Welcome, welcome, welcome to the 27th grads thread... celebrating the success of Just Shagging in getting us viroids upduffed!

For those that don't know, a 'viroid' is from the original JSing thread 1, where someone was trying to type ladies (in reference to all the JSing ladies), but their phone decided to call us all viroids instead!

The name stuck and we've been the JSing viroids ever since.

The thread we have graduated from is here in its 42nd outing. WARNING: they're all a bit kerazy not to mention randy!

There is also a Just Mumming thread in postnatal clubs here for once your babies come along, or to keep up with the graduated graduates!

There is also a private facebook group (so it doesn't give the game away in your news feed!)... if you want to join to see photos of new babies etc, just ask in-thread!

Here is the stats list, please update your own spot with any updates: docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1oLJqpadAb2givKYq8OJfGCti3s6xzsTGlI-GoaBfM_M/edit?pli=1#gid=0

I've promised not to panic until 35 weeks Purple Grin

KatoPotato · 05/05/2015 17:01

I was told at my pre op assessment not to 'interfere in any way with my pubic hair to decrease infection risks? She said it was new advice and is officially a fortnight?

Thankfully I'm not super hairy, and my hair doesn't grow as high as my current scar. There must have been an increase in ladies turning up to theatre with freshly shaved bits with open follicles or pores or something

Nail polish is so they can check you're not turning blue

Hobbit19 · 05/05/2015 17:03

Wow, a big day in the world of pregnant Viroids. I feel so far behind you all!

Chat I know nothing (literally nothing) about babies, but if baby chat needs to grow does that give you carte blanch to just literally stuff your face with raspberry magnums for 7 weeks?

Also, why can't you buy salt and vinegar poppadoms? WHY?!?

Niffertiti · 05/05/2015 17:24

Hello viroids, thought I'd pop on over and introduce myself. BFP on Sunday but still only 14dpo, and I had MC in March at 8 weeks. So happy but bloody terrified. And mostly just exhausted...

I might follow Gouda's lead and disappear for a while until I'm a bit more convinced this is going to work out - I'm planning on largely ignoring the fact I'm pregnant until early scan - booked a private one at 7 weeks. (Except for the no wine. Weep).

If that goes well, I might believe this is real!

One quick q before I do: exercise. So I'm generally a fairly fit person but have been off exercise since Xmas - holidays, miscarriage, flu, work being mental. So I'm officially Really Unfit atm. I'd just started couch to 10k the week before I got BFP. To continue or not? It's Mage easy compared to what I normally do so I was thinking just carry on if feel l up to it?

WilHarlot · 05/05/2015 17:38

Sorry for all worrying news today Viroids. Knowledge definitely can be a bad thing. I'm like that with developmental issues - know too many markers for different conditions and eternally diagnosing my children with various things Confused .

They removed my nail polish during my first labour when they thought I'd have to go to theatre.

Purpleball · 05/05/2015 17:42

That's bizarre Kato, I'd have thought it was the opposite.

Apparently it's fine to continue with whatever exercise you're used to doing but not to take up something new without asking your GP or midwife

Welcome Niffertiti. Before I got my bfp I was super active. Spinning and weightlifting 5Xpw. I was told that I couldn't attend spin or kettlercise - something called blood shunting? - anymore and personally I just didn't want to put my body through anything that I would regret if anything went wrong so I stopped for the first trimester.

I worked with a pt from 12-28 weeks doing crossfire type stuff but that was monitored closely.

But then I had a check with myself, this is probably my last ever pregnancy, and decided to give myself a break and enjoy resting and eating crap! I've got the rest of my life for 6am spin and kale smoothies!

Lookingforadvice123 · 05/05/2015 17:53

Evening all.exciting hearing some viroids are having scans! My 12 week scan (gx I get there) feels like an age away, I'm not 12 weeks until 22 June.

katopotato seriously, you were told not to spin? I haven't asked a doctor or midwife but spoken to several PTs who've studied pregnancy, and they've said it's absolutely fine to continue what you're used to? I've been to two spin classes since finding out I was pregnant a week ago, got my 3rd tomorrow!

KatoPotato · 05/05/2015 18:05

Possibly the PTs you've spoken to are more pregnancy specialist, but my PT said not advised as did my midwife. I di Google and saw research and evidence saying it was okay, but like I said to me it wasn't worth the risk and I felt pretty grotty in the first trimester too!

