Wow congratulations helsbels! That's great news!!!

gouda I've already put on 2 lbs Envy not happy at all as I was already a couple of pounds higher than what I like to be, I've got a smallish size 10 frame so any extra smidge really shows on me! I've been eating more definitely because I'm so hungry! Still doing spin twice a week but can't go for it like I used to so obviously not burning as many cals. Going to start swimming once a week too so at least that's 3 days of exercise per week.

What excercise have you been doing daily?

Lamac85 · 14/05/2015 13:12

We have a provisionally due date of 4th January. I also want to test every 5 mins just to make sure it's still there.

goodnessgraciousgouda · 14/05/2015 13:29

Thanks kep that's reassuring!!

goodnessgraciousgouda · 14/05/2015 13:32

Looking - I've not been doing anything intense, as I wasn't doing regular intense exercise beforehand (I had stopped about three months beforehand). I've been walking a lot and doing low intensity cardio workouts I have found on youtube. Plus a few dance videos, and every now and then, a bit of resistance training.

I know it's not exactly marathon training, but it's still more active than I was before! I am wondering if the nausea is going to hit me all of a sudden when I get to 6 weeks (saturday) or if I will just be a lucky one!

I know what you mean about the frame - I'm exactly the same as you.

I'm just hoping it's stuff like blood volume and whatnot, and not just lard.

Joey0805 · 14/05/2015 16:04

I'm still running about twice a week (but only for 40 mins or so and not as fast as I normally would), doing a couple of pilates classes a week and then trying to do a spin class or a swim or something. I usually love HIIT type classes but I just don't feel like very hardcore sprints or burpees at the moment. Main issue is I love To work out in the morning and that's the time I tend to feel worst so I am struggling to fit it in at the moment. I think I'm making too many excuses and should just get on with it!!

Rollermum · 14/05/2015 16:21

Helsbels congratulations!! And welcome Smile

I'm not exercising at the mo as my normal sport (roller derby) is full contact and I don't want to risk a leg break whilst pregnant or anything worse. I will have to crack out the Divina pregnancy workout which is pretty boring / rage making after the same joke a hundred times! Anyone recommend any YouTube videos for pregnancy? Gouda what sort of resistance do you do? I was wondering if I can still fling my kettlebell about. Reckon I can for a while...is quite light.

impatientlywaiting · 14/05/2015 16:40

Roller I've heard good things about the Tracy Anderton pregnancy DVDs.

I tried out for fresh meat in Roller Derby this year, I loved it, but couldn't commit the time as it was a Sunday morning class which wasn't great when that feels like family time. Hopefully at some point in the future I'll go back to it.

brickiemum2 · 14/05/2015 16:54

Well, I've phoned up and booked all my appointment etc. Early scan on the 29th May, booking in on the 10th June and regular scan on the 8th July. I will probably have more scans than that, all being well, though. Just need to make it to those dates this time though.

ValancyJane · 14/05/2015 17:04

Hello ladies, hope I can join :) Got my BFP properly last Tuesday at 10dpo (there was a faint squinty smudge on Monday) so it's still really early days, but I need some company (OH is fed up of hearing about my crampy ovaries!)

Stats:

Age - 28
DC - This is #1
Months TTC - 6 months
BFP Date - 12/5 (10dpo)
Due Date - 21st January (I think - used an online calculator)
Booking in date - Got a Doctor's appointment on Tues
Location - Yorkshire

I'm still POAS quite a lot just to make sure - line has got progressively darker since Monday, although I do keep agonising over whether it's changed enough! Have had stabby ovaries since last Friday, sore nipples and a bit of an increased appetite. Very excited but still worrying constantly about things going wrong! Trying to relax and just enjoy the knowledge that I'm finally pregnant though.

OTheHugeManatee · 14/05/2015 17:06

God you lot are making me feel ashamed! I normally run or cycle 4x a week or so but at the moment I'm struggling to muster the energy just to do normal things let alone running as well Confused I'm really missing the running though.

Lookingforadvice123 · 14/05/2015 17:21

Hi valancy, I saw you on the JS thread on the ttc boards [waves]

gouda I'm 6 weeks 3 days and although I've definitely been getting day waves of sickness, it's nothing to shout home about so won't stop me working out yet! Which is good as I would already be a whale at this rate.

Some of you are brave mind I'm so paranoid even in spin, let alone doing anything more high intensity or that involves moving around more!

AlohaMama · 14/05/2015 18:14

I wouldn't worry about it Manatee, the only exercise I do is chasing after the DCs. I usually go for a 'walk' about once a week in the forest or along the coast, but walking with a 22 month old mainly involves dawdling, stopping for tree climbing, and occasional sprints to stop her doing something stupid.

loveulotslikejellytots · 14/05/2015 18:18

I'm managing to walk the dog for 45 mins twice a day during the week, and longer at the weekends. I might try swimming again, our local pool reopened about 4 months ago after a facelift, not sure there are many times I can go, but I've heard it's a good way to keep fit when pregnant.

