penguin, that's an amazing policy!! Bloody love it!! I love primark but the queues can be just ridiculously long sometimes ConfusedConfused

SparklyPenguin · 26/05/2015 22:22

Yep! Just wish our local supermarket did the same...

smallgreenbanana · 26/05/2015 22:22

My belly button popped out ages ago and now looks like a volcano with a small indentation left in the middle of a mountain! My linea nigra goes around the belly button too! Funny. Grin

smallgreenbanana · 26/05/2015 22:37

Primark isn't too easy for me to get to, but I guess I should try - thanks for the tip everyone. Smile Everyone is very chatty today.

I think DH and I have decided on the name - makes everything seem really real suddenly. This baby will have a name that we picked! Shock

Threeplus1 · 26/05/2015 23:12

SadEnvy no Primark here in Canada, just a couple of overpriced maternity boutiques and, a very limited selection of maternity clothes in one or two GAPs & H&M's but not very close to me (and we have no car)

fattymcfatfat · 26/05/2015 23:20

hi all. I fell off the thread.
congrats to zampa on the beautiful baby Emma.

I'm 32 weeks tomorrow eek! I have my bags packed and ready though. I have a medium sized suitcase for me and a little one for baby. I find it easier to wheel them when leaving hospital than to be lifting bags.
my bump keeps lifting up and down depending on this ones position. sometimes he has his head right down then he will pop back up. Grin

fattymcfatfat · 26/05/2015 23:23

and massive sympathy to anyone suffering SPD. I am on crutches and have gotten to the point physio has advised to stop doing exercises (I can still do pelvic floors and pull my tummy in, but nothing else) as it is causing so much pain.

Fattycow · 27/05/2015 01:34

Spd is the worst!

fattymcfatfat · 27/05/2015 02:03

yup Sad I'm still up because of it.

LaLaLaaaa · 27/05/2015 07:57

Just ow.

:(

Clstow · 27/05/2015 08:30

Welcome back Fatty - sorry to hear about the SPD, can you put your feet up?

My heavily preggo friend went to Primark last week and not only jumped the queue but was assigned a staff member to carry her basket for her and help navigate around the store. She said it was like the weirdest personal shopping experience ever haha. Definitely gonna take advantage! Grin

I'm trainers all the way now Broody, can't be doing with proper shoes at the moment. Am wondering if I can justify some new Nike Airs on the basis that I've not spent any money on booze for months...

Fattycow · 27/05/2015 09:21

I wish I'd known about the queue jumping in Primark a couple of months back. I had to leave the queue and the shop a few months ago as it was just so hot and I was getting ill...

The only problem with trainers is that I'm finding it harder and harder to do them up... have to sort of twist around my body holding my breath until I get the laces tied, baby kicking me all the while!

LaLaLaaaa · 27/05/2015 09:37

I'm in ballet pumps - slip in easily and I can slip them off at desk to air my poor sore feet. Only downside is they get a bit stinky! So I rotate my pairs and wash them every weekend.

Went up to London yesterday for an event. Oh my god I'm paying for it today! Hips are throbbing. Definitely last time I'm doing that before baby is born.

My baby is active most of the time now. It's comforting to feel

Thepurplegiraffe · 27/05/2015 09:55

I am living on slip on trainers and flip flops, socks are hard enough. I have given up all pretence of wearing smart shoes at work.
I didn't get an outy or the line last pregnancy and haven't yet this time but there is still time for both.
Massive sympathy and Thanks for anyone suffering from spd, pregnancy is hard enough without it!

Number3cometome · 27/05/2015 09:56

I'm in flats, 8.99 from Newlook, the ones that look elasticy and fold in half?
Got my normal size (5) (well am normally a 4.5) but my ankles swelled all over them so got another pair in a size 6 which are much more comfy.
I probably look like a duck billed platypus foot but I really don't care for fashion at the moment, I am far too fat.

So far I have put on 3 stone.

Growth scan today, hope some of that weight has gone on baby!
So far we have been small at a scan, and average, so fingers crossed!

SPD is a nightmare, I was seeing the chiropractor and had sports massages, it was giving me relief but now i'm finding I am only getting relief for a day or two and for £35 a time it just isn't worth it.
Just trying not to outstretch my legs too far.
Randomly (and much to OH's liking) DTD actually helps a lot.
Not sure if it's helping to strengthen muscles down there or what?

Baby's bag is packed. Mine is still in the shop must buy a bag

smallgreenbanana · 27/05/2015 10:24

number3 There are some pelvic muscles that you can only reach for massage from the inside (I kid you not!). Sounds like your poor pelvis is working overtime trying to keep everything stable.

Has anyone with SPD tried an osteopath instead of a chiropractor? I've seen an osteopath for many years on and off for various problems and have been seeing my osteopath in pregnancy every few weeks to keep problems in check (particularly as earlier on I thought I was going to get SPD). They cost about the same as a chiropractor per session but they tend to have a different treatment philosophy in that the treatments are longer (usually 30-45 mins) and they believe in treating as little as possible so overall I think it's more economical.

Number3cometome · 27/05/2015 10:35

Small I have a spinal fusion too, so everything is working extra hard to cope. The Chiropractor couldn't touch the area around my lower back (well didn't want to) so treatment was limited.

I saw an osteopath in my last pregnancy (was on crutches it got so bad) and the treatment was good, but not got one close to home!

smallgreenbanana · 27/05/2015 11:01

number3 good thing your OH is keen on helping with some internal massage then! Wink Flowers And it's free!

Number3cometome · 27/05/2015 11:06

haha!!

charlieis30 · 27/05/2015 12:20

I dont have SPD but ongoing longterm lower back pain. I see a chiropractor in London who is a bit spendy but makes a huge difference, very holistic, massage then a bit of cracking if needed. He's also big on homework. .. lots of stablising exercises I'm supposed to do between sessions. Have been havung SI joint issues which have almost gone yay!

Luckystar82 · 27/05/2015 12:24

It's getting very chatty on here!

My sympathies to all the ladies with SPD. It must be awful.

I use Tens machine to keep my muscular back pain under control and find it works much better than oestopath. Is that something you can try? I know manufacturers warn against using it until 38 weeks but my NCT teacher and a physio advised the manufacturers are just covering themselves and there is no hard evidence of a link between early labour and Tens machines.

charlieis30 · 27/05/2015 12:33

just googled and looks like spd/si joint issues are related (if not the same thing?)

Number3cometome · 27/05/2015 12:37

No, SI and SPD are different.

I have SI joint dysfunction from my spinal fusion (too much pressure on the joint) it is a different type of pain x

fattymcfatfat · 27/05/2015 12:48

all I know is I can't afford to pay for treatment and I have an unstable spine too. but apparently that doesn't warrant any extra NHS sessions. I can get acupuncture but not sure if it will have any real benefits. I also don't get how being repeatedly stabbed will lessen my pain.
