wlrg so sorry you've been through this, wishing you luck for the future.

Congrats to those who have seen little heartbeats :)

I'd like to early scan, I think I may get one on the nhs anyway (the midwife for DS1 insisted I used LMP date ignoring my average (long) cycle date so I had scan at 9 weeks last time.

My food is dull! My mum has coeliac, although I tested negative for it about 10 years ago the test isn't conclusive. Anyway it can cause fertility issues (and particularly miscarriages- my mum had 5 and a couple of those were late term) so after 14 months TTC (4 of these months on clomid) I thought I'd give gluten free a go, anyway I got pregnant on month 15, gluten free. Of course even though it was probably a coincidence I feel I have to keep it up now throughout my pregnancy for fear of miscarriage. craving croissants and toast and donuts, I'm going to get huge post baby when I eat all these again!

MaybeMrsMum2016 · 21/05/2015 19:21

Parsnip I have an indoor cat. I have a pile of disposable gloves and use a litter tray liner so hopefully reducing my risk to just about zero. Always wash my hands after emptying the tray too, and spray it with dettol frequently.

parsnipbob · 21/05/2015 19:25

MaybeMrs I know I have the same things I just totally forgot! I'm now freaking out.

Lookingforadvice123 · 21/05/2015 19:26

Argh I've just freaked myself out (again) by looking at stuff online (again)! Whilst googling the risk of miscarriage at 8 weeks (I'll be 8 weeks Monday) I came across a website which said the risk of miscarriage is higher when your period would've been due, so e.g. At 4,8,12 and 16 weeks. This terrifies me as I had a normal 28 day cycle and would be due on my period this coming Sunday had I not been pregnant. Does anyone know if this is true? I've never heard it before!!!

brickiemum2 · 21/05/2015 19:30

I hope b&w is ok after her scan at midday. She said she would update.

Good point Brickie, really hope she had good news.

crumble74 · 21/05/2015 19:37

I agree - no limit on stodgy/snack foods during pregnancy!

Sounds so familiar aloha! I had a 3 day cheese & pickle phase last time round which was followed by a 3 day tinned ravioli habit. I went off pizza & chicken completely.

It's not so well defined yet this time around although I do have some of those "car sick" nausea waves. Good description looking!

Bought some crumpets today!

OrangeBeehive · 21/05/2015 19:45

Thanks for the reassurance Looking (and the shared cornflake love LittleB!)

Looking, I've never heard that before, not sure what would cause that? Someone more expert than me will probably be along to reassure you shortly but I'd try not to worry!

How do you get usernames to go in bold?

Also...feeling quite sick since dinner time, forced vegetables down and really didn't want them!

Bluebird89 · 21/05/2015 19:49

Owwww I thought I was fairly symptom free but I've just been for a run and my nipples were agony the whole way. Not enjoyable

MelonMelon · 21/05/2015 19:58

What are people's opinions on early scans? I've sent off some enquiries for when I'm 8 weeks (if I get there) I know things could still go wrong but I'm going out of my mind

goodnessgraciousgouda · 21/05/2015 20:01

aloha - thank god it's not just me!!! I'm never really much of a foodie, but not wanting to eat anything whatsoever despite being starving is new to me.

Orange - to get something in bold you just put a star on each side of the word (shift and number 8 to get the star)

parsnipbob · 21/05/2015 20:04

Melon I'm in the same boat as you, trying to decide whether to have an early scan or not.

crumble74 · 21/05/2015 20:08

I only had an early scan because I had an MMC which was only picked up at the NHS scan and I wished I'd had known sooner! I had private scans throughout my last pregnancy as I was so paranoid but they were great.

ValancyJane · 21/05/2015 20:14

I'm started to get tempted by the idea of an early scan now ladies... Will have to see if I can persuade OH that it's worth it!!

mrsfazruns · 21/05/2015 20:16

I had a private scan today!! Heard lots of mixed reviews about going but the company I used were brilliant!! They new I had previous MC an was really nervous etc and they were super supportive!! Showed me everything and the heartbeat and I came away feeling a 100% more relaxed .... Was DEFINATELY worth paying for!! I know things can still go wrong but seeing that I got further along than the last time really lifted my spirits (and made the nausea feel worth it) x

Lookingforadvice123 · 21/05/2015 20:20

How far along are you mrsfazruns?

mrsfazruns · 21/05/2015 20:27

6+5 today!! My last pregancy I got to 9 weeks but baby had never made it last 5 or ever had a HB so wanted to make sure I got one this time!! Little pip is measuring bang on time for my dates x

OrangeBeehive · 21/05/2015 20:31

Thank you Goodness

OrangeBeehive · 21/05/2015 20:31

Yey it worked!

dobbythedoggy · 21/05/2015 20:48

Alright to join you ladies? I'm 4 weeks 3 days with baby number 2. Due 25th januay I think.

Dh and I have a beautiful dd already who is 2 1/2 years old.

Although I was convinced it would take an age to happen, dh was right and we concived on our first month trying! I've been feeling pretty rubush for the past few weeks, gone through loads of pregnancy test before getting the first positive on monday.

Constantly exhausted but really strugling to sleep this week as I feel at my sickest not long after dd is in bed. Acid at the back of the throat is so much fun.

Waking up radomly at about 5 am and not being able to get back to sleep for an hour or so. Dd sleeps until 7 am thankfull.

Feeling constantly sick on a low level, wose at certain times. Not bad in the mornings like it was with dd. Sea bands take the edge off. Sparking water with lime and salty things helps. Mint makes me sick! Go through phase of constantly eatting and then not being able to face anything.

Shivering and cold.

Breast aching and itchy.

Although they are actually a little too big, very pariod about wearing my favourate high waisted jeans.

CubanoHabana · 21/05/2015 21:10

Been away from dh for a couple of days and he was gobsmacked by size of bump when he saw me... I have no idea how I'm going to hide it, seem to have developed a proper mini one over 2 days... He keeps saying it must be twins, as only 7+1

OTheHugeManatee · 21/05/2015 22:00

I'm now freaking out massively as I had a bit of spotting tonight. It seems to have stopped but still it's given me The Fret. Please can someone who's had a baby before reassure me that it doesn't automatically mean catastrophe.

impatientlywaiting · 21/05/2015 22:06

Manatee if definitely doesn't mean catastrophe. I used to get it after DTD last pregnancy and some people get it all the way through with perfectly healthy beans. Know it's worrying and paranoia inducing though,so hope it stops soon.

Hope we hear back from b&w soon

Blackandwhitecat3 · 21/05/2015 22:17

Hi everyone, thank you for your thoughts and sorry for keeping you all waiting, I have had a very busy day...

It's good news! Grin no more spotting and a heartbeat like a steam train. Scan was good, baby in the right place, no visible lining breakdown or cysts anywhere. I am so relieved. It was magic hearing that heartbeat.

They measured it and estimated 5+4, but this was IVF so I know I'm 6+3. Still, at this stage it's so small they can't be accurate. I have a scan next Tuesday at the clinic so hoping it grows by then!

Brickie glad to hear your scan went well. Such a worry.

wlrg so, so sorry Flowers glad you are being looked after.

Blackandwhitecat3 · 21/05/2015 22:18

manatee I have learnt over the last 24 hours of a good number of friends who have had bleeding and I have met their DCs.

Please do what I did and contact your GP tomorrow (or out of hours if you get more spotting tonight). It is probably fine but worth getting checked out. How far along are you?