Jcandy · 05/05/2015 18:15

Hey all. I'm feeling emotional today. Think it's mainly coz I don't fancy eating anything! Nothing at all is floating my boat Sad food is normally such a pleasure for me which is why I think I'm sad. Don't worry still forcing it down though. I know I'm not drinking anywhere near enough either.

Got my private early scan tomorrow evening. Think some of it is nerves surrounding that too.

It's been busy on the appointment front today! I can't remember what anyone said though sorry, brain is fuzz today. I will get better at this I promise!

WilHarlot · 05/05/2015 18:20

My PT told me it was fine to do a kettlebell class. I gave him this face Hmm and vowed never to trust their advice. I didn't even do kettlebells at the time... However I do think in general if you're used to doing something it should be fine as long as you watch out for injuries due to relaxin etc.

Purpleball · 05/05/2015 18:30

I'd definitely err on the side of caution. As I understand it in the first trimester too much stretching carries a risk of dislodgement.
I'm not an expert but I wouldn't take the risk

Hats off to anyone who can face exercise in the 1st trimester. I felt vile.

Have been swimming and pregnancy yoga-ing. Plus I get out walking most days there is an m&s food shop about 1.5 miles away which might have something to do with it

tori sorry to hear you are no longer mw led, I'm too scared to google your condition - I have quite a large bump!

Found out today I passed my GTT and celebrated with chocolate biscuits Smile

Pleased about the no fanjo waxing rule, I have an excuse to go au naturelle - DH will be disappointed.

Purpleball · 05/05/2015 19:08

Ooops welcome aboard Niff and congrats Smile

JC I cried when I was about 7 weeks and didn't fancy anything, I genuinely feel your pain its horrible.

purple we are scan buddies! I've got my 20wk scan on the 29th when I'll be over 21wks.

gaggiagirl · 05/05/2015 19:13

Welcome niff lovely to see you here.

Jcandy · 05/05/2015 19:31

Thanks ga, I decided on a sausage roll in the end which has gone down ok. Dp is choking some pasta for himself though which made me run for the toilet. So now I'm camped out upstairs feeling sorry for myself.

Forgot to say welcome niff! Smile

Don't know much about exercise as I'd let it completely lapse over the winter. Not sure how I'd physically do any at the moment anyway! Confused Hope to do a bit more when I'm feeling better

WilHarlot · 05/05/2015 19:43

Hi Niff.

Jc your DH is choking pasta? H might need some time out with a hypnobirthing cd.

Toast85 · 05/05/2015 19:43

Welcome niff!

JC I feel your pain, I went off food for about 2 weeks and felt so miserable. Not sick just a little nauseous, but had barely any appetite. It came back with a bang (8 weeks? Guessing) and now I cant get enough of the food. All of the food.

Viroids, what are your thoughts on buying 2nd hand travel systems? I'm not talking about car seats as will def get that new, but wondering if second hand carry cot/pushchair combo is a good option? And safety considerations I would need to think about? I don't have any relatives/friends who are selling so would be from a stranger.
Also, just as you need to buy a new mattress for second hand cot/moses basket- I guess I would need to be able to get a new carrycot mattress too?

Lookingforadvice123 · 05/05/2015 19:45

I'm only 5 weeks 1 day so not feeling horrible yet, spin class on Saturday actually made me feel more like myself which was great!

Jcandy · 05/05/2015 20:05

Hmmm no he was definitely cooking it but I was choking so possible Freudian slip there......... I really need more sleep! I'm 8 weeks tomorrow and it just seems to be getting worse! Been nauseous since the beginning but vomiting most days now. Lots of dry retching today due to not having eaten a lot so nothing really to vomit Sad I know it'll get better and I know it's probably a good sign, but my goodness it's hard to cope with!!

Purpleball · 05/05/2015 20:26

That's happened to me a few times JC - I went off foods I. Or ally like. Yesterday I ended up with a toasted tea cake in a cafe - there was literally nothing on the menu or on display that I wanted to eat.

I'll be 23 weeks then Ga when I have my scan.

We said we didn't want to know the sex but she had a good look around the region and neither of us saw a willy on screen. Could have been hiding it I suppose :-) but wouldn't it have been obvious?
