Welcome, welcome, welcome to the 27th grads thread... celebrating the success of Just Shagging in getting us viroids upduffed!

For those that don't know, a 'viroid' is from the original JSing thread 1, where someone was trying to type ladies (in reference to all the JSing ladies), but their phone decided to call us all viroids instead!

The name stuck and we've been the JSing viroids ever since.

The thread we have graduated from is here in its 42nd outing. WARNING: they're all a bit kerazy not to mention randy!

There is also a Just Mumming thread in postnatal clubs here for once your babies come along, or to keep up with the graduated graduates!

There is also a private facebook group (so it doesn't give the game away in your news feed!)... if you want to join to see photos of new babies etc, just ask in-thread!

Here is the stats list, please update your own spot with any updates: docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1oLJqpadAb2givKYq8OJfGCti3s6xzsTGlI-GoaBfM_M/edit?pli=1#gid=0

la contraception straight away after giving birth just in case!

Fattycow · 05/05/2015 12:47

You lot have made me buy a Magnum Raspberry...

Fleurchamp · 05/05/2015 13:08

I think my DH would divorce me if I bought a mamaroo!

The newborn seat is a bit of an extravagance really but it came as part of a deal from back in action (weird place to buy baby stuff if you ask me!) well, is being delivered later this week.

John Lewis has called me. Car seat base still out of stock 3 weeks after stock due in Confused not sure what to do now. I do still have at least 6 weeks in which to panic

Purpleball · 05/05/2015 13:16

Dr doom wasn't there. It was a nice Dr instead who didn't do doom and gloom. My BP was through the roof when I got there. I was so anxious and running late thanks to the chemist holding me up

Kato I think I'll be back on the mirena soon after too. Plan is to have a 2 year gap but we'll see how this goes first and if we can afford another

That is a good deal from back in action!! Hmmm... Who can I pretend bought us it?

Pisghetti · 05/05/2015 14:10

The NHS birth to 5year book I was given postnatally says BF can be used as contraception provided you are exclusively breast feeding, including through the night, and haven't had a period. Surely you ovulate before your first period post birth though?! Seems crazy to me - are they trying to up the birth rate? The last midwife I saw kept pushing the depo but I'm not keen on the idea as I'm not sure if (and when) I might JS again. Not planning on anything just yet (B is only 6 weeks!) but the depo takes ages to wear off doesn't it?

Aww I haven't got any cool looking baby stuff - it's all garish and clashing at Chez Pis!

Pisghetti · 05/05/2015 14:11

Could you 'win' it in a competition Kato Wink

ChatEnOeuf · 05/05/2015 14:14

Glad you got a good doc, Purple.

Scan was ok - growth tailing off but other parameters look good, so a rescan in 2 weeks and reminder to watch movement. TinyChat weighs about 3lb 2oz at 33w.

Tori hope you're ok, mw led delivery may not be off the cards. GX.

I must look into these additional purchases, this poor child has virtually nothing all of its own Wink

ChatEnOeuf · 05/05/2015 14:18

Pis I was researching this for an article just this week. Apparently if you're exclusively feeding at least 4 hourly with no unwelcome visits from AF, rates of protection are 99% up to 3m and 98% up to 6m. Think if you express it's less reliable and missing night feeds also changes things.

gaggiagirl · 05/05/2015 14:39

tori that's a good sized baby! GX for a midwife led delivery for you.
chat how do you feel after your appt? Was it lovely to see baby chat again?
purple did you get a scan today too?

I got to hear baby's heartbeat at my appt. Midwife said it was perfect and she had never picked up one so easily in a 17 weeker she reckons it will be a big baby!!!

Haha clever baby Ga!

That's interesting Chat..... I assume expressing alongside exclusively breastfeeding (I.e. Stashing the milk and not using it to replace feeds) doesn't adversely affect things? How ironic though that when baby sleeps longer so you have the time and inclination, you probably aren't covered!

