Marking my place and also adding my birth story here for anybody that wants to read.
Leo was born on the 11/04/15 at 1.01pm at 34 weeks weighing 5ib 15oz.
I had been having signs and symptoms since 29 weeks. Started with blood streaked mucus plug loss first and by 31 weeks had an horrible constant period cramp pain in my back it would be there most days. By 32 weeks loose bowels kicked in along with random vomiting. Braxton hicks were happening more frequent and some days id have a full day of painful contractions. The plug loss continued every day until I had him. Sometimes it would be just green, others it would be green and blood streaked. This was all the warm up lol
When I turned 34 weeks I went on a walk with my kiddies and sis, by 2.30pm I noticed I was contracting every 6 mins although mild pain at first. By 5.30pm pain was much worse and u had a massive ache In my lower region and bottom, I was still losing streaked plug, so I rang triage. I was put on a monitor which showed regular contractions, so then I was swabbed with an actum partis test (tells you if labour is imminent within 2wk) this come back negative and at 99% accurate it sent me deeply condused as to how I was having all this pain but apparently wasnt having a baby any time soon. So I was sent home (Wednesday) and then the next day I had my 34 week midwife appointment, straight away she wasnt happy and rang triage and had me sent back up. When I got back there pains were now showing closer together and had intensified much more, I was then asked to stay in the night which I couldnt as I had no childcare arranged, so we agreed that id have the steriod injection as a precaution and return the next day (friday) for the second dose. Which I did. Friday the pains had gone further apart but much more painful when they came. So friday night I had 2 baths and then went to bed. I was awoken at 2am with the nasty period cramps again in my back but fell back and then from 4.30 regular pains were waking me up but I kwpt drifting off between them. 6.30 came I stood up and had a big contraction I couldnt breath felt like somebody was tying a belt around my waist and had such pressure down below, so went to toilet and when I wiped it was just all blood on the tissue. So went and woke dp up and then rang mum. She arranged to pick me up at 8am, then we would go to asda for the rest of my hospital bag, so in meantime I got a bath, but abit of makeup on and sorted my bits out that I needed to take. Mum arrived at 8 and by this time the pains were 3 mins from start of a contraction to start of the next one. So I decided there was no time for asda. When we arrived at hospital I was 5cm and took down to labour ward where I then had my tens machine put on, I had a quick scan to determine if baby was definitely head down which he was, but informed he was also back to back. I was on a monitor the whole time so was only allowed to lay on my back as he was preterm and they needed to check there was no issues with him during. I wasnt checked again after the first examination and by 12.30pm I was getting rather worked up that my waters were still intact lol as all my previous births they had been popped for me, I asked her to break them but she couldn't as again he was preterm. At 12.45pm I decided I wanted to have abit of gas and air as I was starting to tense up with fear of pushing with my waters intact lol stupid I know and 8 mins later the gas was taken off me as the midwife said she could see external movement so I was ready to push, so just before 12.55 I started to push and after a few mins my waters exploded all over as I was pushing and drenched the poor midwife. With 3 more pushes my baby wasn born at 1.01pm and lifted straight to my chest, they decided that delayed cord clamping was the best option for him as he was early so they left it a while while he layed on me. I didnt have the injection in my leg to speed up placenta seperation either. Cord was then clamped and cut and the baby doctor came and checked him over and then he was taken to scbu.
My birth was not what id imagined and hoped for, but it was still such a positive experience for the circumstances :)
Sorry its so long and sorry for the lack of puntuation etc. I did it on my phone so just rushed it best I could lol.
