Been decorating the little ones' room as DW is convinced that s/he is going to come early. Bloody hope not. How was yours Deladion

ditzzy · 15/06/2015 11:06

I'm just back from a week away at the end of last week (with in-laws) and had my first anti-D injection this morning... So I'm now perched on one bum cheek to work at my desk for the rest of the day Grin

We've now just about got the nursery set up. I was failing miserably assembling ikea furniture as everything was just too heavy, so some helpful friends came over on Saturday and did it all for us Grin Grin Grin. I offered them a BBQ in return but that should have been on Saturday... First time I've tried to organise a proper BBQ party in about ten years and we get a rain-related severe weather warning! Surely that wasn't my fault?

Anyway, yes it's VERY quiet around here - is everyone just quietly enjoying being pregnant and getting on with things, or is everyone just snoozing?

DeladionInch · 15/06/2015 11:24

Just pottering Hare getting straight after builders - need to ring them, I'm pretty sure 3 doors left unhung, a water tank not removed and a carpet gripper rod missing doesn't constitute "finished"?? - and being tired. Suspect I might be anaemic although it's been a manic month with flu, getting married, relatives visiting from abroad, building work and now dp finally starting his new job!

mrsdos · 15/06/2015 11:34

We have also been getting babies room ready this weekend. I say we, I mean dh has done all the work! Also had family down the last few days so been catching up with them. Looking forward to an early night tonight, I am pooped!

bonzo77 · 15/06/2015 12:22

Phew! Super tired here too. We're in the new house, all unpacked apart from dozens of boxes of books which can stay as they are for the foreseeable future. DH and I have worked our arses off since Thursday putting up blinds, curtains and other fittings. And cleaning and unpacking. We are mostly straight now.

Have a growth scan and obstetrics appointment on Wednesday. Will be asking about getting booked for whopping cough jab and also steroids ASAP in case of early delivery, the latter especially if the growth scan looks not ideal again...

Boodlymummy · 15/06/2015 12:26

Started knitting a tiny basic jumper on Sat night and am obsessed with it, knitting every spare second. I'm a beginner, using Debbie Bliss' book Baby Knits for Beginners. Really recommend it if anyone tempted to have a go.

misssmilla1 · 15/06/2015 13:49

All quiet here; looking forward to having a weeks holiday in a couple of weeks as our last break with just the two of us.

Finally shifted my arse and started a list / registry of all the stuff we keep talking about buying but haven't done anything about yet, which ranges from the cheap sensible stuff (sudocrem) to the big ticket items (pushchair / car seat etc) Also started the list of stuff we need to do on countdown; register him for daycare, a pediatrician, get his room ready etc. All starting to feel a bit real now!

Don't know about anyone else, but I'm really starting to feel the slow down now. I actually feel quite good, but getting up stairs seems to be a major achievement (good job we live in a flat..) and if I walk at my normal commuter pace I get a stabbing pain in my belly courtesy of round ligament pain.

Started doing pre natal yoga which is a godsend; in class yesterday she had these massage balls about the same size as a tennis ball which we used on the bottom of our feet and our sternum and bumcheeks to massage out trapped nerves etc. Looks a bit weird, but incredibly helpful!

Treaclepie19 · 15/06/2015 16:18

Keep falling off!
Had to go for a scan today as I've not been feeling little one move. All looked fine, got to see consultant on Wednesday.

Weird not feeling him though.

Boodly I might try that, love knitted bits but not a clue where to start! Did nab myself a tiny knitted Cardi in the charity shop for £1 thoughGrin

treacle glad to hear everything's ok, I don't feel too much movement either some days

misssmila I've been loving preggo yoga too - might buy a tennis ball to try that though, sounds amazing

We are moving our whole house around as we currently have the living room upstairs, and we want to move it downstairs make the current living room our bedroom and our current bedroom the nursery. DP and dad have been stripping the wallpaper in the downstairs, currently re-lining the walls, then to paint, move furniture down, move our bed into the old living room and THEN we can get on with the nursery decorating and lots of orderingGrin can't wait!

MummyBexta · 15/06/2015 18:54

I've felt baby hiccuping this week Smile but also had some unpleasant symptoms - sciatica, neausea with the heat and heartburn. Can't complain though - exciting times ahead

misssmilla1 · 15/06/2015 19:46

snowflake that all sounds v impressive, you're putting us to shame! We've got as far as pondering whether to paint his room or not; haven't shifted myself to get paint samples etc!

These are the balls we used in yoga in case anyone wants to give them a go www.amazon.co.uk/s/ref=nb_sb_noss?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=yoga+tune+up+therapy+ball

Meinthecorner · 15/06/2015 19:46

So tired today. Had a busy day yesterday up in London and paid for it today. Ds had to watch a lot of tv today and just had a little nap when dp got home. Decorating all makes it feel imminent. We were supposed to be having building work starting this month but it has been put back until October eek! We have the summer to sort out a new bedroom for ds1 and then hopefully by the time the baby is ready for their bedroom that will be done too.