Feeling especially crampy today, am 5+4 so hopefully it's just the little bean getting comfy! Smile

HotFudge87 · 14/05/2015 18:30

Wish I could run! I've recently joined a running club but been unable to go for 5 weeks as either hubby has been away or I've been full of cold (which I'm still suffering from :()manage an hr dog walk in the morning but that exhausts me atm and having a 2yo and a puppy is just enough for me ha ha! Just don't want to lose my fitness before I'm too fat! Xxx

ValancyJane · 14/05/2015 18:47

Hi Looking yes I was there for about a month, but very lurky most of the time... I was an awful JS-er with oodles of contraband and POAS at 9dpo Blush Glad to see you here!

goodnessgraciousgouda · 14/05/2015 19:09

roller - I'd recommend looking at some of the "fitness blender" workouts on youtube. Look for the low impact ones, or if you're confident enough to judge which exercises aren't appropriate, then you could try to self modify some of their other stuff. They do a lot of hiit stuff which you might want to give a miss though.

Otherwise I am a big fan of the 2004 dance workout by ministry of sound. It's a bit weird, but all the moves up until the pump it up section are things I have seen a lot in actual pregnancy workouts.

There's also blogilates, who will probably have some pregnancy specific stuff as well.

goodnessgraciousgouda · 14/05/2015 19:13

Aloha - That sounds like the very definition of interval training Grin Grin Grin

Cake

Manatee - it might not last much longer. Today I've not have enough energy to get off the sofa! (bank holiday here)

CubanoHabana · 14/05/2015 19:33

No exercise here, except for running after kids at school who are trying to sneak out for cigarettes...

impatient I am in a Feb 2014 group and there are 3 local girls, not including me, although 60 Southerners!

Did you go to school up here?

I have been offered a scan from that charity you recommended on 3rd June but I'm back at work then after being off for a week for half term, so don't think I can justify being off, when I (in theory) will only need to wait another 3 weeks after that...

impatientlywaiting · 14/05/2015 19:40

Cubano did they not have any appointments left for the Saturday of that week? They'd said to me they are doing a training day on Sat 6th so I booked in then.

I did go to school around here, I went in Washington, what about you?

Is anyone still breastfeeding their older babies? I think my supply is already taking a hammering. DS1, seemed distinctly unimpressed with my offering tonight. Will be quite emotional if he weans soon. He's always loved feeding, and it'll feel strange if he has to stop because my body is changing for his little bro/sis.

littlebbunny · 14/05/2015 21:40

Wow it's getting really busy in here, so much to catch up on but firstly congratulations and welcome to the newcomers.

Halfway through first trimester and it feels like it's taking forever!

AlohaMama · 14/05/2015 22:19

impatiently it's always hard weaning, but maybe it might work out better if it was now, when there is still a reasonable time space between the next one arriving, so that he doesn't make a connection between the two? I'm finding that expecting the next one is making me re-think timings for my DD in terms of when to move to a bed, when to start preschool, when to potty train etc. as I'm really anxious to avoid any major changes happening at the same time as new baby arriving.

MiniTickle · 14/05/2015 22:21

I thought I was 8 weeks gone however the reassurance scan has put me at approximately 6 +4. I had a small bleed which I thought might have been implantation but it looks like it might have been an actually period. Confused All very strange but so happy to have seen a heartbeat.
I'm swimming twice a week, busy at work this time of year which makes me even more tired. Already had a snooze this evening and heading up to bed now!
Congrats to everyone on scans.

coffeenut · 15/05/2015 01:08

urgh up all night with DD1 vomming. The joys. I made DH clean up the actual vom as I just couldnt stomach it ... but will have to wipe down the bathroom at some stage today. This is will be my exercise for the day.

welcome helsbels and valancy

Fascinating that they test so regularly for toxo gouda. I guess it's common in france? I had to fight to get myself a blood test for it last pregnancy (just wanted to know whether I'd had it or not - I hadn't).

Chip86 · 15/05/2015 04:27

Coffee hope DD better soon
Welcome all new comers
impatiently DD weaned her self off yesterday Sad so that's the end of bf for 9 months but don't think my body could keep supporting both. Now have leaky boobs Grin
Trying to stay fit but this week was a bad week, it's hard when you are so tired, back on it today healthy eating and walking.

goodnessgraciousgouda · 15/05/2015 08:06

Impatiently and Chip - I know breast feeding is a very emotional topic for some, so please don't take this the wrong way - but I think it's a brilliant thing that your previous DC are starting to wean now, and it would probably be wise to encourage it.

Breastfeeding takes a huge amount of energy from the body to create milk, and obviously pregnancy takes a huge amount of energy from the body to create the newbie. It might well be POSSIBLE to do both (if you weren't exclusively breast feeding), but really you should be trying to save whatever energy you can for the pregnancy!

If it helps, rather than seeing it as denying your existing dc something, you could try seeing it as giving this new dc the same treatment as you did DC one, who never had to share your body's reserves whilst growing!

coffee - Toxo might be more common here since people eat more raw meat, but even then I've only come across one person who has ever had it. What I do find annoying is that you aren't even allowed to refuse the monthly tests, as it invalidates your insurance.
