New thread for us all Grin

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
parsnipbob · 22/05/2015 11:49

Thanks jmac, yes I was reading up on it too and risk is negligible as far as I can tell, especially with indoor cats.

No more POAS for me!

OTheHugeManatee · 22/05/2015 12:43

Well I spoke to my UK GP who said get seen asap in case it's ectopic as I have a bit of pain. So I'm being referred to a clinic in Athens for a scan. I really hope it's all a panic over nothing but am so scared now Sad

loveulotslikejellytots · 22/05/2015 13:28

Holding your hand OTheHugeManatee. Get yourself a scan to check all is well.

Has anyone else's cramping really ramped up? 6+5 today and the cramps have stopped me in my tracks a couple of times. Not spotting or anything, just one off pains every now and again (no specific area, but feel just like period pains). Going to leave work early and head home for a nap before I go out tonight. Only put with my parents for dinner, no raving tonight Smile.

oneconfusedchick · 22/05/2015 13:49

Out of interest - has anyone told anyone yet? (Other than DP I mean!) I am about 4 weeks pregnant - not told anyone yet as it seems so early. with my DS I told people straight away but feel like I had more symptons then like sore boobs - plus I was more like 5-6 weeks pregnant then!

parsnipbob · 22/05/2015 14:08

I've told loads of people. My mum and my siblings all know, plus my auntie, plus 3 best friends. I'll need the support if anything goes wrong, so I figured I'd tell them :)

parsnipbob · 22/05/2015 14:08

Loveu I've had hardly any cramping at all so far. Sore boobs seem to have vanished today as well!

oneconfusedchick · 22/05/2015 14:09

ooo I had not thought of that parsnip - I was very much like that last time - think I might wait a week though. I had a false positive last month and I still feel like its so new!!!

loveulotslikejellytots · 22/05/2015 14:31

One - we've told parents, our best friends (they are married with kids, so know to keep it a secret) plus we have a lot of social things coming up with them, it's helpful to have someone else there to help me cover up non-drinking!

BlueEspoir · 22/05/2015 15:16

I've told my parents and siblings (and DH has told his parents). I've also told a handful of good girlfriends - the ones I've told are those who supported me after my mc in March. I would definitely need them if it happened again and so wanted to tell them early on. Also, like Loveulots says, it's handy having a few people who are happy to cover you (they now know when I ask for a G&T I only want tonic!). I am also not keen on lying to friends so if we are asked outright (like we were last weekend), I intend to be up-front about it.

Manatee - am thinking of you. Try to relax although I realise that's easier said than done.

Mrs Faz - good idea re the pact. I hereby promise not to POAS again!

MelonMelon · 22/05/2015 15:35

manatee ill be thinking of you. I hope all is ok

parsnip yey glad you've done something to ease the anxiety

We've not told anyone yer although I might do if we get to 8 weeks and hAve a scan as we're going on holiday with my family to Bordeaux and I love red wine!

Lookingforadvice123 · 22/05/2015 15:44

Thinking of you manatee hope all is ok. I know of a few people who've gone in worried about ectopic and it wasn't.

I'm still getting these horrible stabby twingey pains to the right of my belly button Sad have had them on and off since Monday night and there's no pattern eg I em get them when I'm standing, sitting still etc. Maybe not so much when I'm lying down but have def had them whilst in bed...it's really getting to me as I can't help but worry.

I've told loads of people! I'm 7+4, told my best friend straight away, then my sister, then mine and Dh's parents. Have also told a friend in work who's also pregnant, and my line manager, who had already guessed! Apparently other people in my team have suspicions that I am but they haven't come out and asked me, they're too polite.

goodnessgraciousgouda · 22/05/2015 15:55

Good luck Manatee - I think it's a very good idea to get it checked out now, but obviously I hope it's nothing out of the ordinary.

confused - Aside from DP, the only people that we have actively told are my best friend back in the UK, and a couple we are close friends with here in Lyon, as she is also pregnant and I needed to ask her practical questions.

Out of my husbands friends, I think he may have tentatively said something to a few of them when they were rude enough to ask him outright (seriously, who the fuck does that). A few people have most likely figured it out, but had enough manners to not mention it.

I'm only 6+6 and want to wait until after the 12 week scan before I tell anyone else.

SleepyDragon · 22/05/2015 16:00

Hey ladies!

6+1 today and got a bit worried earlier as this is the first day in a while I've not felt sick etc. I'm putting it down to trying to convince myself to feel fine so my mum who is down for the weekend won't suspect anything. We're waiting till Sunday when we, and her, meet up with DH parents so we can tell them all at the same time.

Now I've sat down and we're watching TV I have a bit of a restless tummy again but not sicky. We're going to tell his sisters too but no one else till 12 weeks

ValancyJane · 22/05/2015 16:40

manatee Thinking of you - hope all goes well with the scan.

We've told quite a few people; I've told two close colleagues at work and two really good friends (who both have kids - I needed their advice and expertise early on when I was panicking!). OH has told his brother. We're telling our parents this weekend and a couple of other very close friends. To be honest it IS early to be doing that (I'm only 5+1 today) but if things went wrong we'd tell them, so figure we may as well let them know now! (Plus there's only so long I can get away with not drinking and have them believe me...)

Has anyone else had symptoms pretty much disappear overnight? I've had no cramping today and my nipples aren't really as sore. Started to worry about that now!

Also, OH has agreed that we should have a reassurance scan if it will make me feel happier... So going to book one in for when I'm about 7+3 or so :)

ValancyJane · 22/05/2015 16:42

Looking I think twingey pains are normal... I'm worrying because I have no pains - can we swap for a bit? ;)

parsnipbob · 22/05/2015 16:46

Sleepy and Valancy I think it's normal for symptoms to come and go.

I haven't had any symptoms whatsoever yet, only slightly sore breasts, and even they don't feel particularly sore today!

Thinking of you manatee.

MaybeMrsMum2016 · 22/05/2015 16:50

Hope all is well Manatee

Lookingforadvice123 · 22/05/2015 17:59

I'll swap valancy!

Think I will go for an early scan, £40 is so cheap in fairness. Might try and do it for next Fri when I'll be 8+4 (if I get through this weekend when my period would've been due Sad)

OTheHugeManatee · 22/05/2015 17:59

I'm back from the clinic. Good news is it's not ectopic. Less good news is I have a massive fibroid which may have stopped the pregnancy progressing as the scan was consistent with 5wks, not nearly 7. They're doing blood tests to check for mmc, I go back for the second tomorrow. Needless to say I feel pretty crap Sad

SleepyDragon · 22/05/2015 18:02

Oh manatee I'm so sorry to hear that, fingers crossed for you x

MaybeMrsMum2016 · 22/05/2015 18:02

Oh manatee that's really poop! Although at least it wasn't ectopic I suppose.

Sending you all these: Wine Cake Biscuit Flowers

CubanoHabana · 22/05/2015 18:43

Hope it's positive tomorrow manatee Cake

parsnipbob · 22/05/2015 19:01

So sorry manatee. Keeping my fingers crossed for you Flowers

TeenieDeenie · 22/05/2015 19:42

FX for good news tomorrow for you manatee. X

impatientlywaiting · 22/05/2015 21:04

Manatee I have everything crossed that things will be okay for you at the scan tomorrow. How horrible to be left with this uncertainty.

Hope you are doing okay.