Jessica32 · 16/06/2015 09:10

Hi All, everyone sounds very busy. We are due to move house in July (hopefully exchanging today so will get an exact date, at last) so I haven't been able to start anything. I have everything chosen but really feel I need it done now. Definitely getting more tired all the time so dreading move on one hand, and desperate to get sorted on the other.

misssmilla1 · 16/06/2015 13:48

Quite happy this morning as I've just found out that I think I can qualify for 2 weeks maternity leave before my due date (at reduced pay probably)

The other option was working right up until and probably on delivery date which didn't fill me full of joy. However, getting any sense out of our central HR team is like wading through treacle as they don't post clear guidelines anywhere on how this stuff works.

Snowflake15 · 16/06/2015 16:37

Sounds impressive but doesn't feel it; its all slowly slowly bit by bit. Be worth it in the end though Smile

miss thats good if you can get a break before baby comes! My work HR is a bit of a mare as there is no proper HR dept, its a small company and just a manager who deals with the stuff. Had to pester her for the forms that had to be in by 25 weeks and she got a bit rude about it! Now she said she has to check with the senior partner about my annual leave before mat leave, but I don't see how they could reject it? Fingers crossed anyway!

Baby's been kicking more and more which is lovely. I felt quite faint and dizzy last night, but put it down to not eating enough and stocked up on some bran flakes, bananas, carrots and houmous to have at work so I'm not getting too hungry.

Maths88 · 17/06/2015 15:17

Having a 3D scan tonight. I know they're not everyone's cup of tea but I'm really looking forward to it!

Hope everyone is well it's really quiet in here.

MummyBexta · 17/06/2015 15:33

Maths88 I'm having one in just over a week - can't wait! Enjoy Smile

ditzzy · 17/06/2015 17:33

I've got one on Saturday!! Excited too. I'm hoping it'll be a good bonding experience for DP - as well as getting a sneak preview on whether my placenta has thought about moving to somewhere more sensible yet (before the NHS re-scan in three weeks)

MummyBexta · 17/06/2015 17:43

ditzzy exactly the same here. I'll be nearly 27 weeks at 4D scan but not at hospital for placenta position to be checked again til 32 weeks

ditzzy · 17/06/2015 18:14

I would have done the 4D scan anyway but it gave me an extra reason so I won't be taken quite so much by surprise (either way) at the official 'placenta position' scan!

ditzzy · 17/06/2015 18:20

It could still move between scans of course... I do realise that but if it hasn't moved by the 29 weeks I'll be at 4D then I think I need to seriously prepare DP for the planned c-section option! He's far more worried by the idea than I am.

If it has already moved (or even looks like it's starting to) I'll be more surprised but will have to admit I've been being a drama queen about it as I've been convinced it's staying put!! Loads of people have commented now that my bump is an odd shape but the midwife wasn't concerned and said not to read anything into it and she is the expert after all.

MummyBexta · 17/06/2015 18:21

Yes, same here.
Our 4D scan was a gift from my sister Smile

ditzzy · 17/06/2015 18:32

Mine is a present from me to DP - I think I might call it a Father's Day present just to make him smile Grin although I have also got him a cute baby grow with a daddy slogan on!!

bonzo77 · 17/06/2015 22:22

Growth scan today. Baby was looking very cute, and is still apparently a boy. Following the growth trajectory set last time, so sonographer and obstetrician happy. Though rescan booked for 2 weeks and I'm having my care transferred from obstetrics to foetal medicine. Which is a good thing. It's a much smaller department with fewer patients so better continuity.

I can't believe we've been in the new house for nearly a week. It almost feels like home! Every time we pass the old one though DS2 calls out "bye bye house". 2 year olds are soooo sweet.

I've never had a 3D or 4D scan. Nothing against those who do, just don't fancy it. The images I've seen have not appealed, and I can't justify the expense. I do with that I'd got DH to photograph my bump each day though: those time-lapse films are lovely. And I think this was my last opportunity. Mind you, DH said we'd be sticking at 2, and here I am with number 3. So if there's a next time....

misssmilla1 · 18/06/2015 15:24

Went for my glucose test today (standard procedure here) had to drink what looked like a bottle of bright orange panda pops; as expected it was disgusting so now have to wait a week or so for the results.

Also had a routine scan; as i thought, he's definitely breech but also adding to this by lieing there with both his arms and legs up by his head! explains why the movement patterns have been all over of late. he's also incredibly active, borne out with the boot in the ribs every morning I keep getting
