I need to see the GP as my dates aren't clear, and also I'm getting tachycardia again Sad Guess I'll be referred back to cardiology. Wasn't an issue when giving birth so hopefully they won't be too fussed!

I've just checked my calendar again and I'll be 11+4 by the time I have my appointment with the midwife. Isn't that a bit late? At the surgery they seemed very vague and the calculations sounded wrong to me.

Should I query this?

brickiemum2 · 16/05/2015 16:58

I don't think it really matters to much when your booking in appointment is as they don't do a heck of a lot that impacts your pregnancy or needs to be done in a timely fashion.
I've been informed (yesterday) that they require you to be at least 13! Weeks for the detail scan now, not 12. Do you have a scan booked in othm ?

mrsfazruns · 16/05/2015 17:09

My scan is booked in for 12+2 x

OTheHugeManatee · 16/05/2015 17:14

That's the thing - I don't know how you go about booking a scan, I thought you had to see the MW first and they sorted all that out. So can I just go round the MW and arrange a scan directly then?

I'm in Scotland so it's all different. We self refer to a booking in hotline. They book your first mw meeting in the hospital and your first scan over the phone, from then on mw visits are in your gp' s surgery. You don't need to see a gp or mw to refer. She said the nhs Scotland guidelines had just changed to 13 weeks for the scan as it is more likely that everything can be seen that needs to be seen.

OTheHugeManatee · 16/05/2015 17:58

I suspect that the receptionists at the surgery got confused when I told them I was 2-3 weeks as I didn't know then that you're supposed to count it from your last period, not what it says on the ClearBlue test. I should have said 5 weeks! So they've given me an appointment that would be perfect if I was 2 weeks less pregnant than I am Hmm

I have the local midwife's number though so think I might just call her directly and query it.

mrsfazruns · 16/05/2015 18:22

I booked MW appt via reception at gp and my gp sent a scan request and had appt within 2 days!!

Anyone else feeing rough today!? Had on and off nausea all day and DH and DS out all day/night in London!! I'm hungry but don't know what I want then when I eat what I think will be nice it tastes awful!! Need my mum to come give me a cuddle .... Feeling rough!!! Xx

FizzyPinkWine · 16/05/2015 19:01

Mrsfaz, i've been feeling similarly. Kind of sicky but not dreadful. Want to eat everything in sight, but as soon as I do eat I feel sicker!!

mrsfazruns · 16/05/2015 19:02

parsnipbob · 16/05/2015 19:21

No symptoms at all here which I'm slightly concerned about...

MaybeMrsMum2016 · 16/05/2015 19:27

I've got very few symptoms so far. Achey boobs, go for a wee a bit more, and a few cramps on and off through the day. No nausea since a day or two after the BFP, and haven't been sick. No food/drink aversions either. I'm finding it hard to believe there's a little human growing in there, the news still hasn't sunk in!

parsnipbob · 16/05/2015 19:29

Sore nipples are the only symptom I have...nothing else. But then AF wouldn't have been due til Monday so I'm still very very early!

Juniper44 · 16/05/2015 19:38

Absolutely exhausted today and struggling to put up with DD's tantrums! Obviously, her dinner was Just All Wrong and all she wanted was cucumber. Sigh.

Also so, so thirsty and then desperate to wee! Same as last time, but no nausea yet so obviously I'm worrying about that!

Sister told my brother before I did so he's now in a strop with me. He was completely heartless about my MC so I wasn't particularly rushing to tell him this time in case things don't work out.

parsnipbob · 16/05/2015 19:41

Do people here tell their families at this stage? I wasn't going to until the 12 week scan, what do others do?

mappemonde · 16/05/2015 19:43

Tiredness is absolutely my main symptom - could fall asleep standing up!

Have had a teeny tiny bit of pink on wiping. (Tmi) today so nervous about that, but had it with both dc too so hoping all is well.

I'm not too nauseous - it comes and goes. I am hungry a lot though!

