Fatty if you can get the acupuncture I would give it a try - many swear by it.
I've had it for my back and it does not hurt at all

Naturegirl82 · 27/05/2015 13:02

fatty I've had acupuncture on my back as well and it did help. Don't know why it does but after 6 months of any exercise and months of physio I was just glad something worked!

Naturegirl82 · 27/05/2015 13:03

of should have been off!

LaLaLaaaa · 27/05/2015 13:39

I've seen both Physio and osteopath for my spd. I normally see osteopath for my upper back and shoulder. It surprised me how much I creaked when he worked on my hips this time. It felt better afterwards but a week late I'm back to pain

broodylicious · 27/05/2015 14:09

fattymc, I'm with you on this - I'm quite skeptical as to whether acupuncture would work either. Loads of people swear by it though for tons of different issues and I've heard it doesn't feel like needles in you as you'd imagine, so I'd never say never.... But just not right now WinkGrin

smallgreenbanana · 27/05/2015 14:22

number3 should have said, hope your growth scan goes well.

fattymc I forget, are you off work yet or full time mum?

Sorry there are so many ladies with bad SPD. Not too long to go now and then we get our joints back Flowers

smallgreenbanana · 27/05/2015 14:26

Right time to go shopping and try not to buy all the food Grin Wish all shops helped with heavy shopping!

fattymcfatfat · 27/05/2015 14:47

I'm a SAHM. I have to take my mum shopping then I don't buy all of sainsbos. Grin

charlieis30 · 27/05/2015 14:58

I'm a fan of acupuncture for general wellbeing. I hadnt had a session since I got pregnant but haven't been sleeping well, went yesterday afternoon and managed almost unbroken 10h last night!

smallgreenbanana · 27/05/2015 15:03

Doesn't acupuncture release endorphins? We need those for birth so sounds like a good idea!

broodylicious · 27/05/2015 15:04

Haha fattymc, same here. I've been banned from shopping alone for some time now in fact. Apparently, it's not good to spend £70 on tiger bread, candles and cheese...?

fattymcfatfat · 27/05/2015 15:11

I see nothing wrong with your shopping list broody

charlieis30 · 27/05/2015 15:42

Speaking of shopping lists, anyone having any cravings? I'm adding extra spice to just about everything I eat (mustard, chilli sauce...) but I wouldn't call it a "craving". Also a smoothie every morning but again, just a nice breakfast when the weather is good, not like I'm Angry if I don't get it...

fattymcfatfat · 27/05/2015 16:35

mines salt and vinegar walkers. I'm a bit obsessed. not as bad as when I was having DS1 though. I craved bbq Pringles with him. they had none in the shop and I shouted at the shopkeeper when he tried to give me sour cream and onion!

Fattycow · 27/05/2015 16:56

I need to make a shopping list for this Friday. A local branch of a big supermarket chain is closing and everything will be 50% off!

Wow lots of chat.
My belly button hasn't popped but it's very stretched. Don't have a line tho. Didn't with other 2 tho.
Thankfully I don't suffer spd feel for all you ladies that do. But have an achey back so arranging a rekei style massage off a friend. I actually partly blame her for baby as she was showing me how reiki can help with fertility just days before conception.
I wouldn't say I have cravings but I'm loving chocolate much more than usual. When I'm at work I can't not buy chocolate eclairs and eat both.

broodylicious · 27/05/2015 18:35

Not got a craving right now charlie but a few months back, I was obsessed with gherkins and got through a good few jars of an m&s hot dog relish (think it was called posh dog?) because I had to have it with everything. In the very early stages, it was all about gravy. Again on everything! Not loving chocolate or fizzy drinks, both make me yukky.

charlieis30 · 27/05/2015 19:27

I'm with you on not wanting fizzy drinks, they just make me feel more bloated than I am already. My digestion is certainly...slowing down... if you know what I mean. Ugh, so annoying. Really don't need to feel any bigger!

Charliej86 · 27/05/2015 20:28

Sweets/chocolate/fizzy drinks all my fav things at the moment. We do enjoy fruit & veg still tho.

Today at work we were given a brief that were restricting sales of powdered baby milk to 3 units per customer (apparently people are bulk buying and sending to China causing a shortage here, we're last supermarket to do so) anyway it made me think. As much as I want to breastfeed there is the chance baby won't agree. Should I buy some milk just incase if so which one? I used cow & gate with other 2 simply because dd wouldn't bf and that's what hospital provided in bottles. ??

MrsFbabyNo1 · 27/05/2015 21:11

Yes bloody chatty lot!!! I've been busy last 2 days and 100+ posts to catch up on!

Fattycow · 27/05/2015 21:13

charlie, I'm not buying any formula before. My reasoning is like this:
if we are hitting a rough patch with nursing, and I have the formula in the house, it will be so easy to just make a bottle instead of persisting. If I don't have it, someone will have to go to a store to get some, which will take at least half an hour, if not longer. During that time, I can call someone for breastfeeding support and maybe work it all out. The baby won't be harmed by eating a little later and I know I will be angry with myself if I just 'give in', for want of another word. It is just too easy to make up a bottle at 4am when you are tired and baby has been screaming for food.
If breastfeeding really doesn't work, you can always buy formula then.

charliej, that's a good attitude to have re bfing. I fully intend to breastfeed again but baby may not take to it, have severe tongue tie or something that prevents it or I may be ill after birth...lots of things out of my control. I am planning on buying the ready made bottles or cartons (six pack) just in case. It'd be last resort because I loved my bfing journey with dd (two years) but who knows what'll happen. Best be prepared for any eventuality in my mindSmile

Fattycow · 27/05/2015 21:21

I should have added that it isn't possible over here to buy the ready made cartons here, only the big cans of powder.

OP posts:
broodylicious · 27/05/2015 22:17

I personally would not see it as "giving in" if I needed to give formula or thought it was best for my baby, even though I'd hoped to breastfeed. Formula does not kill. A baby needs a happy mummy and that means feeding baby however mummy feels is best for her family. Frankly, I think there's far too much pressure on women to breastfeed from antenatal groups (NCT etc) and peers that if/when women discover they can't do it or their babies have issues with latching, or actually they just don't want to do it, they feel like a failure because they've been battered with the breast is the best message. Yes it is medically acknowledged and as I have stated already, I loved my breastfeeding journey with dd, but that doesn't mean it's best for every family and situation. Each woman to their own.

Fattycow · 27/05/2015 22:21

I agree! That's why I put it in quotation marks
