Evening ladies- Not posted in a while, lots to catch up on- welcome Sue , congratulations Nat !
I'm feeling almost ready now. Maternity leave has clearly been the kick up the arse I needed to start being more organised and productive- now got my hospital bags nearly packed, went to Mothercare and got fitted for nursing bras (just as well, my size guess was completely wrong!), booked my TENS machine hire, joined the local library, bought a bath support thingy for baby plus a couple of those cute little hooded towels, and (reluctantly) done lots of long-neglected housework. DH is working tonight so I've now settled in for a night of biscuits and crap telly Grin

MustBeLoopy390 · 24/06/2015 00:41

Back in hosp due to issues at home (midwife told me to push but she didn't check if I was ready, baby went tachycardic), 3 cms dilated stretching to 4 at 8pm, sweep given at 10pm, was told if no change discharge at 12, not been examined but put into latent phase room until 4/4.30 and if no change discharge. Unsure why we are still here, midwife doesn't know what a3 means and doesn't know why it's there. Getting dubious about going home now as every time we are about to be discharged it's extended by 2-4 hours

MustBeLoopy390 · 24/06/2015 05:08

No answers, reversed progress and been kicked off a mat ward seconds after an internal at 4.10 in the morning. Thumbs up nhs!

smallgreenbanana · 24/06/2015 05:59

mustbe That sounds frustrating! Are you back home now? In the plus side you are dilated so baby is on its way. Maybe once you are relaxed again at home things will resume Flowers Thinking of you all. Xx

broodylicious · 24/06/2015 07:28

Have you got a birthing ball, must? If so, sit on and get rotating your hips - rotate to dilate, as the phrase goes. Hope things pick up a bit quicker now because you'll be totally exhausted otherwise xx

jmojo · 24/06/2015 07:42

must if you have stopped tightening then I would try to sleep after that night. Then get out and have a good walk, get on the birth ball etc later today. You need some rest or you will be goid for nothing.

smallgreenbanana · 24/06/2015 08:31

Wise words jmojo!

SueV14 · 24/06/2015 10:40

Luckystar82 · 24/06/2015 10:41

Congrats natanotherone welcome sue

Good luck mustbe hope you progress today after some reviving sleep or rest.

First day of mat leave for me yesterday...I spent the day at Woburn Center Parcs spa. It was so lovely and was able to use quite a lot of areas. The outdoor pool was warm and it overlooks the forest. Was so lovely to have a relaxing day of pampering for myself, ready for baby to arrive now, but haven't actually packed my hospital bag/ done any washing for ages or housework for that matter. Will fill up the rest of mat leave 'nesting'!

LostSoulsForever · 24/06/2015 10:54

Welcome Sue, and congrats Nat! There seem to be quite a few early arrivals :)

Laughed a lot at whoever wanks past a mirror! Charlie, was it?! Cracking typo ;)

Sue, if you search on the pregnancy forum there are usually a few good posts about what you do/don't need to pack in hospital bag. If it helps, I have put in:
For baby...
3 x baby gro's & vests (different sizes)
Nappies, wipes & nappy bags
Vaseline (to smother on babies bum to stop meconium poo from sticking)!
Hat
Blanket
3 x muslins
For me...
Pj's (dark)
Underwear x 5 (bigger size than normal)
1 pack maternity pads
A few breast pads
Feeding bra
Miniature toiletries (shampoo, conditioner, hair grips & bobbles, shower gel, toothbrush & paste, moisturiser, lip balm)
I have the following still to sort:
Drinks & snacks
Tea tree oil
Moist toilet tissue (sorry if TMI)
And probably a few other bits & pieces
I am hoping to have a home birth though so hopefully eon't need it. Also will have other bits out so they are to hand if need to stay in longer.

Must, it sounds like you are having a bit of a time of it. Hope everything starts going a bit more smoothly for you.

Midwife assessment tomorrow to see if can go ahead with home birth plans - fingers crossed!