Tonicandgin · 16/05/2015 20:57

Symptom-wise, I've just been a bit dizzy for a couple of days and craving sugary sweets (which I don't normally eat)but main symptom was period was veeery late. A week late which never happens.

Test was only this morning but I've since then I've felt incredibly bloated which happened with dd too. Sickness last time didn't start till about wk 6 and lasted for 8 long weeks. Hoping to escape some of that.

I'm not planning on telling people until dating scan unless they guess (and I can't lie) or I can't hide it (I.e. I'm vomming).

I remember liking the little secret dh and I had last time, and you get inundated with people asking you questions which would stress me out pre scan.

Bluebird89 · 16/05/2015 21:16

I'll second the tiredness. And I had a really horrible night sweat (sorry - gross!) the other night which is what made me actually test.
I wasn't planning on telling anyone until first scan but I'm going to have to tell close family in a few weeks as I have to pull out of an event and I'm a terrible liar.

Chip86 · 16/05/2015 22:53

Welcome newbies
Got my midwife and scan dates today yay
So scan is on 29th June yay
Simptoms are very tired, and feel sick, dizzy, light headed, but TMI it comes out the other end I had forgotten this I get diorearh symptoms, lovely

mrsfazruns · 16/05/2015 23:05

Chip86 we have the same scan date x

ValancyJane · 16/05/2015 23:26

I'm rubbish at keeping secrets, there's no way I could keep it quiet until twelve weeks. I've told a few people despite being early; quite a few close friends know that we've been trying. We're only telling people who we'd tell anyway if it didn't work out. Have told two people at work and three close friends, OH has told his brother. We'll probably tell our parents next weekend.

parsnipbob · 16/05/2015 23:38

I'm crap at keeping secrets too :)

Ok so should I call the GP next week or leave it for a bit? I think I'm only about 3 weeks gone.

mappemonde · 16/05/2015 23:41

I've told people I would need/want to support us if things go wrong. My siblings, parents and a couple of best friends. DH told his dad today and we had a 'disagreement' over it. We have next to nothing to do with them, they hadn't visited in nearly 2 years, and wouldn't even send a card let alone be any practical or emotional help if I miscarry so I have no idea why DH told them. DH is not sure either and apologised. I don't think we will tell anyone else yet but I may mention it to my boss after my early scan if all is well as I find it difficult to make plans work wise knowing I wont be there etc.

AmyFlame1986 · 17/05/2015 01:38

Hey guys, will check in properly tomorrow but just to let you know I survived the wedding wth no one guessing! Drink swapping was the way forward, causally swapped by DH's empty glass for my full one! Plus I told the catering staff discreetly so when they brought out the champagne they brought me lemonade in a champagne glass!!
One drunken friend asked DH whether I was pregnant towards the end of the night but she won't remember anything in the morning!
Downside was I was incredibly bloated! Not a good look for a wedding!

CharChar2015 · 17/05/2015 02:48

Hey all... wow this is a busy thread Shock i'm hoping i can keep up with you all.

Not too sure on the procedures & things, ringing Doctors etc as I'm over in Ozzie! So things are very different out here... but I randomly wanted to be on a UK forum, lol - doesn't make much sense but sometimes you do like the things from home best. Anyway this info' might also explain my middle of the night postings haha.

Hey jupiner - my DD is not only the same age but also has a passion for cucumber Grin

Not too much in the symptom department here either - a little more tired than usual - but i'm only 4 weeks so thinking back to last time is was about 5-6 weeks before i started to feel like total shit! Lol.

Speaking of which - what dates are people going by?? I know when i ovulated so that date gives me an EDD 23/01 but my period gives me an EDD 26/01 - obviously ovulation date is more accurate... but it is only a few days lol. I'm going to stick with the earlier date anyway and hope the midwife agrees.

And with telling people - i'm definitely going to keep this one on the down low - i told too many people last time and had a miscarriage at 9 weeks and then had to tell everyone about that! I'll just tell my mum & BF I reckon and no one else until 12 weeks... just hope i can hide feeling like crap for that long as that's what gave me away last time Shock
