And the same here was regarding usually only remembering the last message.

I've never been constipated during pregnancy or after my section. I know I'm odd in that though.

BeanCalledPickle · 29/04/2015 21:55

Yeah same with feeding tops. I did find that it was useful to have a couple of the vests with clips. Regular vest top on top. The summer makes it so much easier. By the time it gets cold they don't feed half as much so you don't need access all the time. I can't imagine sitting on a park bench trying to feed in a jumper and coat!

WasabiNuts · 29/04/2015 22:39

Thanks, cuphat and Bean. I did BF DS but it was at the opposite end of the year to start with, I carried on for just under two years and I can't remember what I did!!! I did/do have some nice nursing hoodies, I wore them al the time, I just can't remember what I did in the warmer months! Hope it all comes back to me! :)

piglet81 · 29/04/2015 22:55

Good question Leanne - I don't know if I'll get an estimated weight but I keep reading that all these estimates are pretty unreliable anyway so who knows. Scan is at 1pm apple. Midwife said not to worry, so I'm trying not to! :-)

GinIsCalling · 30/04/2015 03:06

Hi all, thanks for the nice messages. I'm still in hospital, nearly on day three of my induction :-(
I had the gel over night last night and stayed in hospital, then started pitocin this morning. I'm still only 3 to 4cm dilated! Waters haven't gone though so pretty sure that once they do things will speed up. I'm not in too much pain, using the tens machine and it is pretty awesome. But I'm soooo tired and hungry, can't eat in case of c section.
I've also been scanned and told baby should weigh around 6lbs10 - was 7lbs at last scan so shows how unreliable the scans are! I'm being induced because I have choleostasis though, so it's for baby's sake and for the best.
Oh and keep hearing newborns crying in the hallway ( I'm in my own room) and makes me v excited! My husband, however, is asleep on the hospital bed.

applecore0317 · 30/04/2015 05:04

Hope things move along a bit quicker for you ginger and I that your waters break on their own. Fingers crossed you don't end up having a c section

Chookford · 30/04/2015 06:06

Good luck gin hope it all starts moving quicker for you!

I wrote a huge reply last nights name checking everyone I was so chuffed then mumsnet lost it! I could have cried so apologies for not doing so again, but good luck to everyone who is due/overdue hope we have some baby news soon!

tori glad baby has turned, and that's a lovely plaque!

apple hooray for being low risk now! Great news!

I'm sorry I can't remember much else of what was said! Hope everyone is ok...

I have my last growth scan today at 12 to see if this little monkey has turned, if not I think the talks begin on a c section!

gingerfluffball · 30/04/2015 06:25

Good luck gin, hopefully baby comes along soon! Glad the tens machine is working well.

Had my attempted sweep today, neither student midwife or midwife could do it because baby was 'floating free' and not engaged. They ordered a quick scan to check he's head down (which he is). Weird though as he's apparently been 1/5 engaged at appts over the last month, he must be moving in and out. Have been told to sit on my birthing ball constantly to try and get him to descend as it's not that usual for first timers not to be engaged at this point. Hoping he's just an awkward baby who'll drop down soon and not a sign of interventions to come.

Justyouwaitandsee · 30/04/2015 06:44

Hi all - sorry not to respond much yesterday to all the news. I was a bit down about needing the rewire. Will try harder to live up to the impressive updates others have been posting!

Congrats to apple and leanne on being classed as low risk and getting the go ahead for the birth centre birth!

Hugs to Bradders and Gin - You are both doing so well at being patient - I hope something happens for you both soon! And to Bean - I know you are dreading the hospital stay, so hope everything goes smoothly and to plan for you (tomorrow?)

We seem to have had a bit of a lull in baby announcements so hope we get some more soon - worth being aware that if anyone does give birth on the same day as the Duchess of Cambridge then you can claim a silver penny from the Royal Mint. Only issued to babies born the same day. I feel sorry for her with all the eyes of the world's media on her at this time.

Laughing at all the DHs and DPs getting twitchy - my DH's constant 'why did you say ow?' And 'is that a sign of labour?' Is now wearing a bit thin and apparently I keep doing this thing where I hold my breath unintentionally which freaks him out.

For anyone not on facebook, we have finally almost completed the nursery preparations. Have attached a pic!

Do we have a postnatal thread as yet?

mumxof3x · 30/04/2015 08:43

Good luck gin...hope baby comes soon.

Great news leanne and apple :)

Tori, good news baby is now head down.

Leo is full of cold poor little mr. Hope it doesn't affect his feeding too much.

I have felt very funny in the past week, so so sick and nauseous and have the awful metal taste in my mouth like im in early pregnancy again (im obviously not haha) and I can barely stomach any meals..just small sugary snacks. Im sure its just hormones with the retained placenta situation. But a do wish it would bugger off now, going to mention it to midwife tomorrow.

BeanCalledPickle · 30/04/2015 09:19

So a car carrying truck, or whatever they are called, has broken down outside. This is the sort of thing you really hope doesn't happen as you go into labour!!

Last day of freedom today. Feel bloody awful with no immediate plans to leave sofa though cleaner will be here at lunch so may need to clear out in the afternoon. So absolutely delighted that after tomorrow I never ever have to be pregnant again!

shinyhappyone · 30/04/2015 09:20

Hey Maysters,

Gin, really hope things get going today. Must be rubbish waiting for so long especially when you can't eat!

