a Scottish school though so less than 4 weeks until we break up.
When I was preg last time I hadn't told them...then had to reveal all when it was a mmc and I was going to be off for some time. That was worse.

OP posts:
mrsfazruns · 28/05/2015 09:30

I just blurted it out!! I'm in the military and they wanted me to go away or do courses all the time so the week I found out literally approached my boss and said "think you should know im Pregnant" and that was it!!!

crumble74 · 28/05/2015 09:33

So sorry to hear Mama, please take care Flowers

mrschatty Last time round I told my boss at 14 weeks, after I had the 12wk scan but she knew we were trying and that I'd had 2 m/c so she was excited for me. I told colleagues a few days after, I brought in some chocolates - always a hit in an office full of women!
This time around I'll be much more nervous I think...I'm still on maternity leave & won't go back till I'm about 14 weeks so I'll have to tell them asap on my return. Don't think anyone will be too pleased this time around. Confused
