Congratulations Natanotherone! Lovely news. Smile

Aretepetite · 23/06/2015 08:40

Many congratulations Nat

Hope you are both well.

Love to you all :)

SueV14 · 23/06/2015 09:38

Thanks for your kind words broodylicious! I actually feel rather guilty for not breastfeeding my baby directly but I simply know I will be very uncomfortable doing that. So not feeling like a hero at all, just trying to find a healthy middle somewhere to at least provide my baby with valuable nutrients whilst minimizing my discomfort. Lets hope it all works out the way I plan. x

P.S.: I also wanted to say thank you to all you lovely ladies for the warm welcome! I'm gutted I didn't join the thread earlier! xo

smallgreenbanana · 23/06/2015 10:06

Did I welcome you Sue? If not, welcome! Smile Star

MustBeLoopy390 · 23/06/2015 10:53

Welcome Sue! Don't feel guilty if you don't feel comfortable! You're doing the best for both you and baby :)
Am I correct in thinking we have a midwife (or someone with experience) on thread? What does 'A3' wrote on the front of mat notes mean?

SueV14 · 23/06/2015 11:10

Just had a closer look at that Tommee Tippee Closer to Nature Perfect Prep machine some of you mentioned... There are video reviews and demonstrations on YouTube as well. No robot arm, :) but I have to say it does look like a very practical thing, mostly cause it saves you all the trouble of boiling the water first, then cooling it down to the right temperature, measuring etc. I imagine that for night feelings it may be a life saver to have the bottle ready in just a couple of mins. It's 120 at mamas and papas what I find insane. But 80 quid at Mothercare which even though still a lot, is may be worth considering....

charlieis30 · 23/06/2015 11:41

jmojo is the midwife i believe!

ohlordyplordy · 23/06/2015 12:29

Welcome Sue. Amazon has perfect prep at just under £60 :)

SueV14 · 23/06/2015 13:08

Thanks ohlord Did see just under 90 quid on amazon but didn't notice other sellers offering for 60. Longer dispatch times is the only downside. I think I'm gonna get one of these babies... Obviously nothing you can't do by hand but very time saving I believe.

Number3cometome · 23/06/2015 13:12

Hi ladies, so much going on with everyone at the moment, it's hard to keep up!

Does anyone keep staring at their baby stuff and feel totally detached from the fact they will have a baby soon?

It's my third and it still doesn't feel real!!

smallgreenbanana · 23/06/2015 13:47

number3 Totally with you there. Feel like I've gone through the motions preparing everything but just can't get my head around how life will change at all. It seems incredible that there will actually be another new person around created out of nothing. Very odd!

Charliej86 · 23/06/2015 13:48

Congratulations nat

Number i feel like that a little too. We have everything set up ready, Moses basket is in corner of living room n starting to feel it'll never be filled by anyone other than the cat. I'm pleased we haven't moved cot in the bedroom yet or would be an extra reminder.

I'm still full of cold, really struggling

charlieis30 · 23/06/2015 14:05

number3 charlie and banana I'm exactly the same. I'm even still a little bit surprised when I wank past a mirror and see my bump! It all feels very unreal.

Sometimes I think it would be really nice to know which exact day she's planning on making her arrival. It would make it a bit more like an exam or whatever that you can "prep" for. At the moment I keep unpacking my hospital bag to check I remembered everything, and also because I keep changing my mind about what to take. I don't want to pack e.g. my going-home leggings because I really like them and want to wear them in the meantime! It makes me feel a bit like my life is on hold.

It's freaky to open my calendar for the week and see the "36 weeks!" which I put in ages ago. I remember thinking that felt SO far away.

SueV14 · 23/06/2015 14:11

Can't agree more, feels absolutely surreal esp cause it's my first one. I'm spending lot of time online looking at baby stuff and somehow there is no link in my head between the shopping and the fact that it's all for MY baby :)

Thanks for mentioning the hospital bag Charlie . Anyone got a good list of essentials to go into it?

Clstow · 23/06/2015 18:19

Yep, I'm in the surreal camp too. Went to see the hospital where I'm gonna give birth today and couldn't really get my head round the idea that next time I go there, I'll leave with a baby Hmm

Sue a couple of my friends absolutely rave about the perfect prep machine - they say if you're gonna FF it's their number one baby buy. Well worth the money apparently.

broodylicious · 23/06/2015 18:27

Lol charlie, I've started unpacking and re packing my hospital bags too! I swear I'll actually get to the hospital and realise I've forgotten my nightie or the baby's nappies because of this latest obsession.

Must admit though, I don't wank past a mirrorWink (sorry, but it made me laugh!)

GotToBeInItToWinIt · 23/06/2015 18:31

38 weeks here and still no hospital bag, I'm in denial! I'll probably just chuck it all in when I'm in early labour again like last time!
I'm not very organised Smile

charlieis30 · 23/06/2015 18:41

whoops typo!!

fattymcfatfat · 23/06/2015 19:06

I will be 36 weeks tomorrow. saw mw today. she's very happy with everything and remembered me from when I was pregnant with DS1 7 years ago!

Aretepetite · 23/06/2015 19:06

Surreal camp here too and keep changing from being ready to wanting to prolong :@

fattymcfatfat · 23/06/2015 19:09

oh and TMI I can't stop pooing! Blush I have always had problems I would usually go once every 3 day's or so. I've been to the toilet 4 times today already (I'm actually on my phone an mnetting from the loo Blush )

jmojo · 23/06/2015 19:11

must I don't know what the A3 stands for, it must be a hospital specific code. Ask at your next apt!!

broodylicious · 23/06/2015 19:38

charlie, lol, I'd assumed so, didn't think you'd share that level of info with us, haha! Smile

fattymc, totally the same here too!! 36+1 so must be the week for itWink

SueV14 · 23/06/2015 19:41

Fatty I'm jealous Envy

SueV14 · 23/06/2015 19:43