Yes to the nausea thing. Feeling sick in the evenings just as I go to bed. Usually wake up feeling fine though.

So DH was diagnosed with shingles yesterday. Got a scheduled midwife appt today so can find out exactly what the risks are but as I understand it, there is little to no risk to me or baby while he stays put (as I have had chicken pox) but worrying about what happens if I go in to labour before it clears up (am 38 +2). Keep freaking out that he won't be allowed on labour suite or to hold little one when he's born. Also trying to hide my fears from him as he's understandably quite down about it. Don't suppose anyone has any experience to share?

I am really hoping the good weather returns. Mat leave was much more enjoyable spent in the sunshine!!
Have a good day all xx

Justyouwaitandsee · 30/04/2015 09:54

Hi ladies,

I have bitten the bullet and created a postnatal group where as babies arrive we can share feeding / sleeping (or not as the case may be) advice and experiences. Don't want to lose touch once babies are here!

Everyone should feel comfortable posting on both/either thread, whether or not your baby has arrived or not! No one should feel left out or left behind however close to the back of the bus you are!

www.mumsnet.com/Talk/postnatal_clubs/2367681-May-2015-Still-early-but-babies-already-arriving

Bean - are you trapped in your drive? Hope they get the vehicle moved soon!

BeanCalledPickle · 30/04/2015 09:59

The guy just knocked to say it's going to be hours!

Clearly I won't be going into labour today as I'm having her tomorrow anyway so she would be crazy to come early. And, in a display of sheer class, we were probably just going to get the bus up tomorrow! Don't know about your hospital but here the parking is so utterly horrendous it's better to rock up on the bus

applecore0317 · 30/04/2015 10:51

Shiny I can only comment on the fact that I have had shingles before, that was 15 years ago though and I was told to avoid pregnant women at the time. Its also pretty painful, however I was given strong tablets and it cleared up after a week. When are you due?

KittyVonCatsington · 30/04/2015 11:17

Gin wishing you luck with your induction!!

Bean - exciting for tomorrow - a May Day Baby!!

Thanks for the link to that thread Just - don't think I'll be needing it just yet Sad

gingerfluff-so sorry Baby wasn't playing ball-1/5 engaged means baby is really really far down and engaged so annoying he has come so far back up -boo!

Good luck at your scans today Chook and piglet!!

Nursery looks fab Just! Very summery.

Aww mumx3 I hope you and Leo both feel better soon and his cold doesnt affect feeding.

Enjoy your last day of freedom Bean- keep us updated tomorrow!

Re Shingles Shiney someone I worked with had it and the school nurse said as I had had chicken pox baby should be ok while inside me but I would double check with midwife/NHS Direct.

For those who may experience the same thing, I rang the midwife at the MAU about the plug loss (which is still going 4 days later) and she said it doesn't necessarily mean labour is imminent, just that my body is preparing itself. As long as baby is moving normally and I'm not losing blood it's normal. So there you go!

Chookford · 30/04/2015 14:26

Afternoon all

Baby has turned for me so no c section required! Hooray!! Grin

kitty , blondie, longest , just* gin, and bean hope we have some baby news soon!!!

mum sorry to hear Leo has a cold but great news that he is feeding well, hope he will be home soon.

Hope everyone is having a nice Thursday, one more day to go then a nice long weekend for those that are still working!

aberjen · 30/04/2015 14:54

Good luck to all those with inductions/sections/possible labour symptoms on the way!!

Was feeling quite down in the dumps this morning - am 38+1 and DD arrived at 38+2 so was convinced would have baby by now. However, just been to loo and there was tiny bit of cm so maybe plug is on it's way out with baby to follow - fingers crossed!! I went into labour 3 days after losing plug last time. If it is plug, hope things happen faster this time as we are a bit short on child care from 3-7 may...

Chookford · 30/04/2015 14:57

aberjen hope this is a sign of things to come, and you have a baby before 3/5!

applecore0317 · 30/04/2015 16:02

Fantastic news Chook :)

Fingers crossed aberjen

Sorry that Leo has a cold Mum, hope you both feel better soon.

Like the sound of the letters Tori, I want to do something similar but wrapped in wool, will have to wait till we chooses name though.

Hope everyone is having a good day, I'm shattered and we have our last NCT class tonight which is THREE hours on breastfeeding... Confused

kittiker · 30/04/2015 17:00

Hope everyone is well. This thread is so exciting at the moment!

Just been for a pregnancy massage which was lovely. I'm hoping it might get things moving along. EDD is Sunday so I'm desperately symptom spotting. Nesting like a fiend and hideously hormonal, too. Had some gripey pains off and on for the last 24 hours but nothing obvious. I just don't know what to expect - it's pretty hard to be patient.

Best of luck to everyone due to pop!

KittyVonCatsington · 30/04/2015 17:10

In the same boat kittiker!! EDD is Sunday too Grin Just a waiting game now!!

Blondie87 · 30/04/2015 17:20

That's great Chook! Must be a big relief.

The waiting game is both intriguing and all-consuming isn't it ladies?!