Pisghetti · 05/05/2015 15:01

Aww sorry to hear you'll miss out on the MLU Tori Sad

teejayem · 05/05/2015 15:35

I keep hearing the MWs get a bit forceful with the ol' contraception post birth! I don't know what I'm going to do, I was originally on Yasmin after trying basically every combined pill ever which I liked until it started giving me weird IBS type symptoms (Didn't realise this until I got made to switch) Dr put me on Cerazette because apparently they don't prescribe yasmin to the over 30s anymore because of the DVT risk (!) and within three months of starting it I put on a stone and a half, was the most appalling moody cunt and had absolutely no sex drive whatsoever. Zero. Nada, Zilch. It took four months for it to wear off after I stopped taking it, and I felt vile in the process, so I'm reluctant to go down that road again. It was nice not having AF tho, although when we were TTCing I found it a bit alarming that there was no regularity to my cycle. (and still wasn't when I fell up the duff). I'm a bit reluctant to go down the hormonal route again, but we'll see how I feel after. The plan is 2 with 2-3 years between...but again, depends on work, house, blah blah.
kato are they making you take off your acrylics for your section?! I've had mine on for years and the thought of having them taken off exposing my gross paper thin nails makes me want to vom :( That said I don't know how this one is making his appearance yet (appt next week) but just curious....

ChatEnOeuf · 05/05/2015 15:42

Ah pants Tori Sad. Though I was cons led all last time and still had a lovely MW delivery - one bonus of pitching up in advanced labour on a Sunday Grin

TBH I'm a bit stressed Ga, I know too much. Lovely to see baby again, but it is still breech/transverse which if we end up needing to delivery early for growth tailing off, is a no-go. The anaesthetists were called off to an emergency while I was waiting to see them so that's shifted to Thursday.

Lovely you got to hear the HB, such a special thing :)

ChatEnOeuf · 05/05/2015 15:50

Pis - apparently not: [[http://www.patient.co.uk/doctor/postpartum-contraception]]

Probably something to do with sucking vs mechanical pumping...

ChatEnOeuf · 05/05/2015 15:50

Try again!

KatoPotato · 05/05/2015 15:59

I've been given strict instructions about section day. No acrylics, nail polish or shellac on fingers or toes, no makeup, fake tan and here's the best bit. No fanny hair removal or maintenance at all. Not even a trim! I'd been planning a visit to the salon this week but not allowed now!

gaggiagirl · 05/05/2015 16:10

chat I bet it is stressful. You will be relieved when baby is born, no more worries. Aren't babies worrying?!
tori sorry to hear that, are you with someone now? Do you live near me? Come over, I have pink magnums.
kato why no hair removal? What's the crack with that?

teejayem · 05/05/2015 16:18

oh Bollocks kato :( I have shellac toes too. And the waxing. FFS!

I'm sure I've seen episodes of OBEM where women have all of these things and they still did the section anyway.

Purpleball · 05/05/2015 16:24

Yes we had a scan today but babypurple isn't cooperative again so I have to go back for a rescan in 3 weeks after we get back from holiday.

Diabetic clinic was fine. Hba1c still 5.7 so they are very happy.

Tory that's a bugger about MLU, I don't know what the condition is that you mentioned but it sounds like you're being looked after.

Chat is it time to panic about upside down babychat yet? I'm sure too much knowledge is scary. But not understanding means not in control for me which is possibly worse.

Back for a rescan on 29th May, then another scan at 26 weeks and both consultants again on 9th June

Purpleball · 05/05/2015 16:25

Kato/Tee I'm sure most women do some trimming at least. I'd have thought the less hair the better. I was planning a pre-section wax too

batfish · 05/05/2015 16:28

Yay gaggia for superbaby heartbeat!

batfish · 05/05/2015 16:29

That is crazy - how will they know if you trimmed after they told you not to or if you had already done it before?! Can't understand what difference it makes to a c section but I'm intrigued!