Clstow · 24/06/2015 11:12

Hope you're ok Must Flowers

Aretepetite · 24/06/2015 15:33

Hope your doing ok Must Flowers

Some serious nesting/clearing out done again. This time I had some muscle in the shape of d's & dh to lift sofas, rip up a carpet :) it feels good. Just have to gut out kitchen and that should be me. I do have a cupboard and my wardrobe needing a clear out too Confused
Back garden is finished too.
I would like some new garden furniture but funds won't allow just yet.
The bin has become my favourite place Shock everything goes in there. If baby isn't born soon there will be nothing left Grin
In all seriousness it was good to have a clear out.

Crib, pram and furniture are built and good to go. My young cousin is giving me a glider chair. Items for hospital bag all together in primark bag

Time to relax and eat ice cream :) keep these blasted hormones at bay.

Hope you are all well and good and enjoying last few weeks xx

SueV14 · 24/06/2015 15:51

LostSoul thank you so much! very helpful indeed! When do you guys normally have your hospital bag ready? At 37 weeks or before that?

Charliej86 · 24/06/2015 16:03

Woo I can just about breathe again, now I'm on mission get this baby out. Ok so I'm only 36+5 but I'm soooo ready. We been for a walk today now I'm on the ball. OH flat out refuses sex tho. Need to try convince him.

broodylicious · 24/06/2015 16:18

charliej, my dh is the same. Will not go near any kind of sexual activity. Boo to that I say. He was happy enough to do it on tap at the beginning of this journey, he should really be finishing it off tooWink I also am very aware it will be at least six months until we even have the energy and time to dtd so reckon it's now or wait til the new year lol!

Number3cometome · 24/06/2015 17:32

Me and OH are still dtd (he likes to pretend he can't manage it but then does) but I find afterwards I get lots of BH and feel very periody. It's nice for the moment. Not so nice after!

smallgreenbanana · 24/06/2015 18:15

Oh! I think my bump might have dropped a bit??

Sue 37 weeks for the hospital bag seems reasonable to me...

number3 I know what you mean...

charlieis30 · 24/06/2015 20:15

I did my hospital bag way before 37 but I'm repacking at the moment. Can't decide what to pack to go home in...

GotToBeInItToWinIt · 24/06/2015 20:17

Sue I'm 38+1 and haven't done mine yet! 37 weeks sounds reasonable Smile.
On the exercise ball tonight. Have decided that despite having a toddler with a broken leg who also potentially has chicken pox, I want this baby out!!! So uncomfortable!

broodylicious · 24/06/2015 20:23

Haha gottobe, sooo pg of you, changing your mind! I knew you wouldn't want to hold out!

charlieis30, I'll wear home what I went in wearing. No paparazzi will be waiting outside for me and no one will be at our house for a party, so no need to be all glammed up Wink

broodylicious · 24/06/2015 20:25

And my walk today was all about getting bubs on the move, gottobe, so I'm totally joining you btw Wink

GotToBeInItToWinIt · 24/06/2015 20:28

I'm going to be found mainlining raspberry leaf tea while sitting on my ball from now on broody Wink

charlieis30 · 24/06/2015 21:01

It's not about being glam at all but I do want something that I know is comfy and dark coloured!

I'm having the little one at St Marys so DH and I are already joking about taking a going home pic on the steps of the Lindo... DH was like "you should get that dress Kate wore"... um no thanks husband!

Charliej86 · 24/06/2015 21:26

OH thinks bump has dropped, a few of the neighbours shouted across the same today. Told mam and she also thought it had, so I got back on the ball. If it's not raining in morning I'm going to walk half the school run. There's pains kicking about so I'm taking it as good signs.

SueV14 · 24/06/2015 22:48

So, back home after a visit to my consultant today, with not so great news. 35 weeks today, baby is still stubbornly breach. She still may turn but doc said there is not too much liquid in my placenta which makes it more difficult for the baby to turn, so this could be a baby which stays breech. And she said if it doesn't turn she wouldn't recommend waiting for labour to start but to plan a CS. :((( This is all quite disappointing I have to say. I shall continue doing the exercises and go for the next checkup next weeks Thu.

Going to bounce on my gym ball until I fall asleep....
